Towergate Insurance Reviews 

I came here to warn others of my experience of towergate business insurance, and am not surprised whatsoever to see all the recent 1 star reviews!
I have been with Towergate for 13 years, and am currently trying to renew my insurance. The service I have received is appalling, and they have absolutely no value for loyal customers. I can totally see why people are moving their business elsewhere.
I haven't made a claim in 13 years, but the thought of having to do so with this company in the future terrifies me.
Please save yourself some stress and avoid.

I have been with this company for over 10 years, I could not re new my insurance via the website, So phoned up was told someone would phone me back waited 3 days and I phoned them back up for the women to take my details and say someone will phone you, I did say if I haven't had a call back by Monday I will go with someone else, they never phoned today so took.my business elsewhere, another lost customer do to bad customer service.

Needed policy to cover an unoccupied house and was helped over the phone from start to finish by very helpful staff. Quick response on any telephone enquiry.
Would recommend to anyone especially with a little different situation.

One of my properties was up for automatic renewal. We always pay the complete amount in one payment. This time the so called auto renewal put me on to a credit agreement paying monthly. I haven’t signed the agreement as I want I want to pay in full. Have spoken to three different members of staff who can’t tell me which property it relates to or whether I am actually insured at the moment. I have been fobbed off with “can’t access your details at the moment, someone will call you back latter”, “you’ll receive an email in the next 24 hours”, “have you checked your junk mail”. etc etc. basically just lies. Truly appalling service.

Unable to access my online account despite trying to reset password multiple times. Their website is a joke!

Ryan Gowrley did an excellent job finding me insurance for my niche circumstances.

Being a loyal person I try to stick with companies, but I am tired of fighting with them every year when the insurance is up for renewal. This year they had the details incorrect and when I asked them to see if they could reduce the premium they came back with something that was £200+ more than the original quote they sent! Trying to get hold of anyone is impossible and emails keep going in the spam folder (apparently). I have taken my business elsewhere this year and saved myself £250 in the process.

Very helpful and professional at Towergate and I have no issues at all with their staff but the quote I was given for house and contents insurance was, in my view, excessive. £1200 compared with £420 the previous year from another insurer. The increase from my current insurer was double last years and this one was three times more. It was underwritten by the same company. Sun Alliance! Rip Off Britain is alive and well.

Absolute shocking business company I was insured with them for 7 year and then had to make a claim for a tree had fallen on my home and smash our roof tiles and caused water damage in the house and ruined some contents. I am still waiting at 6 months later for this to be sorted by them it’s been a joke I will definitely never use them again

Further to my post some days ago saying how this company had tried to double my home insurance to over £850 a year for a 2 bedroom terraced home I provided them with the information via this website as they requested. Nobody ever got back to me as the reply stated they would.

The worst insurance company I have ever come across long long wait time to get through if you can ,promised to call back but they never call you back ferriable, customer care is non existent one star is rating them to highly totally degusted

I cancelled my policy within 14 days as I took another holiday home insurance policy from them and was assured that a refund would be processed. It’s been almost 1.5 months now, and I still haven’t received the refund. I’ve called multiple times, and each time I’m told it will be refunded soon, but nothing has happened so far. This has been an extremely frustrating experience with poor communication. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this service.

Prompt, friendly, efficient however felt that it was expensive.

1st agent confirmed i would be covered for theft without window locks - doc's on receipt said not!
no reposne to 3 emails over 2 weeks!
2nd agent spoke to underwriter confirmed i would be covered for theft without window locks - new doc's on receipt said not!

4th agent spoke to underwriter, after wasting another 25mins of my life he confirmed they could give me 30days to get window locks. Very practical - do you expect me to change all my downstairs windows?

Always check the wording and don't trust what you hear from the agents, recorded line or not!

Telephoned Towergate on Tuesday the 7th requesting a quote. After giving lots of information to the advisor and being on the telephone for ages he promised to call me the next day with my quote. It is now the 10th and no call to me has been forthcoming. I guess Towergate don't want the business. Luckily, other companies do.

With just days remaining on my UK holiday home insurance policy, I have received a notification that they will not renew it due to my main residence not being in the UK. This is not new, I have been a loyal customer under the same conditions for many years. I'm appalled by the lack of consideration by giving me so little notice.

I have been with Towergate for 10 years. This year has been totally shocking!!! I am still waiting for a quote, since Wednesday 18th December 2024!! Luke assured me I would receive my quote by the end of the day!! I am still waiting....
I have now moved on as their level of service has been shocking!!!

EXCELLENT SERVICE AT ALL TIMES, CLEAR CONCISE FEES AT A COMPETATIVE PRICE. NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE .

Quick and concise help and advice. Would not hesitate to recomnmend them16/12/2024
