I will start by saying I love TOYL

I will start by saying I love TOYL. Am a beauty box fanatic and have subscribed to most of the companies in the past but I was often left feeling disappointed with the contents of my boxes. I had previously purchased a couple of mystery boxes with TOYL and I was so happy with what I got that I decided to cancel my other subscriptions and just go with this company. I have received two monthly boxes so far and have been amazed by the products and the sizes of them too not tiny sample sizes like some of the other boxes. Also love the fact that the owner Karen is really helpful and replies to your emails really fast. I can't wait to receive next month's box

Subscriber beware! A lesson in not subbing to these beauty boxes

This company has great boxes! I cannot say they don't, they have a glossy social media with the face of friendly, smiley Karen fronting up their videos...
However on Friday of last week at 8.30am I called their office number completely confused as £35 had been taken from my bank account that morning by TOYL.
I had not had a subscription with their organisation since Nov 2021! Which is nearly five months ago.
I said to the person on the phone I had no idea why this money had left my account via a card payment and would like a refund as I am not interested in a beauty box I haven't ordered.
I was assured that this would not be an issue and someone would call and my enquiry was marked as urgent.
Whilst waiting for a call as I was under the assumption I would not wait too long, I tried to get to the bottom of this mystery and noticed the day before (Thursday) an email had been sent welcoming me back to my subscription!!! I was shocked I had NOT resubscribed!! I hadn't even been on your website..
I phoned as this was quite frightening. I then realised that the reason this had been able to happen was because you still had all my details including my card details 5 months after I have left your organisation! Granted it's not a huge amount of money but I should have no reason to worry about a beauty subscription company taking money from my account.
I received emails from them Friday morning cancelling my subscription! I was grateful but no refund.
I had to repeatedly phone asking for a refund and my details permanently removed throughout Friday, I was assured this would happen as soon as I got a phone call which I would get on that day (Friday), I last phoned at 4.30pm again I was reassured I'd get called back and it never happened.
So, here we are on Sunday afternoon, Mother's Day, I receive an email telling me the box I never wanted is on its way! I cannot afford these boxes!
It's the whole reason I left (as I explained to their colleague on the phone on Friday).
I can't believe they still have my payment details in their possession months after I've left! .
I should have to fill out a form if I wanted to resubscribe as I did in the first place with all my details having to be sent again and then I'm in control ..They have a couldn't care less attitude, so much for friendly Karen!!
Please be aware I would hate to see this happen to someone else and if you have left for any reason, please check they no longer have your data stored!
To date I have received an email saying I will be refunded within the next ten days
But no explanation as to why they kept my personal and payment card details as requested..
Nor any reassurance my details are now deleted despite my previous requests.

Love this subscription box

Love this subscription box. I have discovered some lovely new brands and also got the benefit of some classics at a great price. Karen, the founder of TOYL, has a great personality and the customer service is excellent.
