We travelled from Dublin to Egypt from 12 -24Sept 2026. Our guide Dodi was exceptional through out the trip. Continously checking in to ensure everything was ok. His knowledge of all the sites we visited was top notch. His friendliness and level of calmness at all times only added to the overall experience. We have been left with memories of our Egyptian trip
which cannot be surpassed.Cannot recommend Dodi as a guide enough, he's truly a gent. Thanks for the memories.

We had a fantastic trip to Vietnam early September, it’s a busy holiday but its run so smoothly, along with our amazing guide Hung nothing phased him he was full of information and always willing to answer any questions about his beautiful country I would highly recommend

We travelled from Dublin to Egypt from 12 Sept to 24 Sept 2026. Dodi was our appointed tour guide. He was outstanding from our first encounter right up until our final goodbye. His knowledge of all facets of our tour was exceptional as was his very friendly demeanour. In many ways he displayed an engaging personality and character who accommodated and engaged with every member of our Irish/Scottish group. His friendly leadership and calm expression was verbally praised by each member of our tour group. His expert knowledge of Pharaonic Egypts ancient past made the tour all the more interesting. He left us with fantastic memories of our time in Egypt. Thankyou Dodi.

We liked being in good company of lovely people. Our guide was fantastic and could not be nicer. The hotel itself was super clean but unfortunately the spa cost €40 per hour.
On the down side the food in our hotel Monte Sargo in Osturi was terrible especially dinner. Most people dined elsewhere on more than one night. It was a pity because our group got on so well and had to dine in different restaurants and meet for drinks later.

Just returned from a very memorable trip to Egypt on a Travel Department Nile cruise.
We met our expert guide Dodi on day 2 and he never left us throughout the entire trip.
An invaluable guide, Dodi was an absolute expert in his knowledge of Egypt and how to get the best from every site visit, thank you Dodi. Hotels were excellent and the ship was OK. All staff everywhere very pleasant and attentive.

We have just returned from a trip to Egypt, booked through Travel Department and made special by our guide in Egypt, Dodi. His knowledge on all things Egyptian and Pharaonic was immense, his humour kept us bouyed along in the heat and his patience, sensitivity and unflappable character were always evident. He was always part of the group, his English perfect and he even has a cupla focal! Go raibh maith agat Dodi.

Just back from Egypt tour with the Travel Department and I can only say it was an experience worth having. From the group to the tours, accommodation and our excellent tour guide Emad Fathy otherwise known as Dodi I had one of the best tours of my life.
Dodi made this tour so memorable with his vast knowledge, personal experiences, calming nature and friendly interactions. Dodi made time for every member of our 24 people group, joining in and sharing many special moments with us all.

Booked through Ramsay Travel, we traveled from Cairo to Aswan on the Rademis 11 then back to Cairo. Two days in Cairo seeing the Museum and the Pyramids. Then from the boat, we went on tours seeing all the famous historical sites. Through-out we were accompanied by Emad (Dodi) Fathy. Dodi is an Egyptologist and a tour guide. He guided us to the important artifacts in the museum and accompanied us to all the sites. His Knowledge was incredible! His English language was perfect, our group was Scots & Irish and he never seemed to have an issue with our strong accents. He was also very aware we had come from 18 degrees to 44 degrees and made every effort to ensure we didn't miss any of the site due to heat exhaustion. The whole history of Egypt was fascinating and Dodi's enthusiasm was infectious.
Radamis 11 is an old boat and needs some repair, we struggled with the drawers in the wardrobe, lack of sockets for modern day equipment (take an adequate adapter) and a lack of evening entertainment. That said, the staff are brilliant and made the holiday great. Our steward, Ahmed Hassan, not only cleaned the rooms perfectly, he made great towel animals that he called his "surprise ". At times, there was no one manning the bar on the sun deck. This was due to having to make cocktails in the main bar for guests in the sun bar a problem easily rectified by the use of the phone.
The holiday finished in Swiss Inn Hurghada. Two days rest sun bathing,swimming in the Red Sea and eating in a choice of restaurants. Evening entertainment was not our taste, very tame games. However, this is a very strenuous holiday not suitable for those with mobility issues. The hotel has a private beach and numerous pools. Great for resting after a busy time.
The whole trip was fantastic, once in a life time. What also made it great was being part of a group. We all got on great and have kept in touch once home, sharing tales and photos of our time together.
Only down side was the ware sellers outside every historical site. The sellers inside were pleasant and enjoyed a barter. The ones outside, were more pushy. Standing In our way or putting a scarf round our necks. By day 3 we had learned to keep walking and not engage, no eye contact and they soon backed off.
Would highly recommend this holiday and hope you get Emad (Dodi) Fathy as your guide.

Just returned from a fantastic holiday from Egypt. It was an amazing experience, loved all the trips and sites.
It was Dodi our tour guide who made the holiday so special, he was so knowledgeable, and looked after us so well. 5 ⭐️ for Dodi.

Anke our guide was friendly helpful and knowledgeable. Hotel was comfortable amd very central. Trips were excellent and well organised. This was our third trip with travel dept and none have disappointed.

Sincere thanks to Andrea and Lorenzo our excellent guides! They were attentive guides, but also historically highly knowledgeable, not just on the towns and cities we saw, but on the establishment of historical families and the background history on the establishment of some amazing churches/abbeys visited. Highlights included visits to Siena, Lucca Civita di Bagnoregio and Lake Bolsena. Thanks to our Casucci bus drivers who handled very winding roads. The tour took in good walks. Note that while some walks are not too long, they can have an incline going up and down, so bring a walking stick. Hotel President staff were helpful and provided a very good four-course dinner each evening. Great air conditioning, lovely towels etc. We had 37 wonderful walkers in our group. Thanks to everyone we met on the holiday! A serious recommendation is that the Travel Department needs to provide 2 guides for each of the 5 touring/walking days of the 7 days. This means each guide can take e.g. 16/17 tourists, which makes visiting smaller buildings easier as it can be done in two groups. We hope the Travel Department will consider this seriously, especially for a walking/touring group.
Recommendations? 1) ensure walking shoes/boots have good treads in case of slippery or muddy paths, and 2) have cash for tipping where applicable.
Lastly, we recommend Andrea and Lorenzo as travel guides on future Travel Department holidays.

A very well organised week in Sicily. The tours were well organised and appropriate with enjoyable rest days in between in UniHotels, which was a lovely resort with excellent facilities and immaculate well kept grounds, perfect for relaxing in.
Our Tour Guide for the week was the wonderful Salena, and she had so much interesting information to give us, no matter where we were. She was organised, caring and calm, always smiling and ensuring we had what we needed to give us the best experience and enjoyment of Sicily. Our driver Guiseppe was terrific, and obviously well used to the heart stopping winding roads providing us with breathtaking views of the stunning coastline.
The hotel restaurant food was exceptionally good, with great variety, and the wonderful Melina welcomed us to our tables every evening, making sure our glasses were never empty - and always with a smile and good humour.
A great Sicily experience, with thanks and great praise for Salena, Melina and Guisseppe.

Slovenia has to be one of the most beautiful countries I have ever been to, many of the views were like something out of a fairy tale. Lake Bohinj was a beautiful pristine lake that was an absolute privilege to swim in.

Our guide Natasa was great. She was polite, friendly and couldn't do enough for you.

The walks were challenging yet doable and ultimately very rewarding.
