Appalling
My wife and I booked on what we hoped would be a quality Agatha Christie tour, it was absolutely appalling.
No welcome when we got to the hotel.
The meal on the first evening was very slow with very poor service and no menu choice,
My wife asked for another piece of bread with her soup which never arrived, 45 minutes between courses, when the desserts arrived two guests didn't get anything until the staff were chased up, coffee was only served to half of us until we chased the staff up again.
We were so discusted we went home early the following morning.
We'll certainly never go with them again.

Mackintosh venues with fantastic tour guides!
The tour guides,Robin and Karen Cairns made this trip memorable! They both were so enthusiastic and brought the whole Mackintosh experience alive with their knowledge and Robin's jokes and comical tales. The venues were fantastic and we were able to have lunch in the first ever buiding designed by Mackintosh in Helensburgh, as well as the beautiful Hill House.
A Secret War Tour Beyond Outstanding!
I have been on many, many, battlefield tours over the years but this Secret War Tour with Travel Editions was truly outstanding. Well ahead of the rest and then some. I thought I knew what to expect but my expectations were greatly exceeded. Why? Because everything about it reeked of quality. We stayed in a superb hotel half board, had a comfortable coach with a superb driver, thank you Oskar! And the tour guide was superb, warm, friendly and highly professional (am I allowed to mention your name, Yvonne?) The guest speakers were the very best available, bar none, and the locations visited left one with a feeling of awe and wonderment. They just could not have been better. So much was packed into the programme that it took me four days to recover! This was a Secret War Tour beyond expectations and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you Travel Editions!

Absolutely brilliant trip, would deffo recommend!!
So we haven't officially finished the tour yet (we leave tomorrow) but I am very excited to write a really positive review! As an 18 year old gap year student, this wouldn't have been on my radar for a trip but I am thoroughly grateful that my great aunt invited me. We did the Neolithic sites of Malta and it was brilliant. The element of debate involved in this is fascinating and was a really great intro to the way archeology and prehistory works (and occasionally doesn't).
Also, as something we've never really covered in school, it was a super interesting week of immersion. Likewise it was great in broadening my cultural awareness, as my knowledge of Malta at all is very limited. The balance of history with sightseeing has been brilliant and I am really looking forward to showing the pictures and raving about this trip to my family and friends.
David was a fantastic guide, he knows what he's talking about and he enjoys what he is talking about. He made sure that the elements that needed to be clear always were, linking in his evening lectures with the sites we visited and bouncing very well off the local guides we used. He was also great to chat to in evening meals and throughout the day, would 10000% recommend!
Steve came too and was wonderful at organising things in the background and also providing general comic relief! He's a great storyteller and honestly deserves his own radio show 😀; his use of the microphone on the bus is gonna be up with my highlights (as well as the temples of course!!). At evening meals he would make sure that I (as a vegetarian) had enough options of food to eat and was just really great at accomodating for everyone's needs.
I genuinly don't think I can say enough good things or recommend this too much -especially to people closer to my age who may not be considering this as much. I would really really love to do something like this again, so yeah 10/10 and thank you very very much to Steve and David! 😀
Claim your refund via your credit card
I never did hear from Travel Editions. My mother eventually took up the issue with her credit card company. They refunded her the money in full that was owed to her. If you are chasing a refund with Travel Editions because of cancelled trip due to the Covid pandemic, please take the matter up with your credit card provider. You are legally entitled to a refund. Please do not be put off by what Travel Editions tell you.
The law is on your side and the UK Government Competition and Market Authority (CMA) have made that explicit and clear.
Breaking the Law
I would like to echo the remarks made by other recent reviews. This company has broken the law, its contractual obligations, and its word, by refusing to make refunds for cancelled tours until March 2021. It is therefore not to be trusted. I am hoping that the recent ruling against TUI will make them change their minds but I doubt it.

Extremely disappointed with this…
Extremely disappointed with this Company attitude regarding refunds, They refused point blank to reimburse my deposit after cancelling my trip, I pointed out they were breaking the law but it seems they don't have to comply with this. I approached my Credit card company and asked if I could have a refund, happily this took Six weeks for the monies to be refunded into my account. I would advise anyone who has been refused a refund to go down this route and stop this Company using customer money to fund its business.

Travel Editions / Mr Ed Coventry
Travel Editions / Mr Ed Coventry has not done himself any favours by expecting his Clients to fund his business by refusing to refund or carry forward etc monies on holidays due to Covid 19.
He has failed to support his Clients at this worrying time BUT expects his Clients to support him!
Any business no matter how big or small knows that if you don’t look after your Clients, they will go elsewhere. You are not doing yourself any favours Mr Coventry by your mishandling of a situation that other travel companies have dealt with in the correct and honourable manner.
FIRST RULE OF BUSINESS,NO CLIENTS, NO BUSINESS.
TAKE NOTE MR COVENTRY! LOOK AFTER YOUR CLIENTS OR THEY WONT LOOK AFTER YOU.

Refused to refund after they cancelled
Travel Editions cancelled our booking. I requested a refund, pointing out this was my entitlement in law. Firm replied, acknowledging the legal position but refusing point blank to refund me. Appalling attitude to customers. Bad experience. Will not be booking with them again. AVOID

Very unreasonable company to deal with -- not recommended
I am 71 years old and diabetic, and thus in the highest-risk group for COVID-19. I booked a New Scientist tour to Bologna and Florence scheduled to depart on March 3 through Travel Editions in January and paid in full at that time. By February 27, both the WHO and the US CDC had strongly advised against any but essential travel to Italy, but Travel Editions still planned the trip, saying "...at the moment the tour is still scheduled to go ahead as the FCO have not advised against travel to Italy..." (direct quote from 2/27 email from Nadine Mascoll, Reservations Manager). In my opinion, this was a very ill-advised decision, flying in the face of both international and US public health authorities. The upshot was that Travel Editions would not even discuss any sort of accommodation (such as credit towards the November departure of the same tour), claiming that they had "... paid our suppliers for this tour ..." (direct quote from 2/27 email from Nadine Mascoll, Reservations Manager), resulting in my having to forfeit the entire nearly $3,000 cost of the tour. I would strongly advise against doing business with a company that clearly places its own financial interests over the well-being of its customers.

Lake Annecy Christmas tour 2019
I travelled with this company on their Christmas tour 2019 to Lake Annecy. I would highly recommend this tour. Hotel was superb, the staff couldnt do enough for you and food was to die for. Daily coach trips were very good and the tour guide, Steve, was very helpful and full of advice.
Excellent Tour
I travelled with the real Travel Editions to the Netherlands on their Art Tour. It was excellent, exactly as in the brochure and the Utrecht hotel was a good 4 star establishment with comfortable rooms. The tour lived up to expectations.
One to avoid
I agree with others: this company is too bad for even one star. In particular, the Managing Director, Ed Coventry, does not take legitimate complaints and negative comments well or even accept that they might be justified and worth investigating. If you want to be herded around in a large group with a "Tour Manager" who can barely bother to speak to you and then have any negative comments ignored then good luck with that. Very inefficient (eg we were going to a show but were sent last year's programme which was quite different to this year's). Fortunately, there are so many other companies out there who do a much better job. This is one to avoid.
There are two travel editions
There are two travel editions, the one in London is the legitimate company, the online travel editions, are scammers, don't fall for it. They adopted travel editions, because they know people have an idea about the legitimacy of travel editions in London. I paid £400, to them. I got to know they are fraudsters, I requested for refund, they blocked me. Please anyone affected should report to national fraud prevention. These people must be stopped.
One star is too good for this company!
One star is too good for this company!
They are just thieves and know what they are doing!
I paid a deposit of £100 for a flight but the information which I was then supplied with made me wonder whether it was a legitimate company, I found out too late that my thoughts were correct.
I also got a form to fill out for a refund which states on it that it would take 8 to 10 days to process, they have came and went and, my calls have stopped being answered and emails failing to be delivered.
Do not get this company mixed up with the correct one, 01274066474 or 01274066476 are the company to stay away from.

I have just returned from 3 day trip to…
I have just returned from 3 day trip to Turin/Milan with Travel Editions. What an unfortunate experience. The tour was hardly 'managed' at all. The proposed itinerary was not adhered to and the whole experience was not enjoyable. I will not travel with this company again and would not recommend them. A very expensive trip which did not deliver. Avoid them.

Interesting to note that there is only…
Interesting to note that there is only one other review for this company (1 star) but the company is listed with a three-star rating. I just returned from a very expensive holiday organised by this company. I paid the premium for a special, arts-interest tour, on the basis of a detailed, interesting itinerary and the services of an expert guide. The itinerary was substantially ignored and while our guide may have been an expert, his English was minimal and incomprehensible. On the basis of this experience, I would not recommend Travel Editions, nor will I ever book again.

Very disappointing and an arrogant response
Travel Editions (traveleditions.co.uk) is a travel company targeting the 50+ retired traveller. We went on the Loire Valley trip, and the package includes Eurostar/TGV travel (second class!!) hotel accommodation and coach excursions to Chateaus and a couple of wineries. The train travel was ridiculously convoluted. I would have paid more for a more direct route. Neither were we made aware that we'd have to get our cases UPSTAIRS ON OUR OWN on a crowded TGV both ways, and many of our party were elderly with arthritis issues. One passenger was clearly unfit for the holiday and had B.O and should have been refused travel and refunded - he spoiled the holiday for everyone else. The hotel room was substandard and I'd have paid more for a better one - we were certainly not made aware we'd be given rooms where only ONE HALF of the wardrobe was actually a wardrobe, and the other half was just a solid ornamental mirror, and that the second winery we visited was an amateurish outfit not really geared up for UK tourists. The tour manager was helpful but no expert on the Loire and rambled and waffled. On being invited to give feedback and pointing all this out, the guy running the business, Ed Coventry, just got defensive and pointed out that everything was as delivered, and the negative aspects of the trip were just tough - no compensation or goodwill gesture was offered. I will never use them again.
