Travel lodge sedgefield

Travel lodge sedgefield - please send this to them as I believe they’re running an incentive.

Ok so I have to give a little background. My one year old son and I were made homeless. We showed up at the travel lodge and we were there for 6 weeks. I was welcomed by Cheryl. I love this woman. She was always great for a chat, a vent and a smile. She was so good with my son. All the receptionists were lovely. Becca gave me her old car seat her own children had grown out of. I am so grateful to her for this. Lovely bubbly woman! Please don’t feel excluded if I didn’t mention you! I think you’re all brilliant and as times go, wasn’t the worst time - I was working in a bathroom for a while but it became my home! This travel lodge in sedgefield has the most lovely staff manning the desk! Lovely women! What happens on night shift stays on night shift was my favourite quote! I was just making small talk lol! Maybe something to think about…. Negotiate a baby high chair to eliminate the need for food on the floor! I appreciate it’s not travel lodges issue but could be worth considering to help reduce pressure on your staff and cleaning! Love to all.

Disappointing stay - only positive was the staff

We stayed at Rhyl Travelodge recently and unfortunately, it was a very uncomfortable experience overall. The hotel was extremely noisy at night – children were running up and down the corridors, doors were constantly slamming, and the noise from the room above us made it difficult to get any sleep.

The room itself was sweltering, and while a small fan was provided, it barely made a difference. The condition of the room left much to be desired: paint was missing from the walls, the TV remote had no back, and the signal was weak with very few channels available. The bathroom was not clean on arrival, with noticeable hairs left behind – definitely not what you expect upon check-in.

Parking was limited, and we ended up having to leave the car on a nearby side street for part of our stay. This added inconvenience to an already underwhelming experience.

The atmosphere around the hotel was also quite intimidating, particularly at night. We were greeted by a group of guests outside reception, one with a barking bull-type dog on a chain and a pint in hand, with several others loitering nearby. We thought we'd stepped onto the set of Shameless. It didn’t feel like a safe or welcoming environment and certainly not what you expect when paying over £100 per night. Local residents even warned us about long-term guests at the hotel, referring to them as “predators,” which was deeply unsettling.

The one saving grace of our stay was the staff – they were genuinely friendly, polite, and tried their best to be helpful despite the circumstances.

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made to both the facilities and the general environment.

Well done Salford Quays

Enjoyed an overnight stay in Salford Quays Travelodge. Very welcoming (good work Izzy), lovely clean room, bar still open at 1am on returning from a gig at the Co-Op arena and a good breakfast in the morning. A great deal better all-round than a lot of more expensive places!

Asian Girl,Reeheem or Reedeemaha, whatever she said her name is!Reception,Broadway Plaza,Travel Lodge, five ways, Birmingham!

Is SHE A RACIST? on entering BIRMINGHAM TRAVEL LODGE at BROADWAY PLAZA near FIVE WAYS,reception was closed approx 12:30 noon,I called the number on the desk,a Asian lady appeared, with dyed blondish yellow hair/wig, named redeemed or redeema or something of the sort,I asked to confirm my 2 nights booking, she did,I had 1 access room for 1 night and 1 family room for tomo, she suggested I stay in the fam room for 2 nights, I said alright, let me check the fam room where I shall be placed, she said alright we have a few, one here, one there etc..., I said let me check the one near where I have booked before, we checked, I said let me check the shampoo dispenser is working and the drain dosent block in the bath, as this is a common thing in some of their hotels, everything looked fine, I noticed stains on the window sill, where the bed was close too, I said can I check one of the other rooms u suggested too then, she started huffing and puffing, when it was she that offered all in the first place, she made every excuse not to show me another room, so I said I just would like one with the window on another side of the wall ,(not squashed near the bed where it looked rottening on the sill), however, she said on walking up the passage way cause she was upset,( maybe she had coffee waiting for her in her break,or wanted to browse in a hurry on her phone) she started acting rude shaking her hands saying all the rooms are checked and there's nothing that's wrong with any rooms! I said, pardon, I have been staying in your hotels on and off for 3 years, and of course things go wrong, she said' Well I work here and NOTHING GOES WRONG WITH THE ROOMS?? I said last week they had to give me a mug of shampoo cause the dispenser was NOT working, and with respects sometimes the drain isn't working and is blocked, she started saying in the passage walk,JUST DONT TOUCH ANYTHING IN THE ROOM,JUST DONT TOUCH ANYTHING!! SHAKING HER HANDS,BEING VERY SARCASTIC AND RUDE!!,I replied u are not supposed to talk to customers like that, I was not touching beds, towels, sitting,or disturbing anything because obviously customers expect a neat room, I ran a tap, checked the dispensers, last thing I want is to get in from a hard day's work and get in the shower and there's NO SHAMPOO OR HANDWASH,or a BLOCKED DRAIN!,A however I checked the other room, and I said things do happen sometimes, she Raised her tone in a horrible way, like she was A BOSS, Let's go to the reception, blah blah blah, I said u don't talk to customers like that, and the customers always right, she filled the managers head SEAN WITH LIES, before he got to me,so when I saw him I explained what happened REDEEMA OR REHEEMA BLATANTLY LIED,SAID SHE NEVER SAID ANY OF THAT! AND THAT SHE NEVER SHOOK HER HANDS AND HEAD SAYIN IN HER SARCASRIC TONES DONT TOUCH ANYTHING JUST DONT TOUCH ANYTHING! SHE ALSO LIED BY STATING SHE HAD NEVER SAID THAT NOTHING EVER GOES WRONG!! THE MANAGER BELIEVED HER AFTER I HAD TOLD HIM THAT SHE IS BLATANTLY LYING,I SAID SMELL MY HANDS,I HAVE JUST CHECKED THE DISPENSERS(obviously the smell on my hands would somewhat proved her replies ,like her stating arrogantly dont touch anything! And all the rooms are checked AND THAT NOTHING EVER GOES WRONG,which would start slotting things in place!) AND BECAUSE I ASKED TO SEE ANOTHER ROOM IT WAS THEN THAT HER BEHAVIOUR HAD STARTED TURNING! I HAD PAID ALOT OF MONEY FOR 2 ROOMS, SHE THEN STARTED HER ARROGANT RUDE BEHAVIOR, THE MANAGER DID NOT REALLY WANT TO HEAR MY SIDE,AND WAS TELLING ME OFF INSTEAD OF DISCIPLINING THIS LYING ASIAN GIRL, SHE WAS ROLLING HER EYES AND PUTTING ON THE PERFECT LYING ACT! ANYBODY GOING THERE PLEASE PRESS RECORD ON UR PHONES AS SOON AS U SEE THIS ASIAN GIRL,I HAVE BEEN THERE A FEW TIMES, NEVER ANY PROBLEMS,LOVELY STAFF USUALLY,I had said to sean all she had to say (when she was grabbing at straws) iam sorry but we prefer customers not to touch,NOT IN A BAD MOOD SHAKING HER HANDS HER HEAD, AND TALKING LIKE SHE WAS ON THE STREETS TO SOME GANG! this lady was ignorant, aggressive, manipulating and a liar,I said to the manager SEAN,WHY ARE U SCHOOLING ME,THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT, WHY ARE U NOT DISCIPLINING HER?? I SAID THATS WRONG, HE SAID DONT SPEAK TO ME IN FRONT OF A CUSTOMER, HE SAID I WILL PUT YOUR NAME ACROSS THE TRAVEL LODGE/S TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT WELCOMED AGAIN, AT ONE STAGE I HAD TO ASK HER TO SWARE ON HER CHILDRENS LIFE THAT SHE IS NOT LYING, to prove my point and truth, AND GUESS WHAT? SHE ACTUALLY LIED ON HER OWN CHILDRENS LIVES!!!! NO CARE FOR ANYONE BUT HERSELF AND KEEPING HER JOB!!UTTERLY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR LYING IN FRONT OF ANOTHER WITNESS,WHO ALSO HAD TO CORRECT ONE OF HER LIES!!SHE HAS DEFAMED MY CHARACTER, AND NOW NEEDS SUEING!!I said to her you are NOT supposed to be working in front of the public with such lies and behaviour.I am still wondering if she was being RAC1ST!

This is a true story, you couldn't make it up!

Firstly, I am 56 & have never had need to complain about anything before. However, I stayed in one of their hotels in London early February 2025 for a couple of weeks, following a relationship break-up. During my stay I had an absolutely disgusting experience, that I feel obliged to share.

Secondly, I am not making this up & I have video evidence from the day.

During my stay I had noticed a foul smell, especially in the bathroom. However it came & went erratically, so I did not feel the urge to complain myself; not in my nature. Presumably other residents experienced similar, which will have led to the following. One day I was working in my hotel room, when I had a knock on the door. It was a plumber & not a Travel Lodge member of staff. The plumber advised that he was doing a bit of work for Travel Lodge in the corridor outside my room & that there would be a bit of disruption for a short period of time. I thought nothing further of it, thanked him & closed my door.

An hour later, as I popped out for a cigarette, I opened my door to what I can only describe as the worse smell that I have ever encountered. Basically, the plumber had taken the carpet up from the entire corridor, lifted all the sewer lids & was flushing the sewage system. The corridor had been cordoned off at both ends to prevent residents from accessing the corridor as it was an accident waiting to happen, whilst I was stuck in my room. Aside from the fact that leaving my room broke every health & Safety rule going, as I had to navigate pot holes, pipes, carpet etc; the stench was unimaginable. I believe that I was basically breathing in the faeces of seemingly every resident in the hotel. IT WAS SHOCKING!!!!
Anyways, I managed to get out of the corridor, over the obstructions, inhaling everyone's faeces & carefully (so I didn't break it) sliding through the plastic red & white warning tape they'd put up for residents safety. I got to reception, spoke to who I believed was the manager. I explained my experience, including the 'breathing in every other residents faeces' & she responded by bursting in raucous laughter. It was infectious & I burst into laughter too, because this was crackers??? Once I composed myself, I explained that this was not good enough & that I would like compensation. I did not ask for a lot, merely a voucher for just 1 nights stay. However, I insisted the voucher be of a high enough value, to cover the full cost of a 'family room' anywhere in the UK. Eg. £80-90. I explained that I intended to give the voucher to my step-daughter & her kids, to go stay in Scarborough Travel Lodge or similar. The manager readily agreed, and gave me her mobile number should I not receive the voucher.

A couple of weeks later, though I found it much later in my junk, I received an email with a voucher attached for circa £44. I replied to the email explaining I was promised a voucher with a value £80-90, & they replied to me that I should reach out to the hotel concerned. I presumed I had been replying to the hotel concerned. No problem I thought, because I had the manager's mobile. I rang the number numerous times over a week period, but it was never answered. I decided to send a polite text, with a brief summary & can she help? I heard nothing. Sent a second text with the same result. Finally, I sent a final text asking she reply or I will post the incident on the internet. Still, I heard nothing. Now the mobile must be correct because the manager wrote it down for me. I am now livid. I do intend to post the video to the internet, just not sure where to post it yet??

Finally, Travelodge typically offer clean & basic accommodation at cheap prices; you get what you pay for so no complaints there.

Travelodge Abbywood Bristol

Travelodge Abbywood Bristol
The Worst customer service i have ever received in any hotel I’ve ever stayed in rude from the moment I walked in, made to wait 15minutes to be buzzed in.

Then the door to be knocked late night to say the tv is too loud, then the guy needlessly stands outside my door for 10minutes after.

To go down in the morning to a manager that wasn’t even trying to listen to what I had to say.
Not to mention the toilet doesn’t flush and is filled with urine all night!

Absolutely disgusted with the service I’ve received will not recommend this place to anyone

Poor costumer service

I booked a double room at the Travelodge in Croydon Central for tonight, but their system automatically changed my booking date without clear notification. If you’re not paying close attention, you could end up booking for the wrong month. After correcting the date, the system also switched my room type from double to twin without any clear indication. By the time I realized the error and contacted customer service, they refused to amend the booking because it was after noon. Now I’m stuck with a room I never wanted, even though they have plenty of double and family rooms available. The system and customer service have been unhelpful and inflexible. Overall, a very frustrating experience.

I stayed at Liverpool Docks Travelodge…

I stayed at Liverpool Docks Travelodge February 2nd 2025. I would like to show my appreciation to the receptionist Alison. I can honestly say I have never met such a friendly, helpful, efficient and informative receptionist.

On arrival I was in reception waiting to be checked in, I overheard her checking-in the couple before me. My thoughts were 'What a lovely greeting' not just to me but to everyone.

After being checked-in I waited in reception for my friend to arrive, I witnessed Alison's friendly and helpful manner to all who passed through reception.
Alison's infectious enthusiasm never withered.

Alison you are a true ambassador, not only to the Travel lodge franchise but to Liverpool and you made my stay so enjoyable, when I return to Liverpool I will definitely book The Docks Travel lodge, not because of the hotel but because of YOU!!!!!

Tewkesbury Travel lodge review

I stay at Tewkesbury Travel lodge regularly, because I think it's one of the best travel lodges about.
It's well managed and clean, reception is very good and it's in a quiet spot a walk into Tewkesbury is possible to see the lovely abbey.
Staff are well trained/by management, and friendly and helpful.
It has a bar/cafe which is very good for food and drinks.although the menu is over complicated.
Breakfast is brilliant.so are the evening meals.
Rooms are a good size with excellent large shower.
Also has a large free carpark,and a lift.good wifi.
Only way it could be improved is with deals for weekends.like a free breakfast with two nights.
Some other lodges I stay at are just a room and a vending machine so I gave five stars to Tewkesbury travel lodge because it gives so much more.

We stay at the Heathrow Heston M4 EASTBOUND

We stay at the Heathrow Heston M4 Eastbound facility usually for a week at a time , at least twice a year . The staff are excellant, helpfull , always happy and upbeat , ready to ask if everything is ok. Cleaning staff always ask if we need anything. Rooms are good and comfortable with space. This is why we always choose this particular site over any others. Puts other sites and hotels into shame

2 friends went to Stratford on Avon 2

2 friends went to Stratford on Avon 2 - 5th May. We were given a disabled room & on querying this were told there were no twin rooms in the hotel apart from disabled rooms. I find it hard to believe that only couples stay at travelodges. There was no wardrobe, no drawers & the only place to put your belongings & clothes was the floor. There were no bedside cabinets & in the bathroom nowhere to put your toiletries except at the back of the toilet. Who wants to put their toothbrush behind the toilet ? The WiFi was only free for 30 minutes a day & the 30 minutes started from switch on so if you forgot to turn it off again your 30 minutes went pretty quickly. In the 21st century WiFi should be available when you need it Not just 30 Minutes a day. I always stay at Premier Inns but unfortunately this time they were fully booked. I will never use another travelodge I'd rather stay at home in comfort

Very poor accommodation

We stay every now and again with Travelodge and recently stayed for two nights at the Southport Travelodge.
For some reason we (and we noticed others too) were allocated to the top floor (6th floor). At check-in we were offered the chance of a lower floor but trying to be helpful and after being told it had a better view we accepted our allocated room.
This turned out to be a big mistake.
The view (peering out of our window covered in Pigeon droppings) was of the rear delivery yard of a Morrisons supermarket and was noisy with deliveries and work going.
In the room one of the 2 coffee mugs was stained and had a hair in it. I went into the corridor to a staff member doing the bedrooms who washed the mug saying they don't have spare ones. (We don't drink the allocated coffee as it's terrible so we bring our own)
The bed looked like it might be one of those you see on their website photos but
I suspected it might be an older version or if not just one that was well used as both my wife and I found it uncomfortable and we both had a bit of backache in the mornings.
Also in the bedroom, there was two plastic chairs, (yes 2!) But my wife noticed the layer of dust on them and dirt around the edge of the seat (obviously never cleaned) so we didn't want to sit on them until I got some toilet tissue which I wetted and used to wipe the chairs clean (should have brought some wet wipes with us!).
In the bathroom the shelf above the sink was sloping slightly and I tried to push it back (gently) into position and our toiletries fell off so we moved the majority onto the table in the bedroom. The hair & body wash in the shower had a broken cover which kept falling open even if it was very slightly touched. The hair & body wash and the soap over the sink both ran out (obviously not topped up enough for our stay)... didn't report this as couldn't do with the hassle of someone coming to the room so we used our own.
The shower had a very poor pressure, barely strong enough to rinse soap off your body. The sink tap water was only luke warm and again had a poor flow.
Other things like a tiny TV and insufficient storage and hanging space are the norm with Travelodge.
Whilst accepting that sometimes you get what you pay for and maybe we were just unlucky with our room allocation we felt these issues to be unacceptable and we wouldn't stay at the Southport Travelodge again as it was the worst one we had stayed at. Strangely the corridors and stair areas seemed in quite nice order, better looked after than the rooms!
We did mention some of these issues to reception to give feedback.

I recently stayed at the Travelodge Travelodge Edinburgh Central Queen Street

I recently stayed at the Travelodge Edinburgh Central Queen Street for two nights in a family room. While the room itself was clean, there were a few issues that significantly impacted our stay.

Firstly, there was no phone in the room, which made it difficult to contact reception or make requests without leaving the room. Additionally, the window was unusually small, making the room feel quite stuffy and limiting natural light.

The main issue, however, was the noise. I couldn’t sleep at all during my stay as the noise from the corridors and surrounding areas was unbearable. Every 15-30 minutes, I was awakened by the sound of doors banging, which was incredibly disruptive. We requested a room change from the receptionist, but we were told that there were guests with children, which explained the noise. However, the same level of disturbance occurred on the second night, and no solution was offered.

When I approached the staff at reception to express my dissatisfaction, I was met with a complete lack of professionalism. They didn’t apologise or offer any assistance; instead, they simply stared at me, which I found rude and unhelpful.

Overall, I was disappointed with my experience, especially given the price and location of the hotel. I hope the management addresses these issues for future guests.

Helpful Staff

We stayed at the Travelodge London Central Farringdon on 9th April. The lady receptionist who checked us in at midday was very helpful. Unfortunately I didn’t get her name. We had booked a Super Room and it was very good but the coffee maker wasn’t working. As it was late at night when I discovered this I didn’t do anything about it. When we booked out the following morning Maya asked how our stay had been. She was most apologetic when I informed her about the coffee maker. She gave us advice for any future visit. We will return to this hotel. Good value, very clean and a great shower. Conveniently based for where we want to go
