Our Journey Through the Rockies
We had an amazing holiday experience with Travelmarvel Tours. Our tour director and driver were experienced and knowledgeable individuals.
Some of our hotels could have done better on facilities, but overall very comfortable accommodation.
Our trip on the Rocky Mountaineer train was second to none, amazing, attentive and informative staff;
very comfortable seating and excellent dining.
We had the opportunity of meeting like-minded and friendly individuals.

the ship is good as are all the crew
the ship is good as are all the crew. The trips seem to be well organised and show the highlights of the area.
I do feel the breakfast was not up to the standard on our last trip on Vega and the entertainment officer was nowhere near the excellence of the one on Vega.
We will see how they compare to our next one with you.

Douro River Cruise
This was our first ever river cruise, we were blown away by the high levels of customer service. The nautical crew, kitchen/restaurant staff and in particular the housekeeping staff were amazing. The ship,obviously fairly new,was in excellent condition. The scenery was absolutely stunning. We are now planning ahead for next year, looking at the Amsterdam to Budapest cruise, obviously with Travel marvel. Only Plaudits from me.

Evening meals very disappointing
Evening meals very disappointing, poor quality and variety. Very basic small portions with minimal and strange choice of vegetables.
Evening “entertainment “ was extremely poor with untalented and incompetent presenters.

Bucharest to Budapest, our trip.
We enjoyed Roland the cruise director's input & the two evening hosts were very good. The food, drink & accommodation were excellent. Especially as we had an upgrade, dont know why but appreciated & the free drinks package. Due to the weather Roland had to think on his feet & organise activities to tie in with where we were docked. Shame we missed some parts due to lack of water, but I have booked another trip for next year. So we definitely enjoyed ourselves. Only 4 stars because of the delays to all of flights and the reluctance of KLM to manage our claim for a 4 hour delay flying to Bucharest. All of our flights were booked with KLM but they subcontracted them out & are not taking any responsibility for their actions.

Great Holiday

What a fantastic holiday
What a fantastic holiday. Exceeded all expectations despite being a previous customer.
Cabin was great - good to see the tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Thought I would want this previously but we never used them. All our time was spent in the lounge, on top deck or out and about.
Day tours were interesting and for the cruise director to pull out all the stops on the last night was above and beyond. A memory to cherish!
Had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Fantastic service and great food. Tried to cut back on what we were eating by going to the ‘pub’ for lunch. It really was too far from the kitchen. Food not replenished and really poor selection vs previous. Please change back to the lounge!

Good value but other failings
Good value, crew and entertainment very good.
Food average compared with other cruise ships. Drinks limited e.g. wheat beer on menu but on first day they said it was the last bottle but would be restocked at a port. Turns out that port was the final one on the cruise so left to choose between Bitburger (a very average lager) and Guinness (poor taste compared with Irish pubs). Pre cruise there was a list of tours and price paid said tours included. When on board many of the free tours were chargeable, some costing over 100 euros per person which was very misleading at time of booking.

Wonderful cruise aboard Caledonian Sky
The help we received from the crew and staff aboard Caledonian Sky was exemplary. My husband has mobility problems and was assisted (discretely!) whenever necessary. The boat crew were professional and kind, and the bar staff brilliant in anticipating his requests. Unfortunately, he couldn't disembark too often but was quite happy on the ship with the library and the balcony of our cabin from which he could observe toing and froing of marine activity. There was a very friendly atmosphere aboard and the staff were fantastic; friendly but not intrusive. Obviously well-trained and well chosen for the ship. We'd certainly use the ship again - small enough not to be impersonal but large enough to provide personal space. As for the food.....! wonderful choice even for vegetarian me. And excellent wine varieties. Pre- and post cruise hotel choices were convenient.

Only one complaint - the itinerary gave a meet outside the cathedral at 12.45 to take us to the coach for lunch but food excellent
only one complaint the itinerary gave a meet outside the cathedral at 12:45 in Salamanca to take us to the couch for lunch but no one met us ( two 80 + in the heat ). We heard that the organised tour finished early but we had self guided ( after telling 3 guides that was our intent ) + were there before time + could not understand why there were no other fellow travellers ! When eventually we rejoined them our reception was chilly !
