Quick and easy way to get better price for my car

Impressed with the prompt telephone communication following my web enquiry, were very quick to arrange an appointment to come and view the car and were able to offer me a better price than the trade in with the dealership I was buying my new car through. The person who completed the valuation was professional, punctual and helped to reassure me that it was safe for me to agree the sale and hand over my V5 and keys ahead of the money actually hitting my account. Money arrived in my account on the date specified and whole process was very easy

Unless you are absolutely desperate for …

Unless you are absolutely desperate for cash, and have exhausted every other possible option, don't bother. There is no intention whatsoever of honouring the online valuation. The person who came to look at my car commented on how pristine it was in terms of condition and cleanliness. He agreed entirely that it was in exceptional condition for its age, and that the mileage and all service documents etc were intact and as described. The online valuation was £2200, the actual offer was £1500. The only explanation for this was something about there being lots of volkswagen polos on the market. This is obviously nonsense. This would presumably have been a factor which influenced the online valuation, and doesn't explain why the valuation was then lowered once the car was viewed. It would also presumably mean that it it a popular car! (which it clearly is). Don't bother with these complete scumbags.

Ten minutes before a confirmed appointment told to expect a third less !!!

Ten minutes before a confirmed appointment I received a call from TrustedCarBuyers office to say that their valuation system had made an error and to expect an offer of £800 to £900 less than advised on the website, even taking into account some declared minor damage which had already reduced the price. It was explained that the reduction was the result of having TOO LOW total mileage for the age of car !! 23K on a 8 year old car. In addition as it was three door "the ,market conditions" were cited as a reason to reduce the price.
How absurd. They run a valuation system that does not work even though you declare all in good faith and does not "know" what the market prices are trending. All one sided in my opinion and needs a good TS investigation.
I hope anyone reading this takes note as they wasted my time. It's not private buyers you have to consider for this reputation, include TrustedCarBuyers.....

Terrible service

Terrible service, a real con - STEER CLEAR.

I had an online valuation, and arranged an appointment to have my car valued at the Oldham 'branch'. I drove to their alleged' centre on parsons Street in Oldham. I arrived 5 mins before the appointment time and could not find the company. I asked several businesses on the street, garages, and they had never heard of TrustedCarBuyers!

So I rang the number, and after a very long time the call was answered by someone who said they had no records of my appointment! (See attached email screenshot). I had two emails, and two text messages confirming. The guy then told me they didn't have an Oldham centre, per se, but they'd send a guy to come and check my car... could I be available "all day?".

Looks like this is a shoddy operation, (one/two man-band?) I only ever heard or spoke to Darren. Poor service, poor operating procedures, poor customer complaint resolution. Then later that day Darren sent me an email telling me they got my valuation wrong (they never saw my car, so how did this quote change withing 5 HOURS, with no more additional information?)

Don't waste your time with this amateur outfit, go to WEBUYANYCAR.

Mike

Misleading valuatoins

Having decided to sell my Range Rover Evoque I submitted details to webuyanycar.com. They gave a valuation which seemed reasonable. On an internet search I came across Trusted Buyers and submitted a valuation request. As advertised the price offered was higher than webuyanycar.com.

A day before my appointment I received a call telling me why the price offered wouldn't be met and that rather than the valuation notified it would be at least £1,200 lower. I was asked if I still wanted the appointment. I cancelled it as I had an appointment with webuyanycar the following day.

I sold my car at that appointment for the valuation offered.

Disappointed with the Trusted Buyers approach and wouldn't recommend them as I would webuyanycar.

Excellent service from Shaun

Excellent service. After an online search I received a phone call to clarify some points and then an appointment made at my home the same day for the valuer to come out. Shaun arrived on time and was very thorough checking the car and explaining as he did so. He gave a fair price and the funds arrived in my account exactly as he said they would.
When I realised a couple of days after the sale that I'd left an item in my car, Shaun came to the rescue and posted it back to me. I would certainly recommend trustedcarbuyer.com

With an abundance of distrust in my baggage from previous encounters with cars dealers etc, I sold my car to trustedcarbuyers.com. Shaun Copp and the whole team were fair and worked very professionally throughout and were very good at calming my nerves. With regards to negotiations they were again fair and transfered the monies through when the vehicle was collected. Top job!

An absolute joke of a company

An absolute joke of a company and a total waste of time.

We booked a collection for Saturday (9:00-13:00) only to be told that "it did not show on their system" when we both had a confirmation email and could still see the booking when checking online. What is more, we were told on the phone that the valuation was wrong as the "system thought the car was too young as the mileage was too low" and told us that we should expect at least £1,000 less! Totally outrageous and a waste of time!

Hassle free experience

Shaun Copp was very friendly and professional and made the whole process stress free, a totally different experience from my dealings with WBAC previously. He came to my house on Saturday morning - I had a figure in my mind as to what I wanted and was offered a lower price. In no hurry to sell I put it up privately and had some interest but Shaun called me on Monday and had negotiated my offer to my asking price - the car was picked up in my lunch hour the following day and the money in my bank when stated it would be. Would recommend Shaun to any of my friends looking to sell their car. Well done Shaun!!!!

Wonderful experience

I needed to sell my car. They were professional and I got the price I wanted. Shaun Copp was the sales representative and I was thoroughly impressed by his professionalism. A complete pleasure dealing with him. I would use them again and have no problem recommending Shaun if someone wants to sell a car.

Quick and easy

Quick and easy. I booked an appointment because my insurance had expired and I wanted to sell it with no hassle. They attended the same day to my house. A nice man checked my Vauxhall Insignia over and gave me a good price. Money was put in my bank and the car was collected. 😀😀😀

Absolute joke of a company!!

Do not trust this company. As most people have already said, the price given online was soon 'revised' after a phone call citing 'market conditions'

However, this was the not the biggest issue. I wasted an hour of my time driving to one of their local valuers, only to find that there is nothing there. Just residential property. Upon calling them, you get through to what I can only assume a second hand car dealership in their Manchester head office. After one member of staff tried to find the location themselves on Google maps, the supervisor then admitted they were left a message by the valuer stating they were 'stuck in traffic on their way back from picking up a car in London'.

The whole experience was thoroughly unprofessional and sounded like a company that should probably feature on BBC Rouge Traders! If you have to use one of these types of companies to sell your car, stick with someone that can be trusted like We Buy Any Car.
