TrustonTap is an introductory care agency, helping older people across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire to stay at home, independently, for as long as possible with trusted, affordable care and support on tap. We know that finding suitable care can often be very difficult and we want to make this easier for those receiving care, their families and/or healthcare professionals. We understand that good care is all about relationships and that short visits with different carers every day, do not work for carers or those they care for. Whether you or your loved one needs a carer to help with washing or dressing, pick up a prescription, help with administration or simply to have someone to chat to, TrustonTap can introduce you to trained, experienced and vetted carers living in your local area.

This company shouldn't be anywhere near people needing care. Their office staff are incompetent and transactional, and showed no awareness of, care towards or indeed trust warranted, in relation to the actual function of their company - providing care. The clue's in the name. It would be helpful if you actually cared?

Thank you for your feedback.
We’re sorry that this initial enquiry did not progress as hoped. In all cases, we are only able to proceed with care once verified funding is in place, which unfortunately was not confirmed on this occasion.
As a result, no booking was made and no care was provided.

Proactive and helpful

Very happy with proactive and responsive help given by TrustonTap team. They quickly sent through a good range of carers who could provide the care my mother requires. Also as my mother’s care requirements are a bit unclear the team has worked with me to come up with short and longer term solutions. The carers we have booked through TrustonTap have met all our expectations.

Issues with office, no understanding of direct payment.

Contacted TOT for a client that has a direct payment and in complete control of who they hire and the payment, and no social worker. Interviewed a nice carer who wanted the position. However the office didn't understand or seam to understand that the client was in full control of funding. Even though many emails as didn't call us. Client does not have a social worker and TOT kept asking for a letter to confirm funding from social worker. Client has a direct payment so full control etc I kept going around in circles, potentially leaving my client without care and carer without a potential client.
All TOT do is introduce carer to client, and deduct money from each invoice from the carer. Sadly the carer has been let down by TOT and we will employ elsewhere. I hope that William the director of this company, gives training to staff about direct payment and the art of listening and communication.

6.5.24 Thank you for your reply.
I am employed by this client as is the other carers. Direct payment is where the client is given some funding towards care. The client is in full control of who is hired. A management company pay all invoices based on hours client puts forward for payment. The only person that you needed to except was the client. You made them feel inadequate. Never has the client been asked for this information in 15 years of care. It would of been nice to have had a conversation instead of email tennis. The client lost all trust on TOT and thought the service he received was rude. The client thought if you cannot get a simple task such as listening and sending a invoice. Then what other issues could there be. I would like however to say personally what a very nice carer you put forward.
The information that you were asking for in my years of working with this client is not available.

Monique,

As I understand it, you are a private carer who has your own clients outside of TrustonTap. You needed some support for 2 hours a week for one of your clients and approached us seeking help. We would not normally do this but we’re keen to help if we could. We found someone suitable but were unable to finalise the booking as you could not give us the proof we required that the council would be paying for the care

We always ask clients for proof of Direct Payments where the care is fully funded as we have had some instances in the past where the Local Authority had not agreed to fund the care and we could not get payment for the services that the carer had provided.

As a carer yourself, I am sure you can understand that we want to avoid this at all costs. Carers deserve all the protection we can give them and our process is designed to ensure they get the pay that they have earned. Our process has been fully agreed with the Direct Payments team in Oxfordshire County Council.

Asking for proof has not been a problem before as all we are asking for is a copy of the letter from the Local Authority that had been sent to confirm this. Nevertheless, we appreciate that in your case it has been a problem and would be keen to understand how we could have handled this better.

In the spirit of listening and communication, I will try and arrange a time to connect with you in the coming week.

Value for money care agency. …

Really helpful when trying to source care for my parents. Reasonable rates and good service. Slight comms breakdown on one occasion but better than other experiences I’ve had. Carers have all been good.

My husband wasn't happy

I booked for my husband as I was going in hospital for the day and overnight. I arranged for the lady to meet my husband and arranged times for her to come and that he needed company during these times, as he was able to do most other things himself. As I wasn't there my husband said when she did turn up she just sat there reading the paper, there was no conversation. He said he would have been better on his own. My husband does get on well with people so I can't really understand why things didn't go well, I did explain he was hard of hearing so maybe this was the problem.

Carole, I am really sorry to hear this and this is not the experience we would have wanted your husband to have.
I have spoken to the carer about it and she recalls that, on her first visit, she had tried to have a conversation with your husband but that he did not want to talk. She said he kept looking at her and not replying and that her interpretation was that he did not want to talk. She had thought that he had heard her and is most apologetic if she had misinterpreted the situation.
The next day when she visited he made it clear to her that she did not need to be there as he could cope on her own.
I am sorry about your experience and do hope that you wiil come back to us again if you need help in the future, whether it is just for a short-term arrangement or for some longer term care. Please feel free to ring if we can help

Carers from Truston Tap have helped look after first my Dad and now my Mum. Dad had dementia and Stephen took him out, helped with his personal care, and kept him company. Mum struggles with mobility. Fay helps with tricky tasks around the house and is great company for Mum at the end of the day. Both are lovely people in whom I have great confidence. Truston Tap administration is fast and efficient, staff are a pleasure to deal with.

Excellent company

I chose to go self employed as a carer. I found Trustontap on google. Phoned them up and spoke to someone about setting up a profile. It was easy. I was given advice on how to do this, the opportunity to update my carers certificate. The online portal is easy to navigate. Great in house team. Helpful, professional, understanding and efficient. You get emailed with plenty of opportunities. I would totally recommend Trustontap. I’m coming away for personal reasons but once I’m sorted , I’ll definitely return. It’s weekly pay. You choose your hours and clients.

EXCELLENT!

I have been working with trust on Tap for 6 months now and I can honestly say they are fantastic in every way.
From communication, assistance, matching suitable carers to clients and with just general helpfulness and friendliness they are outstanding. My clients also say they are by far the best agency they have ever used and recommend them whole heartedly if you require a carer/companion at any point for yourself or a loved one.

A huge relief!

From my first exploratory phonecall to the morning my father’s new carer, Anna, arrived at our house, everything Trust on Tap did was to an excellent standard.
The service they provide is prompt, caring, efficient, helpful and professional. As a result we were both relieved.
Anna has greatly improved both my father’s life and, as a result, mine.
Trust on Tap delivered a great match at a difficult time for us!

The ONLY criticism I'd have is that although on the email you said both Daniel and Ambreen were free for the days we wanted, they're actually both away and not back till next week! I'd already gone down the line of booking etc - not a huge problem but thought I'd mention! Many thanks for your help....

TrustonTap an excellent home care provider with the human touch

TrustonTap provided me with full profiles of 4 carers for whom I selected one. Stacy P the chosen carer provided me with excellent support carrying out the full gamut of care duties involved with looking after a 97 year old with advanced dementia. In addition she was a thoroughly nice person and very hard working. When I had to end the 6 week contract early because my mother had to be admitted to a care home and then subsequently passed away the company kindly waived the 1 week period of notice that is usually necessary when contracts are terminated early. I have no hesitation in recommending this company to others.

Great service

This company has been easy to use
I have found great care at short notice .
I was looking for care for my 96 year old father who was not keen and insistent he didnt require care. I found Ewa very efficient friendly and easy to get along with, she won my father over and he is now happy with her daily visits. I would also mention Mollie who was professional and reliable and very patient with my father .

I needed a good local carer urgently a week before Christmas.
I looked up local agencies and TrustOnTap appeared.
Within 24 hours of applying I had a reply with a suitable match.
The carer came to see us and started the following week.
Everything is transparent and no hidden surprises.
The carer was just a temporary measure however we have decided to take her on permanently.
The prices are good too with no hidden extras.
Management and customer care are also easy to contact and very pleasant to deal with.
Very lucky to
