I went in to get my car appraised
I went in to get my car appraised. I understood the sales tactic and expected to receive a lowball offer, which was a lot less than I was expecting but knew it was a sales tactic and that’s what they are paid to do. Fully understood what they were doing.
More than this I was mostly disappointed by the customer interaction. From the start the consultant I was dealing with didn’t appear welcoming, didn’t seem happy because I booked the day before (using their system which had availability on this day and even in earlier time slots than I went) and called my car “undesirable” - great comments for enticing a customer who is willing to sell their car to you lol took it to some other high end dealers who spent at least 20 mins inspecting my vehicle, gave me great comments on it and even offered me between $6K - $8K more and was appalled by the service from Turners when I shared my experience with them.
It doesn’t matter if you want to make a sale or not, and doesn’t matter what role you do whether your the CEO or front line staff - you have to make people feel valued, respected, and genuinely interested above any agendas your may have, and I didn’t get that at all in my interactions. Just cause you are trying to make a sale doesn’t mean you have to make customers feel like that. Interesting that the TV ads say “you should have brought it to Turners” - I did and I definitely won’t again 😂
Poor sales experience
No bids over 3 auctions for a very saleable car and 1 bid at a ridiculous price. Turners obviously don't get enough buyers to justify the cost of selling through them. Would not do this again.
Use trademe instead!
Do not let them convince you to let them auction your car- for a car as low as 4-5 k they'll make you pay ~ 400-500 in fees and make the buyer pay that again, making a nice 1k fee off your 4k car, plus they run auctions at weird times. just use trade me and pay only ~100 there.
also, their "cashnow" scheme consists of ripping you off for your car, plus staff were super unprofessional about having a look at my car, told me to come in another day 2 days in a row (whilst expecting me) only to tell me they wern't interested
Poor communication and no care about customer
We left our car a couple of months ago to Turners Christchurch for selling due to our move overseas. Since then they hardly have replied our phone and emails. The last email, someone with name Benjamin Jackson sent an email that they couldn't sell our car at Auction and we have to pay a fee to bring the car out. They are not professional at all and they are very poor at communication. Now it's two weeks we are continuously contacting them to organise and deliver our great car and leave it to a friend for selling but they are not answering our international call or our friend's domestic call. Very disappointing and wouldn't recommend Turners to anyone. This is our second bad experience with this company in Christchurch.
Never again will I ever purchase a car from this companyI had purchased a car that from the…
I had purchased a car that from the start had some major issues that Turners Hamilton had promised me they would fix and hence they did not need to refund me as requested because they were willing to fix the braking issues and extreme lagging issue. Weeks went by with the car off the road more than it could be driven and after an extensive time of taking the car to their suggested mechanics and the very same business that put the WOF on the car, of course found no problems. After getting an independent inspection done of the car faults were found that Turners were responsible to repair, which they then told me to take the matter to court. Dishonest rip offs. My advice is to look a
elsewhere if you want to purchase a car.

Would never deal with them again after hiw we were treated at Albany!
Get an independent inspection (AA, VTNZ etc)
Their condition guide brought up 1 minor cosmetic issue. I got an independent AA inspection which brought up many mechanical and cosmetic issues that not only would have cost $4500+ to fix, but they were dangerous as well.
DO NOT TRUST THEIR CONDITION GUIDE
Get an independent inspection done or you'll be sorry.
DO NOT buy from the Porirua branch!!
DO NOT buy from the Porirua branch!!
Their "100 point check system" is a lie. My pre-inspection found a couple failures, despite them saying they "passed".
I asked them to fix it, and they delayed the fixing so they could sell it to another person, which was what happened. Contacting them is a nightmare as well.
Do not bother.
Poor standees bought car from Otahuhu brunch.
I bought car from Otahuhu brunch.
The car I went to pick up was all dented not same as on photos. Roy promised me to polished and buffed the car.
I was purchased different car at the end.
I was 3 times there. They didn’t give me my ownership document. The car was covered with fingers prints, dusty, front lights stained.
There was water in the boot for 10 days from first car wash.
Re boot gets rusty.
Roy sales men said I should pay $1000 to polish and vaccinated the car.
They didn’t reply me emails. Roy sent me a rough message that I should pick up my ownership and I have to deal with him.
I found service is extremely poor. I wouldn’t use them again, I wouldn’t recommend them.

Really disappointing we could not get a written vehicle appraisal. Offering half the price of what it would sell for.
Not so sure about North Shore
Bought a car at Westgate and service was great! Went to Northshore and service is non existent! I would rather go somewhere else or go back to Westgate but will never buy from Northshore!

BOUGHT VERY INEXPENSIVE CAR FROM TURNERS AVALON DRIVE HAMILTON.SERIICE WAS OK SALES PEOPLE WERE ALL HAPPY AND TREATED US WELL EVENTHOUGH WE WERE ONLY SPENDING SMALL DOLLARS.MY BIG PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN I WENT LOOKING FOR THE JACK AND TOOL KIT THERE WAS NOT ONE IN THE CAR.I HAD DRIVEN 250K HOME WITH ON WAY OF CHANGING A FLAT TYRE IF I HAD NEEDED TO.
Very disappointed
Very disappointed, sales people jump around, had 3 different people help me, had been given a car to test drive, when I said I wanted to buy it, I was told I cant as not for sale anymore. The sale dude looked at the wrong screen. Most certainly wont go there again, second time that they have wasted my time.
New subscription service has potential but needs to be improved
We used the new subscription service offered by Turners which allows a selection of their available vehicles to be subscribed to (ie a short term lease with fortnightly payments and 30 day minimum, 30 day notice). We needed a car for a month, and we were able to secure a better car at a better price than a typical rental service.
However, it was a challenging experience that required perseverance from the start.
- The website does a poor job of explaining how it works and the terms of use.
- The website requires the user to select from available products and setup an account before you can subscribe, however the website portal was not accessible from overseas.
- A car can only be subscribed to within 2 weeks of the start period, but there are no guarantees there will be available cars.
- After accessing it locally, the vehicles it displayed as available locally were not actually available for subscription.
- When visiting the local branch to see the which vehicles were there, the branch staff cannot help sign up a subscription, instead referring to the 'Subscription team'.
- The general customer care call centre have had very little education on the subscription business model, also referring to the 'Subscription team'.
- After weeks of running around in circles, the 'Subscription team' - seemingly a single person in Auckland running the entire subscription business, got in touch and we secured a vehicle.
- Pick up and drop off at the branch went smoothly, and we were very happy with the use of the car. But the final kick in the stones was that we received a $100 bill for cleaning the car, despite it being unclear that was our responsibility. We accept accountability and didn't question it, but we had cleaned it inside and out during the week so it was no more than a few days of dirtiness - Something that a standard car clean at Turners would have fixed, which I'm sure they do to every car on the yard regularly.
Overall, it's a good value proposition for customers, but the actual customer experience was 2 star and I would look for competitor offers before returning to Turners.
Damaged car with missing part.
I bought a car online from Turners Porirua. However when the car was delivered to me it had missing parts and scratches in several places which were not shown on the photos.
The dashboard has a socket for an SD card which wasn’t in the car however the dashboard keeps prompting for it to be inserted. As a result it can’t perform the actions it’s supposed to and was advertised as having.
When I contacted the staff and manager they lied to me saying my model wasn’t fitted with it. However the whole system is fitted/ built in and the slot for the card is right there on the centre panel. How could it not come with it??? It’s right there (but can’t work without the card)
They treated me like an idiot, maybe because I’m “a woman who doesn’t know anything about cars” or because I’m disabled it makes me stupid too. was looking for a car with very specific functions and the car I bought comes with those functions but only if the SD card is inserted into the slot provided for it.
After multiple requests and emails I finally received an email saying that they would send me an SD card. It’s been months and I’m still waiting.
They stopped responding to my emails.
I now sit with a car full of scratches and only about half the functions it was advertised as having. Therefore I asked them for either the specifications they advertised or my money back.
Still haven’t heard back from them.
Buying from Turners has been a nightmare right from the start. Walk away. These people are dishonest and swindlers. Don’t get caught like I did.
Will never buy another car form…
Will never buy another car form Turners. not worth the Headache
Disappointed with the service of…
Disappointed with the service of Turners, Te Rapa Hamilton Branch. I made a request for change of Postal Address and Insurance Joint Policy. The Manager acknowledge this request upon purchased. However, after a few days, weeks and months of making a follow up with my concern. She just hang up all my calls and didnt even bother to answer all my emails. After sales with customer service with Turners is a major disappointment.

Terrible company and cars are awful quality. Sales team has very minimal knowledge of what they're selling. Avoid snd don't get ripped off.
Bad customer service
I was in tiuch for a bmw z4 woth Desian in rotorua branch since last week. I told him i have got my finance approved and i would like to view the car. He said he will book me in but can't take the listing off the market place until finalised. I told him its alright. I will come for viewing and if i like it, i will finalise it then and there and we will discuss the pricing and also i wamted AA pre inspection. I told him i have a couple of more options but i prefer buying from dealer so if i like the car, i will finalise it. He was fine with that. I booked in for sunday i.e today. He asked few details and said will put you in system. He said we dont have any viewing for the car but he will let me know if any other person is interested in same car. Today i called them and rescheduled the viewing an hour early. I reached there from Hamilton and they said its sold....All of myefforts, fuel, time and the whole day was wasted because of this. I would have gone for viewing for other cars instead rather than wasting my time driving up there.
I dint understand when you booked a viewing with me when there was no other viewings for the same car. I should be the one to view and make decision there.
I almost booked the inspection from AA for monday but something clicked and i cancelled the transaction. What if i have had booked the inspection?
