Tutor House…

I have been a tutor with Tutor House for a long while now. The platform doesn't seem to function and has security issues. I have asked to be removed several times now but I've had no response and there is no option for me to cancel my account myself. Not happy.

Wish I could rate zero

Wish I could rate zero.

They emailed me someone else’s details, the website doesn’t function. The tutor tried to cancel the appointment but I didn’t receive any messages. Now I have been charged for something I haven’t received for no fault of my own.

Their phone number doesn’t work, the emails go unanswered and the support site doesn’t work. Clearly a bunch of scammers. I suggest you avoid.

Parent care and attention.

In a meeting with the Tutor House care home manager and a care home facilitator they only made excuses as to why our concerns to improve my dad's quality of care wouldn't improve and put the responsibility on my 87 year old mother. We pay them to look after our dad what are they there for if they cant do simple tasks?

1) They are washing his electric razor under running water. Not using a brush. The razor was all plugged up and would turn.
2) his dentures would go missing costing my 87 year old mom to pay $2000.00 for replacement and they refused to do daily checks to see if they had them when he went to bed each night. They wouldn't tell us his dentures went missing.
3) His rechargeable hearing aids, on multiple days still on going, one may not work or both would not work. The staff wouldn't do any maintenance sush as a simple clean to remove wax. They would say if they placed his hearing aids on the charger properly to make sure they were charging.
=simple tasks of accountability to improve my dad quality of life they cant handle and only make excuses as they have 79 other people to look after. They refuse to put simple steps in place so small issues could be addressed. They hide behind a signed paper they force us to sign when my dad was admitted waiving responsibility of there workers and operation.

I have been scammed several times - Tutor House has security issues

I have been scammed several times by this site - I have asked them to remove me from their site, but they are not responding. I get most of my work via FirstTutors and have found them so much more responsive and more importantly 'safe' and transparent.

Strange interview experience

Strange interview experience. I wanted to work as a tutor for this company. I had to schedule a zoom meeting with someone living in the UAE. The lady on the call sent me a website to sign up. This website was reported as unsafe by my browser. The page was an Egyptian webpage and there were money symbols...

Disappointing Experience and Poor Communication

I hired TutorHouse to tutor my son in Science and Maths. After a few sessions, we have decided to look elsewhere. Despite notifying TutorHouse that I was being bcc'd or directly included in emails to other clients, breaching the Data Protection Act, this issue continued.

We found a tutor who could cover both GCSE Science and Maths, providing flexibility in sessions. The first session with TutorHouse was great, but subsequent sessions were disappointing. My son left the second session more confused than when he went in to it, and during the third session, the tutor didn't believe my son about his study subjects and spent part of our paid time explaining the workings of a router to his mother. The session ended early, leaving us feeling we didn’t get our money’s worth at £52.50 per session.

Moreover, their claim of being contactable 24/7 is misleading. Despite showing availability for live chat, they don’t respond in the evening. I waited over 12 hours and had to chase a response via live chat, email, and phone calls. Booking adjustments can only be made by customer services, who are unresponsive.

Overall, the service was not worth the cost and definitely not worth more than a 1* review.

The tutor did not show up for my trial…

The tutor did not show up for my trial lesson but instead messaged me to meet on Skype at a different time despite confirming the correct time twice.
I asked to delete my account and instead the company spammed me with over 30 emails and no stop calls. I had to block all numbers and email addresses.

Tutor House has brilliant tutors …

Tutor House has brilliant tutors for various subjects that can make real difference to your child's achievement. But management of the page has problems. Often you will get not working dashboard, hard to book lesson on different time. The worst thing is that is you press Confirm, your money is gonne. If you want to change time or day, you will pay again. Cancelled lesson does not give your money back despite multiple promises of refund. The best way is to confirm just before the lesson. Tutors on this page are really good, but management of site is poor.

Smooth and seamless service from Tutorhouse itself, good at keeping in touch and useful offers available.
Above all, I cannot speak highly enough of David M. - our son’s A level Physics journey would not have been the same without his support.

i’ve had a fantastic experience

i’ve had a fantastic experience with Tutor house-I found a wonderful Spanish teacher at very short notice, their interface online setting up lessons was very simple and logging onto their classroom- Very easy. If you’re a mum looking for support for your child during exams I would highly recommend this company. This was my third child going through GCSEs and I wish Tutor House been around for my other two. Really good and shocked to see the poor reviews. I think they must be from their competitors LOL. Well done Tutor house and a massive well done to Fay who supported my son.

Incompetent tutors

The actual lessons don't reflect the trial sessions - which undermines the whole point of trials. The tutor got all the questions wrong and came to the conclusion that the textbook is wrong (it wasn't though!, I checked it with my teacher and she got it identical to the textbook). Moreover, he used an online math help website (we ourselves could do that then), tried to skip questions, saying they're complicated and long. When we reported to the management asking for a refund, they asked us for proof and I sent them the recording, however, the tutor house team refused and said that "you're paying for the tutors time." What does that mean? If the tutor comes and sits idle, do we have to pay for that? The team was not helpful, they had the worst attitude. However, when we asked to talk to the tutor about this, the tutor "was busy" apparently. After long altercations, reluctantly, they refunded the money and they sent an email condescendingly, saying that "they aren't going to be rich with the 40 pounds"- yes, we are well aware, you're refunding the money because your inadequate tutor. This was the worst experience. I absolutely do not recommend tutor house. They just care about money not the quality - they have incompetent tutors.

Supportive team

The Tutour house team were immensely helpful in aiding me with my UCAS application process and preparing me to sit my A-levels. The administrative staff were swift in their communication and eager to help. The tutors I was partnered with were incredibly flexible and great tutors.

A bad start with a dead-end

I am an extremely experienced and well qualified teacher of English. I tried to join this company yesterday but couldn't get very far. Neither of the company's phonelines were answered and the message I left was not returned ... until this morning, when I was busy, and repeatedly called, which was a nuisance.
I called the company back this afternoon. The line crackled badly and nobody spoke although there was a lot of background noise.
I cannot delete my basic sign-up account since there is no option to do so, the help pages are pretty useless, and all-in-all this does not seem like a very professional or well-run organisation.
