As someone who builds and teaches online courses, I’ve tried several LMS plugins over the years — some of them were good in theory but complicated in real classroom use.

Tutor LMS Pro stood out for one simple reason: it gets the job done without unnecessary complexity.

The structure of courses, lessons, quizzes, and assignments feels natural for both instructors and students. It’s flexible enough for advanced users, yet simple enough for quick setup.

Support has also been responsive when needed, which is important for educators who rely on stable tools in their programs.

It’s not perfect like any software, but so far it’s been the most balanced and reliable LMS solution I’ve worked with on WordPress.

As an instructor, I even recommend it to my students inside my training programs whenever they start building their own platforms.

The certificates are not displayed properly on IOS devices, they show misaligned text. I tried contacting support but they didn’t help at all and even stopped responding. Although many users are facing this issue it’s not addressed by their developers. Not recommended since their support doesn’t care.

Tutorlms is one of the best easy to use plugins for Wordpress online courses. I tried the paid version but unfortunately couldn’t justify the investment just yet to stakeholders, but received a full refund within the 30 days with no questions asked. Highly recommend, once the company grows it is definitely something I’ll reconsider.

I've been developing WordPress websites for years, and I initially chose TutorLMS thinking it would be a solid solution for online courses. At first glance, it seems like a promising plugin — polished interface, nice marketing, and a decent feature list. But once you actually start using it seriously, the cracks begin to show.

For the price they're charging, you expect something far more robust and refined. Unfortunately, TutorLMS falls short in multiple areas.

The support is one of the most frustrating aspects. Despite being a paying user with so-called "priority support", the first layer of assistance you get is an AI chatbot — and frankly, it's one of the worst I've ever encountered. It routinely invents answers that are completely unrelated to how the plugin actually works. Once you're finally passed on to a human agent, things don't improve much: the support agents tend to be dismissive and rarely offer real solutions.

They advertise Elementor integration, but it's extremely limited. You can build a basic course archive page, and that’s pretty much it. Worse, some of TutorLMS’s own templates and pages actively break Elementor features, such as Off-Canvas menus — which makes integrating the LMS into a custom-designed site unnecessarily difficult.

Some of the core features are poorly implemented, particularly subscriptions. Their built-in solution makes little practical sense and ends up requiring custom development just to get basic functionality working.

After a full year of using TutorLMS, I can confidently say that if it were entirely up to me, I would migrate to a completely different platform. Unfortunately, such decisions often involve other stakeholders, and changing course midstream isn’t always feasible.

This is not a plugin I can recommend. Unless your needs are extremely basic and you're comfortable writing custom code to fill in the gaps, you’ll likely run into frustrating limitations. In my experience, TutorLMS overpromises and underdelivers — and at this price point, that’s simply not acceptable.
