I did not hire them but now I never will

I did not hire them, but had to deal with the women in the truck who was parked in front of my garage door.
It is an apartment building marked with no parking zones and one way drive.
This truck was parked in the wrong direction and in a no parking zone. After asking them to move their truck an argument broke out. Instead of moving the vehicle it became clear to us she was not happy. Actually it was stated they only had one or two more items. I had a scheduled appointment and had to leave I had no time to wait for their one or two more items.
The attitude was disgusting from those one man and a women.
I would never recommend them or hire them.
Move the truck when you are in the wrong, do not argue with a possible future client when you are in a senior apartment building.

GHOSTED after many attempts to contact about damages

I moved in December of 2025 and STILL have not had resolution on damages that occurred during my move. They didn't "pad and wrap" almost anything I was assured they would, it was terrifying to watch them unload my possessions out of a giant box they just stuffed everything into. And now they continually ignore so many attempts to contact them and get my floor fixed and reimbursed for things they broke. Its like objectively absurd how many times they have dropped the ball. Moving is expensive no matter who you hire so look elsewhere, i regret hiring this company so badly.

Horrible experience

Imagine hiring a company to move your aging mother on December 13th from her home. A home that all of her memories, treasures and pictures reside in, establishing a life well lived. Imagine this company delivering the items to her new home. A time in her life with so much change, after losing her husband of almost 50 years. The 3 men who moved her items, scratched several pieces of furniture, left her mirror swinging on her dresser and not attached with all the parts, broke her microwave and damaged the sliding glass door to her entry way. How did they break the door you ask? They rolled a heavy piece of furniture on a hand truck over it and cracked the frame. The movers took picture and told us the company would be in touch. In touch they were not. I had to reach out to the company. They had a handy man (not a company) come out to assess the damages. The handy man said he could fix the furniture and wanted to put epoxy on the door! Epoxy we asked?! We don't want a temporary fix to a permanent problem. It's a main point of exit/entry! We did not ask for this to happen. We did however accept his offer to fix the furniture. The furniture of which he just came back to get last week. Jonathan did not get back in touch with him until 2/13. Two months later! I contacted Jonathan Taylor at the Rolling Rd location in Baltimore, MD when the contractor came out. I explained the situation and told him while we were waiting for someone to respond to us about the damages, we had Lowes come out to give us a price for a new door. He agreed & stated that he would take care of it & asked me to send over the contract. He took Stephen's name from Lowes and was in contact with him several times. He was going to pay by credit card, then wanted to pay by check. He had me enter into the contract with Lowes and we were all set. Well, until the next day. He called me in the morning and stated that because the door was just over $3,000 he couldn't pay for it out of his location, he would have to submit a claim with Gallagher Basset. Myself, assuming he would advise them of the contract and we would receiving the check from them was ok for the moment. Then, Gallagher Bassett called. Candida the claim adj. took my information and said she would contact Jonathan. It took her several times and even had to reach out to her supervisor to get in touch with him. When she finally did, he told her his guy can fix it. So the adjuster emailed me to let me know what he stated. I am STILL waiting to hear back from her again because I told her JONATHAN had me enter into a contract and they don't just go away. He set me in this position and I trusted him. What about the contract with Lowes? I have heard nothing from either the ins. company or TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. I have a contract with Lowes who have already been out to measure the door after we signed- thanks to JONATHAN! I asked for the GM or the owner's contact info and nobody will give it to me. So please anyone who is interested in hiring Two Men and a Truck from 2709 Rolling Road ste 122 Baltimore, MD 21244, please don't. Jonathan doesn't care how he left your furniture or your house. He only cares about getting paid immediately. My elderly mother even gave the 3 men a nice tip for their work. We get everyone makes mistakes. But to not fix them and put your customers in a financial position and then leave them hanging? This is our experience and we will be sharing with everyone we know. Too bad, Two Men and a Truck, I had so much faith in you to handle my Mom's end of life move with compassion and professionalism. "Treat everyone like your Grandma" is your motto. I think this location forgot this or they hate their Grandma which is even worse.

Final invoice 33% higher than quote

Final invoice 33% higher than quote, with no delays or changes to the job. And gave the highest initial quote but promised it was thorough. Damaged furniture, broken glasses (no attention paid to the FRAGILE notes on boxes), reported damages with no response. Asked for a tip and for it to be in cash. Asked for beers when finished the job. Unprofessional.

Go with Another Company

After doing a virtual walk thru of everything I wanted to move, the sales rep gave me an estimated weight and a price of $5500 for the move and $1500-2000 to pack up my house. Told me if you want to save money pack as much of it as you can and we’ll pack what’s left. We packed up 90% of the house.
There packers came to my house weeks later to finish and was there for 1.5 hours and charged me $850.00.
After the move the price was $800 more than what was quoted to me because they said we were 3000# over the estimated weight price. I can see being off by 1000# but 3000#?
When I contacted the “franchise manager” Chris of the Garner, NC office, he told me he would look into it. Waiting for his reply verbally never came. A week later I received an email from him basically saying “ tough shit” and he charged my credit card. The balance of the move with the additional $800.
What better way to get your business. They give you the cheapest quote and charge you a deposit then after the move is done they tell you your weight is more than they said it was. That goes for the packing portion also. If they would have packed my entire 2300 sq ft house how do they come up with $1500-2000 quote? It would have taken them at least 4 more hours to pack the whole house and would have been much more than quoted.
These guys under quote there prices to get your business. When they do the job the price is considerably higher. Go with someone else.
What is the purpose of a virtual walk thru when it means nothing to the final bill? I knew it was an estimated weight but being off 3000# is unacceptable.

I just had the best experience moving…

I just had the best experience moving than I've ever had in 65 years! Christian and Baily were so incredibly fast and kind. They saved me so much money by having everything moved from my second story apt to my storage unit withing and hour and a half! No complaints out of their mouths like I've experienced with other companies. These two gentlemen are the best thing thats happened to me in months. Thank you so much for relieving a very stressful situation for me. When I move back they are my first call! Absolutely the best!!!!

I received a check for $200 for damaged or missing items. my move in total was $7000. I got tired of the back and forth with them. it was exhausting. the last email from them on Nov 20, 2025, the operations manager stated the alleged items.i replied there was nothing alleged about my items being damaged or missing. he stated my representative signed off on the move. my representative in question was my adult son who had the code, keys, and locks to the storage facility. he watched as all four casters of my hutch were broken off between the truck and the storage unit. he watched as my Stiffel lamp was broken. he was talking to me on the phone during the move. I could not be there as I had to stay in Fort Lauderdale because my closing there was delayed. I did not want him getting in any dispute with workers so I told him to document and take pictures which he did. .I am not computer literate so he did a spread sheet for me of all the missing and damaged items.the company received the pictures and spreadsheet.they asked for receipts. I never said my items were new but they had value to me. the company kept mentioning weight on how they base compensation. it took two men to turn the hutch over and to replace new casters,

I would not recommend Two Men and a Truck. While the movers themselves were courteous and worked diligently, several members of the crew were vaping throughout the move, which was unprofessional. The greater concern, however, was with the office staff. The representatives who handled my booking were persuasive during the initial call, but once the arrangements were confirmed, the details and instructions changed without clear communication. The coordination from the office was poor and made the moving process far more stressful than necessary. Given this experience, I would not choose to use their services again.

If I could give a negative (-50)…

If I could give a negative (-50) review, I would. Their moving crew even tore a screen door off its frame. Dumped cat litter down the drain. Didn’t wrap expensive mirrors or nice furniture, as promised, and broke and tore up numerous items. Even chunks of wood taken out of expensive furniture. On top of that, I have missing jewelry. Then the crews office boss has the nerve to scream at me over the phone, literally yelling and not even allowing me to speak. I wasn’t going to listen to his verbal abuse and hung up. All of this on top of head of the 3 man moving crew approaching me and asking me to let them move me with a U-Haul because the company was going to charge me way too much to move me. One of them even telling me the company would bill me up to 22,000. That the company would add more cost onto their original quote and I would be stuck with paying it. On top of all of this, one of the moving crew must have been high on something and threatened to not deliver my furniture until I paid his ransom of 700.00. That’s when we had no option but to call the police. It was a total nightmare dealing with this company. Save yourself the headaches. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

Do not trust them with your belongings

TERRIBLE! They didn't show up on the moving day we had established, so I had to switch to the next day. Then it took 3 men almost 9 hours to complete my move. I paid almost $2000 back in July only to then find my new couch, loveseat, bureau (ripped the legs right off), and coffee table damaged - damages are covered per the contract or so it says. I call and speak to a Manager who apologizes and tells me that they are under new management and that he is waiting on his "vendor" to respond to him and that he will "call me tomorrow". Last time he said that was OCTOBER 9th and I had to call him today OCTOBER 27th. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR BELONGINGS THAT YOU WORKED HARD FOR!!!

I hired Two Men and a Truck

I hired Two Men and a Truck – Northwest Arkansas (Bentonville) for what should have been a straightforward one-day move. Before booking, I asked if it could be done in one day and provided photos of all boxed items before paying. I was told it had to be scheduled as a two-day move due to “DOT and labor law restrictions.”

Relying on that explanation, my family paid for hotel rooms, overnight pet care, and an overnight fee, all of which proved unnecessary. The move itself took about nine total hours (1.5 to load, 3 to drive, 1.5 to unload, 3 to return)—well within federal DOT’s 14-hour on-duty and 11-hour driving limits, meaning there was no legal reason to require two days.

Because the company insisted on starting Sunday, I was also charged a $300 “Sunday move” fee that would not have applied if the job had been done Monday in one day. Management later confirmed this was company policy, not a DOT rule.

After the move, I contacted the office by email to request clarification. Over the next week, I received inconsistent, incomplete, and changing explanations.
• Zach, the representative, stated he was in business school and gave contradictory answers. When I pressed for clarity, he threatened to issue a higher invoice total even though I had already paid in full.
• Jared, the general manager, made only a minimal effort to help and provided vague responses that never addressed the core issue.

In total, I paid around $700 more than necessary due to how the job was scheduled and handled. The movers themselves were punctual, efficient, and careful, but management’s handling of the situation was misleading and unprofessional.

Customers deserve clear, honest communication and transparency—not misleading legal claims, hidden fees, or threats after payment. I hope this encourages stronger oversight and accountability at this location.

Damaged items, claim ignored

I hired the Charlotte Two Men & an Truck for my move to Port Orange, Florida. I had to secure a storage unit on the delivery side as I would not be going to Florida till a later date. Due to the way my things were placed (more like crammed) into the storage unit, several pieces of furniture were damaged. My mother was present during the unloading process and let me know she didn't think off of my things would fit into the unit, so I leased a smaller 2nd unit in case. I had told the crew that the 2nd unit was available if my things would be too tight in the original unit. They didn't use the 2nd unit, but crammed all of my things into the one storage unit, thus causing damage for several of my furniture pieces. This was discovered when the local Port Orange Two Men crew started removing the items. They pointed out each damage issue prior to removing the pieces from the unit, and took photos of each damaged piece. After delivery, I immediately reached out to the Charlotte Two Men and let them know damages had occurred and would be submitting a claim, which I did a few days later. I received an email from their claims department asking if my damaged items had been packed in the boxes by the Two Men Crew or myself. I noted that all of the damages were to furniture items, and not pack in boxes. I sent more photos. I also reached out to the manager of the Port Orange location to ask if he could be of assistance on my behalf. He was kind enough to call the claims contact to discuss my situation and claim. He was told that my claim would not be processed as 'my items were moved around in the storage unit after the Charlotte team completed and left'. This was certainly not the case, as I would not have been able to move anything if I had wanted because everything was jammed in the unit so tightly from floor to ceiling. Again I sent supporting photos and a final request for my claim to be processed, I included the manager of the Charlotte location on this final email. I have had no response. In addition to the damaged furniture (several pieces belonged to my Grandmother), the hardware was thrown into an orange juice bottle (not washed out) and when found, the hardware was corroded due to the orange juice at the bottom of the bottle. Also, I am missing quite a bit of hardware, so will have to purchase hardware before I can re-assemble those items. I generally only leave positive reviews, however in this case I needed to state my disappointment and frustration. If you are considering the Charlotte Two Men company for your long distance move, you may want to re-consider. My things were NOT handled with care or respect. The management and claims team has brushed aside my legitimate claim and have ignored my last emails.

This company ruined a brand new $600…

This company ruined a brand new $600 mission chair. The wood on the the arm was gouged as the movers forced it through the door, not to mention the damage done to the wall.
They offered us $75 for the damage, which took from August 25th to September 20th to make this offer. I called them the Tuesday before and didn't get back until Saturday.
They were supposed to wrap the wood furniture, which they only wrapped 3 or 4 pieces. There was also a scratched entertainment center that was missing its shelves, which were returned a week later!
We told them to keep their $75, which was an insult.
I will never hire this company or recommend them.

Heart-breaking experience

We are still involved in a heart-breaking experience with Two Men. My mother's items were moved and put in storage with Two Men when we moved her to assisted living. My mom was very pleased with the service provided by Two Men. When she died, we moved her property to a far less expensive and secure storage facility. The Two Men facility in Peoria is a warehouse with everyone's things in it--items are just put in several different large stacks that are supposed to be separated by a chain link fence, though most are not. There are no labels or tags on anything in the warehouse that has the name or a barcode or anything to tell whose property is whose. And some items supposedly belonging to one pile are not necessarily in that pile--just next to it. Two Men moved our mother's things to the new storage space. No one in our family physically supervised the move, and this was not required by Two Men.
After our mother's memorial, we went through the storage facility. A lot of it were big items of furniture or books that we were planning to give away if no one in our family wanted them. But there were several items that were meant to be passed on to us--items that had been passed onto my mother from her mother and to her from our great-grandmothers and great-great grandmothers. Precious China that had been in our family for generations were missing, along with several other items. Items we planned to pass on to our own children someday.
When we called Two Men, we were originally told that none of my mothers items were at the facility and that they had all been moved and had we looked good enough through the new storage. We wanted to see the storage space anyway (we had specifically labeled these boxes with their contents and we did not use the Two Men moving boxes). When we were driving to the warehouse, Two Men called and said they had found several boxes that probably were ours. When we got there, there were 6 boxes pulled out for us to view. We were allowed to open and look through them. It was glassware, but it was not our mother's items. Again, these boxes were not labeled with anything to say whose they were. When we asked the worker, he said that he didn't know whose boxes they were, but was quick to add that nothing like this had ever happened before (which I find very hard to believe). I believe that if we had claimed these items as ours, this worker would have let us take them. When we left, we asked for the corporate number and were given the franchise owner, Kevin Christensen's, phone number.
Since that date, we have called and spoken with Mr. Christensen at which time he admitted that items in the warehouse were to have been labeled for identity. After we spoke on the phone with Mr. Christensen, we sent an email detailing the phone call, the situation, and our complaint. We requested a response. It has been near a month and we have received no response from Mr. Christensen or from any representative from Two Men. We have reached out to Mr. Christensen again requesting a response. And this is where we are. We hope that we do not have to seek legal advice to get a response and to get some sort of redress for Two Men's negligence.

Save your money. Choose elsewhere

We had a very unfortunate experience with Two Men and a Truck Arlington. Overall, customer service and solving the problems we incurred are the reasons I do not recommend them at all.
To start, when I called to get a quote I was asked to go room by room and list what items we had. So they knew up front. I was also informed they will take apart all beds and put them back together for us on this call. The day before the move, my husband moved the majority of boxes himself and hired TMAAT mainly for the heavy stuff because I just had a baby. I asked the men how long they thought this would take since we were estimated 10-11 hours on paper. They said this shouldn’t take any longer than 8-9 hours. As moving started, we were told they couldn’t touch my husbands bowflex (previously disclosed) unless the whole pulley system was taken off. Not an easy process. My husband and I decided to move it out the door ourselves. At this point I was only 6 weeks post a c section. My husband and I got it out of the door without removing any pulleys and asked if they could at least put it on their truck to take it to our new house. We were then told oh yeah I just didn’t think it would fit out of the door with the pulleys connected. I had previously purchased and was charged for mattress bags at booking. I went upstairs to find the men moving my expensive mattress with no bag on it. I told them I paid for mattress bags. They told me they weren’t informed of this and had to call their supervisor. I showed the receipt I had. They said someone from their office had to bring the bags to us. We waited at least an hour. You are charged hourly for this service and here they are ready to load up this mattress and now they can’t. They worked on a few other things but I know this stalled the move. When the guy showed up with the bags he had brought a queen bag for my king mattress so now he had to go back to their office and get the right size. Here we are waiting AGAIN. This took at least another hour. Next, we were told for liability reasons they can take apart the bunk beds and crib that we had (again previously disclosed) but they can’t put them back together. My toddler was the one still sleeping in the crib and if you aren’t the one taking something apart, it’s not going to be easy to just put together quickly yourself. The next issue: I informed the men that the refrigerator will not fit through the door with its doors on. They first tried to just remove the handles and open the doors but since the doors don’t open fully they proceeded to wedge and get the refrigerator stuck and had to go back and remove the doors as I told them. My husband called the supervisor to see if the man that took apart the crib could at least assist putting it back together. They agreed to this. At this point, the movers couldn’t find the bolts to the crib. They also remembered they had left the bolts to another bed at the old house. They lost something else I don’t remember what, but my husband had to drive to the old house himself multiple times for them. One man took forever trying to figure out how to put the refrigerator back together. The door handle is still loose and the front is all scratched up. They left trash at our house and even their own furniture pads were left behind. Walls were damaged. They said they shaved hours off the move to compensate us for the problems, but this time, in my opinion, was time we should never have been charged anyway. Time waiting on mattress bags (twice!), time looking for lost items, my husbands time and gas running between homes, time to put back together a refrigerator (a professional should not have taken that long)….. they never found the crib bolts. I eventually found them a few days later. We were not compensated or discounted for this HORRIBLE experience other than shaving a few hours off the time which was time we shouldn’t have been responsible for anyway. They ended up clocking it at 13 hours and charged us for 10.5. Interesting as they originally said easy move 8-9 hours. I was told to file a claim for everything else.

Damaged My Home and Belongings – No Accountability

I had a very disappointing experience with Two Men and a Truck. The movers damaged multiple pieces of furniture and also caused visible damage to my home during the move. To make matters worse, they left the job incomplete, and I had to hire additional help just to finish getting everything moved.

Despite providing documentation of the damages, the company has shown little accountability. They continue to demand payment for an incomplete and careless service, even before properly addressing the issues.

I expected more professionalism from a well-known moving company and would not recommend them based on this experience.

Two men and a truck picked up furniture…

I entrusted Two Men and a Truck with transporting a variety of furniture from my store to an auction house in Alexandria, VA, including a prized set of six antique Swedish Rococo chairs. Upon delivery, however, only five chairs arrived.

Despite video evidence from both our store and the auction house, Two Men and a Truck has refused to acknowledge responsibility for the missing chair—an omission that drastically reduces the set’s auction value. Even more disappointing, their office staff has been consistently rude and unhelpful in all our communications.

Bottom line: I would not recommend Two Men and a Truck if you value professionalism, customer service, or the safe, complete delivery of your belongings. Proceed with caution.
