Birds refuse to eat fat balls

Having fed my garden birds for more than 25 years I thought foolishly that all suet products were fairly equal. WRONG. Having last purchased suet balls and suet pellets from Vine House Farm but have also bought from other suppliers including Wilkinsons, bird food suppliers and even cheap ones before I started buying in bulk. I thought I'd take up the good offer from Twootz and bought 300 plain and insect fat balls.
They devoured the Vine House Farm products but they were quite expensive and have eaten all other fat/suet products wherever I've purchased from. The birds hardly touch them and have eaten about 6 since 26/09/20. Previously I was filling a container that could take 6 every 3-5 days.
At an offer price of £20.99 I have just wasted not only the money I paid but the product.
I have emailed the company twice, on 10/12/20 and 18/12/20 and received no acknowledgement let alone a reply.
I have sent a further email and informed them I would be giving feedback. As a matter of interest the feedback on their website is amazing!
Absolute sham, I would like to be able to have these so called fat balls analysed to see what they contain.
I thought I was saving myself some money but now I am going to have to buy some more from a more reputable company like Vine House Farm.
Shame on you for not only selling a product that the birds won't touch but also for your appalling customer service.
Never again.

The best suet pellets available by far.

The best suet pellets available by far.

Non existent customer service:
- Do not inform customers when items are not in stock (customer has to attempt to contact them (a similar experience to pulling teeth) days after despatch should have been made to enquire as to the process of their order)
- Do not answer telephone (they did do once, and told me that my items were not in stock!)
- Do not call back after being prompted to by a recorded message

This is nothing to do with Covid-19
This is how they operate (I've been buying their excellent suet pellets for over a year now, maybe two, so I definitely know how they operate).

They are not in any way bad people.
They are in no way scamming people.
To suggest so is ludicrous.

They merely seem to have in their employ people who have no comprehension of what competent customer service is.
They just don't seem to have grasped how important customers are to a thriving business.
They don't seem to understand how damaging their behaviour towards customers is.

How long before another company comes along selling the same quality things at the same price, but doesn't treat it's customers this way?
How many customers will they take away from Twootz?
How many customers do Twootz have to lose (a quick scan of the reviews posted here will clearly highlight the extent of the problem) before they realise and do something about their error.

Every time I order from Twootz (probably 25kg of suet pellets every two months or so), as a result of how they operate, I find myself searching the internet for alternatives.
This is what people do.
Twootz would be wise to realise this.

At the moment they have me over a barrel, as my pigeons turn their noses up at any other suet pellets, so for the moment I have to, and will keep using Twootz, but as soon as someone else stars selling suet of a similar quality, Twootz will have lost another regular returning paying customer.

Good value for the insects and mealworm…

Good value for the insects and mealworm suet pellets for the mix and match 12.5kg. My only complaint is the plastic bags containing these large amount of pellets are too thin and moreover they are filled but left opened and not tied up. The thin plastic bag risk splitting open under the weight when attemting to lift out of the parcel box. it also risk spilling out all over the place as the bag is not tied at the neck.
Please take note and take appropriate corrective measures

Very poor service

Very poor service, my last order placed paid for items chased late order never had any in stock failed to tell me. Tried them again in case my previous experience was just bad luck same again. Tried to email got message invalid email address. Tried phoning all you get is an 02 message answer service to leave a message. They have had my money no way to find out about what I have paid for. My advice steer clear.

Crumbly fatballs for birds

Ordered some fat balls, they took ages to arrive and when they eventually did so they were loosely packed in a cardboard box which meant that a large number had crumbled and of no use. Of the ones I did manage to salvage I could get more than 60 in a 50 fat ball container suggesting to me that they are smaller than the normal ones. I would suggest to anyone requiring fat balls in future to pop along to
Poundstretcher or Home Bargains where they are a lot cheaper and far better quality

Poor packaging

I have just recieved my order, the sunflower hearts were packed well in a functional plastic bag. But the suet pellets were in the the lightest poorest quality bag. I couldn't transfer to a more robust bag without the other bag splitting, causing the suet pellets to spill everywhere. A clear up job I could have done without.

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service - Their courier DPD spilt part of my order at their depot. I contacted Twootz, who replied, apologised and refund me within hours. Products are excellent quality, best value around, would highly recommend. Delivery used to be a bit sketchy when they used Yodel, but it's improved now.

Scammers

Took my money very quickly but still haven't received my order. Don't respond to emails, inactive on Twitter and they don't have a phone number you can ring either. it's obvious I've been scammed. Yet another company you can't trust.

Good quality items, appalling delivery dates!!!!!

I am impressed with the quality of the bird food, when we finally get it!!! Ignore the delivery date and just make one up!!! Delivery should be within a few days, a few weeks more like it!!!! Also when we order items, the money is taken and quite often the items are not in stock, why doesn't the site show they are not in stock?? One final thing, why isn't there a search icon for the site????

Last time I will be using them!

Have used them before without major issue. This time however the seed arrived (12.5kg) in a very thin single use plastic bag which was not capable of even being lifted to store properly without splitting. Awful and very wasteful. Contacted customer service who said the plastic bag was used for "environmental reasons". I cannot imagine what they are!!!!!

Will not be using again.

I always buy suet pellets from Twootz…

I always buy suet pellets from Twootz as its always good quality and the best price.
Delivery however is terrible. Says usually despatch in 1 - 2 days. This time was typical and was 8 days then delivered quite quickly so 10 days overall.
If you need bird food in a hurry this isn't the company to use.

It’s gone downhill ...

My first order arrived on time and was popular with the birds. However, my recent order has been a disaster. For a start, it didn’t arrive within the stated timescale. It’s difficult to speak to customer services and when I eventually did, they were polite but unhelpful. The birds don’t like the suet blocks I’d bought in bulk, though they had polished off the ones bought elsewhere so quickly that I could barely keep up with them. Worst of all the 12kg of peanuts was packed in the flimsiest of plastic bags that already had a hole in it, resulting in a very large spillage. I’m unimpressed and shan’t be ordering from this company again unless things improve.
