My breakdown claim is currently in progress and has now become completely stuck due to Protect Your Bubble’s outdated and inflexible process.

I insured a desktop PC purchased from Amazon expecting reasonable support if something went wrong. When I contacted them to make a claim, I clearly explained from the start that I am self-employed and work as a courier across the country. I don’t have a fixed workplace and I’m not at home during weekdays.

I asked for a very simple solution — a prepaid shipping label or the option to drop my device at a courier depot. This is a standard service in 2026 and would allow me to proceed with my claim without losing a full day of work and income.

I spoke with multiple advisors who were unhelpful. On the third call I asked for a manager and was told the situation would be escalated.

After quickly providing everything they requested, including proof of purchase and a photo of the serial number, I was informed that home collection is the only option and that I must be available during the week — despite repeatedly explaining that I can only be home on weekends.

Because of this, my claim cannot move forward at all.

Not everyone can sit at home from 8am to 5pm waiting for a courier. Blocking a claim over such a simple logistics issue is unreasonable and shows zero flexibility or understanding of working customers.

Customer service only follows rigid procedures instead of finding practical solutions.

Very disappointing experience so far. I would not recommend this company unless you are able to stay home during weekdays

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Protect Your Bubble.
I submitted my MacBook for repair after owning it for several years. Following the assessment, I was told it was unrepairable and offered a cash settlement that I find completely unacceptable.
What I find particularly unreasonable is the inconsistency in how this policy/ terms and conditions is applied. When taking out and maintaining the insurance, I was required to provide proof of purchase for a brand-new item. Yet when it came to settling the claim, the value was calculated based on a second-hand device rather than a like-for-like replacement. This is contradictory and unfair.
I provided the original purchase receipt and insured the item in good faith, expecting fair and transparent cover. I’ve been a long-standing customer for over 14 years and previously had a claim handled very differently, where a full reimbursement was provided for an unrepairable laptop. I don’t understand why the approach has changed.
Overall, this experience feels inconsistent and disappointing, especially for a loyal customer. I expected much better transparency and treatment, and this has seriously damaged my trust in Protect Your Bubble. I will be cancelling my policy and wil take this matter further to the Financial Ombudsman

Problem with making clam , blocking account and not being helpful at all.

Been trying for the past month to get my camera collected which was purchased through Amazon but I took the insurance out through Protect your bubble so had to go through them first. Phoned customer service gave all details required. They emailed twice asking for the same details. Got email saying it was being collected 25/01/2026 any time. Nothing. Yet another day wasted waiting for product to be collected. Would never recommended this company to anyone. We have now given up hope of it ever being collected and fixed. Waste of time energy and phone calls. Company does not care.

Update 06/02/26:
I have had communications from PYB and they have requested additional information, informed me they would contact Amazon to attain additional information regarding my claim and asked me to fill out a review of the underlying process. Alson informed me they would be reviewing all aspects of my claim.
Two days ago they informed me that upon review they have come to a decision in my favour and have overturned their initial rejection and accept my claim and sent me details to ship my Cloud drive too them for inspection which is great news and most appreciated. I have 10 days too do so. Credit given where Credit due...

Please be advised this company is a complete SCAM! Recently after purchasing numerous insurance policies from them over a 10 to 15 year period, I have never ever made a claimed. However recently I had a reason to claim for a Home Cloud Storage device which stopped granting me access to my media. Protect your bubble declined my claim stating they don't cover Software failures! A cloud storage device is nothing but software for storage of media there is nothing else that can fail only the software! Therefore they offer immediately via pop-up on your purchase and adding to Amazon cart their Breakdown Insurance in the knowledge they will Reject any claims due to software failure. To my way of thinking this is nothing but a complete scam. I just wanted to warn everyone on this trusted portal of this company. You have been Warned and Informed... Side Note, I just noticed below a review whom gave 1 star and stated and I quote: 'Rubbish and total liars'. I can totally understand their honest review of this company!
