Absolutely scammers. I called for braking a change of a motorbike lock where my key got broken inside. When they came they said. 80 for the call out and 200 for the braking. Once done he said 180 for the call. I said that he told me 80 before. And he went like: no no I said 180. In top of that he said. Plus taxes...so..for a 5 minutes job I paid 500 pounds... totally ridiculous. They should be ilegal. Never trust these guys

Scammers!!! To unlock a chain in a motorbike that took him 5 minutes to do or even less, charged us 530 pounds! What s total rip off. A total scam! They guy just said it's the taxes that hiked up the charge which is a total lie.

Do your research before even considering using this company. They trade under lots of different names. When you put in Google Search they come up first for local locksmith in your area. They over charge and take the liberty of doing it when you are most vulnerable and in panic mode because you need your door or window lock sorting asap. I was charged £218.00 for barrel lock which is £16.00 from Screwfix. The guy unscrewed the handles on the door and replaced it in approximately less time than it took to boil the kettle. The guy who came to me was of Romanian or Polish origin or similar. He was over 6ft and followed into my front room so I felt very on edge and intimated being alone. Turned up in a Honda civic car dressed in shorts with a sports jacket on. Was very stern and did not say very much. I tried contacting the company by email many times and they have not responded. I've been to trading standards also who are not very helpful in the slightest. In my email to Alexandru Alin Francuig who is the owner I quoted the consumer act 2015 fair pricing. I've written to him many times and I have had no reply back to date, and to be honest I don't think I will get a reply. Apparently a few years ago they were on watchdog for being a rip off company then. Somebody has quoted this on reddit reviews online.
It has taught me a big lesson never to rush into something like this. These people need to be stopped because there are many many many complaints on here stating very similar. I shall be going to the police and I shall do my utmost to make sure people are aware.

Total scam and rip off. Damaged the door, charged £170 for a lock, which was faulty, came to replace it. Took the lock with him and blocked my number.
Do not use these scammers.

I took my review down because I thought I had the wrong company, however more research and checking on my receipt has shown that this is the company that has really fleeced me.
I called out UK Local Locksmith to mend my front door handle. I was told the cost would be £48. He added a new spindle and fixed the existing door handle very badly, it is now at an angle.

I asked him to quote for my patio door which had a faulty locking mechanism. Instead of quoting he started to meddle with it, he was drilling and doing all sorts and has completely wrecked it the patio door which was really damaged, I could not open it once he had left.

I have tried to contact the company but seem only to get hold of the man who did the damage who is blocking me from talking to anyone in charge of the company. The company will not respond to phone calls, texts or emails.


I was charged £169 for this very poor work and as a woman alone I had to pay this as the man who did the work was verbally quite aggressive. I then had to call an emergency carpenter to get the door open which cost a significant amount of money.

Do not use this company, its website is misleading and the overcharging is horrendous and scandalous verging on fraud. They do not appear to be members of the MLA. I will be reporting them to Trading Standards and Action fraud.

Completely overcharged for the job. This is the first time me and my boyfriend ever locked ourselves out of the house. We were too scared to break any windows as we rented so we thought the best option was calling the locksmith.

The cheaper option would’ve been to break the window because unfortunately this company came up. We rang the company and a lady answered saying it’ll be £49. The locksmith didn’t show up for another hour. Unfortunately I had to return to work so he was left with my boyfriend.

I got a call from him later saying he was charged £317, he gave him a bunch of reasons saying that we needed new keys and he had to drill through the lock and replace.

We didn’t know any better so it was paid. PLEASE PLEASE, research more and stay away from this company.

49 callout charge and remainder was the price of the lock and fitting

The woman on the phone said it was going to cost me £49

The guy said no that's just a callout charge and it's expensive because it's a high security lock.. it was just a big standard yale lock

Got locked out, quote on the phone was 49, then the guy said he had to drill the lock and replace it, the lock alone was 145. The day after I went to a local shop asking how much he would have charged, he said 15 for the lock... huge scam.

We unfortunately found ourselves locked out of our home with a crying newborn baby and in freezing temperatures. Stupidly in our panic we called the first locksmith company that appeared on Google (even though they go by SEVERAL different names). The guy arrived (later refused to give his name) and continually added money on. Having had no experience in this, I had no idea how much this shouldve cost at the time. He drilled our lock, told us we needed basically everything new. He finally finished and “forgot” to add on labour. I challenged this but he was adamant and with as a 5 foot female with a newborn baby in my arms, I was not going to continually challenge a 6 foot polish bloke who spoke very good english but apparently could not speak any english when asking questions about the work etc. It was only after he left that I searched the company and saw all of the reviews. I felt so unsafe and called a new locksmith over the next morning right away. He said that this company had done such poor work that we would need to replace the door to get it perfect again. He then showed me the £9.15 door handle online that this company charged me £125 for! I recieved a quote from this new company and they would charge an absolute maximim of £330 IF everything did initially need replacing (we’ll never know now!). UK Local Locksmith charged me £690. I debated small claims court but I do not have the money to pay the upfront cost. This is how they get away with it. I tried calling so many times and despite them continually denying that they’d ever even did the job, they magically found the invoice. “Alan” the manager is rude, unprofessional and so unhelpful. I brought up the topic of the reviews and he said “well thats customers for you, they all just want some money back” RIGHTFULLY SO, YOU’RE SCAMMERS!
Shocking. I’ll put this down as a lesson learnt but PLEASE do not use this company. The 5 star reviews mustve either been done internally or from people who didnt care about the price or standard of work.

***07725 531730*** THE MAN WITH THIS NUMBER IS FAT SCUMBAG!!! Called them out two months ago, and they quoted a different amount on the phone to in person. £300 it cost us, only to have a total botched job done! These disgusting people were perverts and done the worse job ever in history, my sofa could’ve done a better job. Absolute scam artists who wasted our time and our money. The key got stuck in one of the doors, so I called the company back as they gave us a faulty key for both doors on the above number. Was told that he was on his way, tried calling back; all now no answer and going straight to voicemail. A complete bloody scam that has inconvenienced my family in the worse way possible. They’re lucky trust pilots rating starts at 1 star, because I’d give a bloody -100!!! ***STAY VERY CLEAR FROM THESE PEOPLE***

We called these people out on Christmas Eve as we had stupidly locked ourselves out of the house. The guy quoted £59 on the phone (not a call out charge) and said that they would be there in 15-30 minutes. The locksmith arrived over an hour later with several excuses used for his delay. After viewing the property the guy went to get his tools but before he started I asked him to confirm the cost of £59 to which he said no the cost will be £300, £59 is just the call out charge. At that point I told him he would be receiving no money from me and to get back in his car and leave. He did not get in his car but called someone and after a few minutes I told him again to go and his reply was that he would do the job for £59. I accepted only as it was around 8pm, cold and we had a 16 month old child with us. These people are far from trustworthy, call someone else !!

Stupid me didn't do research but cause I was locked out with my kids I needed something desperately to get in , the website said different charges, and when they got there they told me the price for call out I didn't think it would be more I said can't you tell me how much he said will tell you in the end 380pound later what all the money I had left , no money to feed my kids I am still crying now I just don't know what to do iam so angry with myself .just so expensive would of been easier to knock down my door .

This man just robbed my 78 year old Dad, called him out the lock was jammed he forced his way in and charged them £570, was there 30mins and didn’t even fix the lock, scum bag

There are two locksmiths with this very similar name UK Local Locksmiths Ltd and (the one I used). UK Local Locksmith.
My wife passed away 6th of December 2024, unable to go out until the 10th of December, unwittingly left the spare key on the inside of the door lock so I was unable to unlock the door from the outside. This trader was the first name on the list of names in the search results on the mobile phone.
I waited in the cold for one hour, (not twenty-five minutes as claimed on their website).
I was charged £507 for the lock to be drilled out. Research of locksmith trades near me all suggest prices between £75 and £100 and all said the lock did not need to be drilled out when the key was left
inside the door.
On Trustpilot they have a rating of one star, why do Trustpilot still allow them to remain on the listings? surely they should be stopped.

I phoned this company after my mum locked herself out last Tuesday afternoon.
The locksmith arrived around an hour later and took about half an hour to drill out the lock and replace it.
The charge for this work was £730.
She reluctantly paid on credit card.
I phoned the office to ask why the cost was so high and they tried to justify the charge.
We have since received a quote from a local locksmith for around £100.
We are reporting to Trading Standards.

Pity you don't have zero
I am main carer for my mum, aged 93 with dementia. While I was on holiday - her door jammed and she was very scared. My brother called out an emergency blacksmith. It was a Sunday and Late at night and we expect to pay a premium. The price quoted was £425. A local locksmith had quoted me £60.00 a year earlier. The locksmith then threatened to leave my mum's door open and unlocked unless my brother paid extra £100

Don't use. Dishonest company. They offer a low callout charge (£59) then sting you for the lock (£180) We got a lock worth about £4. It was wobbly and the door didn't shut tightly. 'Engineer' was quite bullying and we certainly felt rushed. No company details on invoice - but they do also operate as UK Local Today Ltd (MD Stefan Goia) That's where you pay your money. Avoid!

Absolute cheats. Charged me £250 for 15 minutes work. Do not use.
