Its a scam!! Exactly what everyone has written. Told me it would be £49 to open the lock. When he came, he aiad he cant open it will need to drill it. Replace the lock for £105 and £159 for labor of replacement. I told him i dont need it, he still drilled and aaked me £159. A total scam. No clarity given whatsoever! Its a fraud!

Avoid Scam: on the phone they insinuate that it’s going to be an easy and inexpensive , simple job. However, when the locksmith came, the charges for each tiny thing was astronomical and they don’t give you all the cost upfront, he did the first part which was £130 and then will add extras on for each subsequent part of the job by which time you are tied in because you can’t have an unlocked doors. It would be good to know how many job they have done for £39 as advertised on the web, as there call out fee is £49 on its own before any work is done. He charged me £380 to change a lock and was only there for 1 hour, I fell the locksmiths prey on older, females that are on their own, very dishonest company. I asked and emailed for an invoice for each individual part of the job and will waiting for the company to reply to my request, I will be reporting to trading standards.

Needed a simple replacement of an ERA nightlatch . I was told on the phone the cost of the lock would be about £40. When the 'technician' arrived he said that the cost of the lock was £250 - I had just checked on Amazon where it is priced as £48.50. I did not proceed.

Would like to give it a zero star, got told on phone the max it'll cost would be £40 but then It was £150 for breaking the lock , £69 for the new lock and to fit it, £49 service charge overall it cost £316 would of been cheaper smashing a window and replacing it. Can't fault the two lads that came out they were nice just horrific price

was charged £165.00 to open my door. was told on Phone £49.00. He was late and rude. Phoned the company and they were rude. I was told technician had tried to phone me and i didnt answer, this was a lie. He them called me a liar. Do not use this company . Rude and a down right rip off. two other locksmiths told me no way this should have been that price. Stay clear of them

Rude and unprofessional locksmith turned up over an hour later and tried to charge me double. Did the absolute minimum. Not a good company to do business with. AVOID!!!

I asked about call out charge and was told “we need to see the job first”. Then drilled out the lock causing damage to the handle and the door frame, then charged extra for a cylinder which does not fit and left the place in a mess! Terrible. Do not use. Was intimidated to pay despite the damages. Dreadful

Anyone else find the technicians inappropriate? I was a woman at home by myself needing a lock fixed on my bedroom window so I could feel safe and I’ve not felt safe since! Yes they rip you off and scam you out of money but that’s not even the worst part. the technician also hugged me - inappropriate and unwanted. I reported him and said I’d leave a bad review and then only a matter of days later a bad review from a name I’ve never worked with shows up on my company page. All other reviews good, this one didn’t make sense for the business I provide.

Whilst he was at my flat he starts looking for other issues and saying he can fix them and I should contact him directly and not go through the company because I’d save money on VAT. NOT SAFE!

Disgusting! Avoid at all costs they come out to my vulnerable mum who was locked out and was there no longer than 20 mins and charged her £614!! They had charged her over £300 for a £30 part disgusting that you can treat elderly people like this I’m calling trading standards

Do not use. Completely a scam operation. Not only did they vastly over price the work but they also charged me foe work they didn't do. Unfortuantly my wife had died the day before and we need the door fixed

DONT USE!

We were locked out with a four month old baby, nothing with us. The company told us half an hour, then 40 minutes later still no sign, then were told another 45 minutes, and then another half an hour and overall it took them over 2.5 hours. We were charged excessive for having to wait after constantly promised the locksmith would arrive shortly, and all they did was put a card in and add some oil to the lock. It was incredibly poor service. Would never ever recommend this service. They definitely need to seek customer service training. And it’s better to be honest with an ETA than lying. We had to find somewhere to take the baby while I waited outside for over way 2 hours.

My nana rang to fit a new lock in her UPVC double doors. He took the old lock out and said there was a bent screw in there which is why it was faulty. He then went to his van and got a new lock out, to charge her £100 extra for this ‘lock’. The lock online is £10 so an absolute rip off. He would have just changed the screw and the lock would work fine but instead charged her for a new lock.
He took all the locking mechanisms out of the door on the other side, so the door that was working perfectly now cannot close, cannot lock and has dropped massively.
4 times I have rang to get him to come back with no luck, he sets a date and a time then doesn’t show.

Over the phone they said no call out and they would give me a quote that I could review before moving forward. When the price was £160 I declined but then they tried to hit me with a £90 cancellation fee. Fees really have to be specified upfront and I flatly refused to pay

Do not use! Do not do what we did and panic end up getting scammed! Guy came out opened the door decided he could fix it properly and install the lock until 2 days after and it would be an extra £200 along with the £250 we already paid. Left us with no secure back door and having to find someone competent to do it.

Do never use this company! Using this company '' Local Locksmith Services LTD" was the worst experience ever! I called 01183240490 requesting locksmith to open my entry door. Was told door opening costs £49.00. In one hour two men ( man with drill and his student/assistant) turned in driving Enterprise rental van . Was told that my both locks cannot be opened and they must be drilled and replaced. I requested from them to use locksmith tools for opening the locks but was told it is impossible. The guys didn't let me know how much will cost me and wasn't any price list. After the bit longer than an hour drilling and hummer job the locks were fitted I was told my bill is £682.00.
After three days I requested invoice and couldn't believe. I was charged £358.00 (2×£179.00) for gaining entry, one sashlock× £137.00, one deadlock × £137.00, 2×£25.00 cover plates. Total-£682.00. I called the company and complained from the higher price for the service and lock's prices as they can be bought from toolstation for only £25-£30.00. That is unbelievable product that costs £25.00 I was sold for £137.00. I told the person who answers the phone that I would like to return two brand new lock ERA make the same as the looks were fitted on my door and asked for the refund of 2×£137.00 =£274.00 and I want to talk to the business owner. Was told that the locksmith did the job. As a customer that received bad service or not happy from the product it is my right to return the product and discuss the job's price, not with this company. For this company what is matter is only quite money and big profit. I am planning to report this company to trading standards so this company will no longer take advantage and trick customers.

Don’t not use these scammers. Quoted me £50 , intimated my female tenant at 11pm if she didn’t pay £229.

Avoid This Firm
I called out this firm on 5th August 2024 having received a quotation of £49.00. The bill presented was over £200. When I queried the charge for labour I was told that the job was more difficult even thought they only changed the lock. Be careful - the quotes given are fiction.

Told £49 then chap turns up drill simple take lock out and bill came to 154.00 absolute rip off merchants .
