Unpakt is a long-overdue layer of protection against unscrupulous movers. i chose a moving service from the Unpakt website called Acclaimed Movers. they moved me out okay, although they missed their delivery window which they had posted on unpakt to be between 5 to 7 business days and later denied any knowledge of that claim. they then transferred my stuff to a second interstate moving company whose owner with a thick israeli accent threatened to place my belongings in storage unless i cough up an extra $75 for an elevator fee, another $75 for being more than 72 feet away from the curb and this atop another $340 which they had already added randomly to my bill, a bill which I had already pre-paid on unpakt. it all totaled to an extra $490 payable in money order or cashiers check only please. i had heard the same blackmail story from a family member who relented to pay an extra $1000 dollars before their movers would finally unload their stuff from the truck. but they didn't have unpakt supporting them like i did. Matt Burns, the awesome rep. at unpakt fought off the barbarians at the gate with a professional confidence that broke a 45-minute stand off in the parking lot of my new apartment building. in the end, i tipped the movers $60 and they acted entirely unimpressed. they left in almost a bewildered state as if me getting away with paying them only a $60 tip was an unconscionable shift in their world order. Well that is exactly what unpakt is. a paradigm shift in the world of movers and it couldn't have come soon enough. i will never again move outside the protective umbrella of unpakt.

I will say that everything was moved as warranted. However, the quote that I was promised versus what I was actually charged was different. On top of that, the movers, once at my new place charged me an additional fee and expected me to pay on the spot. Overall I'm satisfied my stuff was moved (pretty low bar) but am very disappointed in the vagueness of pricing and added fees charged to me by the movers. I would not recommend this service because of these issues.

Unpakt made it all so simple, I was scared to hire movers after reading about all the scams in the moving industry but their guaranteed price comparison system made choosing movers so simple.

From all the companies listed I chose Movers On Duty to move my belongings from DC to NY and everything went great!

Unpakt was tremendously helpful in helping to schedule a move with less than one week's notice. I was paired with a phenomenal moving company (S&D Moving) that was tremendously professional, easy to work with, affordable, and convenient. Fantastic service all around.

Unpakt really did make it so easy for me to itemize my inventory, select a moving date, and read reviews. Really appreciate the thoughtfulness of the service and how easy it made my move. Will definitely use Unpakt the next time around!

We used unpakt for our move from Chicago to San Francisco. The movers came on time and honored the quote provided through the unpakt dashboard. The problems began after the movers packed up our furniture. We still haven't heard from the movers on when our furniture will be delivered. They outsourced the pickup to another 3rd party vendor who doesn't answer their phone. It's been 4 weeks now and I still cannot get a STATUS update. Unpakt customer service tells me to contact the movers. The movers tell me to contact the delivery truck. The delivery truck company doesn't answer their phone. And these guys had the HIGHEST rated reviews through unpakt. I would not recommended unpakt for anyone, just go with yelp reviews, its the same service with a higher volume of reviews off yelp.

I'd never used Unpakt, or any professional moving service for that matter, for a move prior to this one. The website was mostly good (could use better synonym detection for items), the movers arrived on-time, worked hard, and so far we've only found one broken item (the glass front to a cheap picture, so not a big deal). I'd use Unpakt for a future move.

The movers came right on time and were very efficient and quick. They packed everything up perfectly and when they got to my new apartment, everything was placed where I wanted it and everything was reassembled just as they were.

I really liked there service. It was convenient and very reasonable and best part was I know exactly how much of have to pay. Moving truck guys were so professional and they packed all boxes and furniture with shrink wrap before I moved it in storage. Overall I was very happy with the service. .

I've used Unpakt twice for two moves in New York City, and it was so convenient to get different quotes based on my move date, number of items, etc. The site is very user friendly and I felt assured I was getting the best deal for my moves. I highly recommend to anybody who needs to move in NYC, as it makes the whole process much less painful!

We were really happy with the thoroughness of this resource, however, it was a little confusing figuring out how to enter assembly/disassembly and other choices in that category. We didn't end up using this resource because it still ended up being out of our price range, but it was a great website that was very helpful in getting us going!

Unpakt has transformed the stress-inducing experience of taking care of all your belongings during a move into a relatively stress-free experience. It helps you create a list of what you own, gives you appropriate options for extra care (like assembly/disassembly), then gives you a list of rated movers with prices that you can then trust.

It *almost* makes moving pleasant. You know... Almost.

Was very easy to work with when I need a mover. The customer service was quick, and helpful. They provided good options for movers. Would highly recommend.

Because you are being charged for the stuff they have to move, your ability to estimate how much stuff you have is key to their ability to estimate how much the move will cost. Get packing early so you know how many boxes there will be, and understand that fewer, bigger boxes will be cheaper than many small boxes. And get to an ATM so you have cash to tip the movers. For these reasons (tips, extra boxes) our move ended up costing more than we expected, but that was not the fault of unpakt. We also noticed a different level of professionalism on both ends of the move (the loaders vs. the unloaders), so also be aware that these reviews will reflect the service of the individual companies and people involved. The unpakt service is a great idea with excellent employees and made the move easier than finding a long distance mover.

Could not have been more pleased. Found an excellent mover and was kept up to date on all details.

Site was easy to use, comparing vendors across sites revealed inconsistent pricing. Unpackt should work to keep that the same or be the best deal!

The guys with Unpakt were so nice and efficient with organizing my move. (Even with my multiple cancellations!) Great app, great customer service. Would definitely use again.

Unpakt is such an easy way to plan your move. Not only do you get quotes from all different moving companies at once, putting you in control, but you can also update your packing list just a few days out from your move, all online. You can also pay with a credit card which is awesome, and makes moving hassle free. After reading customer reviews I picked the best moving company for me, and they were awesome! A few last minute changes to my packing list was no problem, and overall I was really satisfied with Unpakt. I now recommend it to all of my friends and family who are moving!
