I purchased two trips from Unsold.com…

I purchased two trips from Unsold.com The first one was to Cape Cod MA for this coming June and when I called the hotel I was told that my reservation had been canceled by Unsold.com That was 298.00 dollars and I don't know how to get my money back. I also paid for a 7 night trip to Orlando FL but I hadn't set dates for. That was also 298.00 dollars. So now were out almost 600.00 dollars. Does anyone have any advise for me ?

Unsold Shuts Down with No warning or contact

The unsold website said they were temporarily unavailable when I tried to reach them to cancel because the entire month was unavailable for my trip. I contacted my credit card company immediately and they provided me a full permanent credit for the amount I paid. I suggest anyone who has purchased from them do the same immediately!! I learned from reading here that they canceled reservations and now are saying they are out of business. I never received any notification from Unsold!

I also am a victim of Unsold

I also am a victim of Unsold. I had purchased vouchers to Santorini, Athens, Rome and San Francisco. I was able to collect on San Francisco and the hotel was not bad. I was also hoping to use the other three vouchers (About $880 in purchases) in the next 14-15 months. Ugh.

I did read a useful article about four steps people can possibly take that are owed money to possibly get a refund. I can’t post the link here unfortunately it looks like, but it was posted on August 9th, and it addresses that Unsold ceases trading.

I am going to start with calling my credit card company to see if a dispute this long after making the purchase would even be an option. I don’t feel convinced that they are going to add a refund form on the site like they say they would.

I suppose if it’s too good to be true. Expensive lesson and very upsetting. Wishing everyone that has become a victim of this the very best.

Just discovered that company is out of business. I'd like to know if anyone is aware of refund/claim procedure or if the gov't has any law enforcement action for fraud. Also if anyone knows of class action litigation against Unsold or other corporations that have benefited from Unsold's misconduct by substantiating its legitimacy & collaborating in perpetrating a fraud upon the public. Thanks!

Unsold.com is a scam

I booked 2 holidays on the Gold Coast Australia. I wanted to know if I could change the booking details due to Covid restrictions. Phoned the hotel in question who advised me my booking had been cancelled. Unsold.com did not even notify me. I only found out when I went to their web page. Don’t like my chances of ever seeing my money 😡

I just discovered that Unsold.com went…

I just discovered that Unsold.com went out of business and am quite angry. After seeing their ads, I decided to give them a try on a 3 night trip to NYC in June of this year. I was pleasantly surprised that everything went smoothly. We had a nice hotel in a great location and everything went off without a hitch. Because of this experience, I was under the impression that they were legit. Soooo, I ended up purchasing 3 vouchers to Athens, Santorini and Paris. I was planning to use them over the next year or so. I just happened to go to the website to forward to a friend as I referred her to them earlier today! I was horrified to see the site had a message stating they are no longer in business due to “Covid”. What on earth! I feel like such a moron now! Has anyone had any luck contacting them regarding a refund? I’m going to call my credit card company tomorrow and really hope they can do something about the charges. This is just unbelievable.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam! I purchased a vacation package just 3 weeks ago and they happily took my down payment. I went to check on the website today to secure a destination and it states that they have "ceased operations due to COVID." I was appalled to read further that they are "striving to refund all customers that we can over time." Are you kidding me?? You will TRY?! Unbelievable. This company was around for years and had decent reviews too. Never know who you can trust anymore

They have totally scammed us out of money & Expedia is all part of it. Our hotel booking was made before them going under & it was prepaid by Expedia even though booked through unsold. Another company Restel Travel is involved. I spoke with Expedia & they assured me reservation was non refundable & could not be cancelled & then the next day they cancelled it with excuse covid restrictions. Very little help through expedia. They are culpable as well.

complete scam

We booked (purchased) our trip more than a year ago from unsold.com thanks to a pop-up ad from an app, then started confirming our vacation hotel booking in Banff and was notified by unsold that the hotel was booked, then we found their website "under maintenance" for more than 3 days, which is quite abnormal. This eventually sound the alarm and I phoned the hotel we booked only to find out the unsold cancelled the booking just a few days ago, without contacting us at all. This is high street robbery and does anybody know how to get hold of these bustards?

Too good to be true

Like many others, I was fleeced. No communication at all. Only on visiting their website did I realise that they've gone bust and that I won't be going to Bali after all. It did seem like an unsustainable business model, and it remains to be seen whether I'll get my money back.

Cancelled booking by unsold.com

We purchased our voucher and booked our hotel on the Goldcoast 1 month before our anniversary holiday. I confirmed with the hotel our reservation wash valid the day before arrival. On the day of arrival, after driving 3 hrs to our hotel we were informed that unsold.com had cancelled our reservation and the hotel had refunded unsold .com. We have to pay again or our accomodation, as we had an early morning departure for a hot air balloon ride in the area the next morning. We have not recieved a refund from unsold.com. They had ensured the hotel we would be refunded.

I got ripped off too

I got ripped off too. Bought a 7-night stay in NYC. Made the reservation in June starting on August 31. Got an email today that they were no longer doing busy. Called the hotel and was told that Unsold had canceled my reservation. And yet I saw them advertising on Facebook about two weeks ago. I am filing a complaint with the Florida Attorney General.
