How Upward Discriminates.

I joined Upward because after 10 years of being single and focusing on raising my child, I wanted to find a practicing Christian man and was hesitant to start dating again. This was the first site I chose. I signed up and met some very nice men and shared kind and fun conversations with a few of them. Suddenly I couldn’t get back on the site. I tried for a few days, then had to search online for their customers service, as their site doesn’t give directions on how to use it. They brilliantly told me to get into my profile and fill out a form…and I had to explain the problem was I couldn’t log in. After I gave them enough information, I was finally sent a form that was to appeal a ban???? So I filled it out with absolutely no idea what I was appealing. I made it clear I was unaware of anything that I had done wrong. They still wouldn’t tell me what the issue was. I then received a response saying they reviewed my case and the ban remains. I responded twice asking if they could please tell me what I did wrong so I could learn from it 🤷🏼‍♀️. I read over all the terms, conditions, and guidelines twice, and still have no idea what it was. If you know me, you would be laughing your rear end off because I am the most reserved Christ-loving person you would know. It was a “You know what you did” kind of scenario, only I have no idea what I did. I was polite, kind, responsive to everyone I interacted with. I can only guess they are discriminating against me for some reason. If you are looking for an ethical company that is transparent, this is not the one. If you wanted to, try them out for free, but I would suggest not investing in them as they treated me unethically, discriminatorily, and disrespectfully. And if I could give them a zero, I would as well. Following Christ means having grace. And there was no grace shown to me by the people of this site, who claim to be Christians…the Bible tells us to beware of those who claim to follow Christ, yet walk a different path. You will know them by there fruit. This fruit is no good.

If I could give it a 0 I would

If I could give it a 0 I would! Terrible website, corrupt and terrible. Of all dating websites/apps I have experienced this is by FAR the absolute worst! They come masquerading as “Christian” but it is overrun by scam artists and catfishers! I spent $35 of hard earned money in hopes that there were decent Christian people out there to dare, but it turns out the world and these dating sites are corrupt. I was on there 1 day and had to report two accounts for catfishing! One wanted to talk on WhatsApp the other was talking on a line that is a Boston number but searched the number and it was reported as a “scam” phone number associated with scams! A disgrace truly!

I just purchased a three month…

I just purchased a three month subscription. After a week, I’ve gotten no hits or matches, not even a like. I feel that Upward is a scam, and would like to be refunded. We as Americans, are constantly getting scammed and nothing is done about it.

Security violations…

This dating app tracks you better than the NSA. I travel quite a bit for work and received messages from women in every place I traveled. Deleted the app for security and immoral reasons.

Does not hold Christian values

I was super excited maybe I can meet people that is on the same level as me but I didn’t even make the profile. This is supposed to be a Christian dating app why is it asking what are you seeking? It should be man and woman not a woman seeking a woman or a man seeking a man. This is not a good app for Christians because it means you’re in agreements with what they’re saying it’s not of at all

Run, don't walk, away from these companies

I wish I could give this site 0 stars. I've been getting email from Upward.net, upward.careers and jobcase (which I never signed up for), each sending me opportunities I'm qualified for. I don't click on any links provided in the emails, I go directly to the company site, only to find that the jobs are not available any longer. I also receive emails from "Ella Dawson" regarding the same opportunities. I sent an email asking to be removed from their email list and almost immediately, I received two emails. One from them with the generic "we'll be in touch in 48 hours", which I don't care to speak with anyone about, and the second saying "Here is the second job match from *** company that matches your skills". Mind you, this is the same opportunity for a company in which the job is no longer available!!!!!! Stay as far away as possible from this company. It seems like all they're doing is trying to gather resumes for some odd reason. I'm so glad I never uploaded mine to these sites.

I can reinforce what others have…

I can reinforce what others have stated. Every job listing points to Jobhat.com with job listings unrelated to the posting or even field I'm applying. I'm going to probably add jobhat.com to this site as well, as they seem to be inter-related.

SPAM

I have experienced the exact same thing except they are operating under upward careers now too! Please file a complaint spamuce.gov! I just did but we need more people to do the same to get these people shut down! Unfortunately I was unable to enter the email address so put an “at” (@) sign between the m and the U for the complete email for the govt body who will get this resolved!
Thank you!!

HORRIBLE: Avoid at all costs

This is a spam trap. Not sure how they got my info but they inundate you with email and text notifications for jobs that aren't relevant (and likely fake) and then their Unsubscribe link is conveniently "broken" so you can't opt out. They try to make you create an account in order to opt out and unsubscribe which I refuse to do as I don't want such an unethical company having any more of my information.

Do not be fooled by this website

Do not be fooled by this website. They are phishing for your information. I clicked on a job link that was sent to me, and immediately it was flagged with a "Your connection is not private" message. This is a big red flag and should be heeded, as the site is not secure.

I also tried to unsubscribe from the "recruiter" emails from both Emily and Ella, and the unsubscribe button led to an "access denied" page.

Stay away and instead use well-known sites for job searching, such as Indeed. It's not worth the risk.

Ligit or not I would not support them

Ligit or not I would not support them. I got a pop-up as if it related to a job I was interested in from another site. I put in my email and name before I realized it was unrelated. Over the next few days I got job suggestions not even remotely related to me. Even when I went to their website to check them out I felt I was wasting my time. I won't spend any more time on this legitimate or not.

I suspect fraud..

People here acting like they work for the actual company that's mentioned in the job posting. They're collecting your personal data... for what reasons? Very misleading employment service. I suspect fraud.... definitely something unethical happening here.

COMPLETE AND TOTAL FRAUDS WHO TOUT "WORK FROM HOME JOBS." COMPANY IS CONNECTED TO CHINA AND THEY/IT INFLATES NUMBERS TO MAKE JOBS SEEM HIGHER PAYING THAN THEY REALLY ARE + PHISING SCHEME ON TOP OF IT ALL GIVEN THAT A LOT OF THE JOBS ADVERTISED SUCH AS THE "WORK FROM HOME JOBS" ARE NOT REAL AT ALL.
