Utility Aid assisted a charity with contract renewal

Utility Aid assisted a charity with evaluating its energy options and UA came up with a good range of choices quickly. Nathan Jones was incredible in the support for the actual switch in deals. Highly rated professionalism, they are not pushy like other brokers.

Don't bother using Utility Aid.

Pressure to sign up to contracts many months in advance. Contracts were then not renewed on time with the supplier plus haphazard invoicing. Had to phone the supplier directly many times to get answers that Utility Aid did not provide. Poor customer service feedback ie didn't answer questions, quoted 5 working days and still didn't reply. Wouldn't use them again.

Utilility Aid have failed my small charity

I trusted Utility Aid to negotiate a value-for-money contract and to manage the switch from our existing supplier to another. The supplier UA recommended seems incapable of producing accurate bills and UA seem powerless to exert any pressure on the supplier to sort things out. This has been the situation since February 2023.
Engaging with UA and their recommended supplier has been a dreadful experience for my small charity.

Good afternoon Phil,

I have spoken with my other colleagues who have been handling your case. I want to begin by expressing my sincere apologies for the stress you have experienced. We have been disappointed by the supplier's handling of your case, as well as the impact it has had on all our customers using their services. To provide some context, the supplier has encountered significant administration issues during a system transition, resulting in numerous errors. We have been working to assist them in resolving these issues, including supporting customers with Ombudsman complaints and building cases for compensation when the suppliers causes delays in their start dates.

While Utility Aid, acting as a third-party intermediary, facilitated your contract with the supplier, we want to emphasize that we had previously experienced over a decade of excellent service from the supplier and did not anticipate these problems. We were initially assured that these issues would be resolved by Christmas, but unfortunately, they persist. Our support teams spend hours on hold with the supplier as we strive to resolve these issues as swiftly as possible. Additionally, our Head of Procurement meets weekly with our Account Manager to address the issues in detail and request updates. However, the complexity of the issues means that there are no easy fixes. While the supplier is actively working to address these issues, the process has been incredibly frustrating for everyone involved.

Regarding Utility Aid's service and the time we have dedicated to your case, I was surprised to see that we received a 1-star review on Trustpilot, rather than the supplier. Upon reviewing the notes, I believe our team has been providing regular updates. Ultimately, the responsibility for solving these issues lies with the supplier, and we are doing everything within our power to assist in resolving the situation.

We will, of course, continue to furnish you with regular updates, and will continue doing everything we can to bring about as swift a resolution as possible. If you do have any suggestions as to what Utility Aid could have done differently to navigate through this situation, please do let us know, as providing world-class customer service is something we are passionate about and we are always keen to explore ways to improve. If your frustrations are as we suspect rooted in the supplier's service, I would kindly ask you to reconsider the 1-star review you have left Utility Aid, as we do not feel this is a true reflection of the time and effort Emily, Ruth and the team have dedicated to supporting you.

Utility Aid - an excellent energy broker

Used Utility Aid to assist our charity with evaluating our energy options and they came up with a good range of choices quickly. Were incredible in the support for the actual switch in suppliers, particularly where we had an issue with a couple of unreasonable objections from our former supplier. I would highly rate the professionalism of Utility Aid, and they are not pushy like other brokers.

So useful and friendly :)

We have used Utility Aid for sometime and having taken over the utilities from another team member I have found them so helpful. They are so useful for many reasons but the biggest has been in making sure we are getting the best value for our utilities over many sites we have. The team are so helpful with dealing with administration nightmares with utility companies too - Ellie, Alanna, Doris and the team all are so friendly and helpful.

Excellent Service

I cannot thank Utility Aid enough for the excellent service they gave, particularly Tracey, in resolving a problem we had with our account with a service provider. Trace went above and beyond over a considerable period of time negotiating on our behalf. She was unfailingly polite and persisted until a satisfactory outcome was reached. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Utility Aid to anyone.

Super helpful, polite, positive and a pleasure to work with !

We've been working with Utility Aid for some time now, several years, and they have really helped us a lot. They are on hand to help and guide us through the administrative nightmare of dealing with energy companies.

Recently Utility Aid helped us review our current direct debits and how much energy we were actually using. This meant we were able to get a refund as we had overpaid for several months.

Utility Aid have also helped produce a super helpful Excel spreadsheet that shows just how much energy in Kw/h and money we have been using on a month by month basis, over the last year, 2023. This has been really helpful as we have secured local authority funding to provide a warm community space. The local authority wanted to know how much energy has been used for this service and how much it cost so the help from the team at Utility Aid has been really useful.

The team at Utility Aid are always a pleasure work with and very polite, positive and able to respond in a timely manner.

Really helped us out

We had real trouble getting SSE to install and commission a smart meter for us, and Kinga and her colleagues at Utility Aid was a real help. They stayed on the case until we finally had it working, and were always responsive, courteous and helpful.

Utility Aid to the rescue!

We had some issues with the energy provider for our church who had miscalculated our usage for up to 2 years and were trying to avoid paying back what was owed. We struggled for months to engage them to no avail. Utility Aid gave us the support needed to resolve the matter. A massive thank you to Kinga who ensured that we were updated regularly and was unrelenting in getting us the resolution that we needed.
Utility Aid have also found us a new supplier that is cheaper. They will be managing our energy account, liaising directly with the supplier on our behalf.

Utility Aid always get the best deal for you and remind you of when it is best to start planning to switch energy deals. They provide excellent support after you have started a contract to make sure you continue to get the best deal, are always happy to advise and respond to any query incredibly quickly.

Outstanding performance

For years we have struggled through the many problems created by incompetent, ill-organised and chaotic energy suppliers to our village hall. We recently connected with Utility Aid and they took responsibility for finding a new supplier who have proved to be the opposite of their predecessor. Contact with Utility Aid is so easy, phones are instantly answered and e mails elicit rapid responses. They make life so much easier.

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service from Carly at Utility Aid when helping resolve electricity supplier switch. Always the first to initiate contact and clearly worked hard behind the scenes to monitor the issue and provide an update as soon as new information was available.

Sent me unsolicited email

Sent me unsolicited email with no unsubscribe option. The email was clearly a sales pitch out of the blue for their energy broker services. There was no option to click to unsubscribe, nor an obvious was to have my details removed from their database. I notice other reviews have mentioned this and replies have stated that this button is now included. That appears to be untrue.

They claim to have got the email "from the Facebook page" which is odd as they then couldn't provide the exact Facebook page they got it from. Seems like some rather disreputable marketing practises from this company.

Great service and advice from Utility Aid

We decided to use Utility Aid for the first time this year having had a recommendation from the Baptist Union. I couldn't have been more happy with the service we received from Michael Curry. Trying to navigate the best deal just as the energy market was reacting to the crisis in Israel was nerve-racking but Michael was clear, thorough and very professional giving me the knowledge and confidence to make the right decision for our church. All the paperwork was online and easy to access which meant we could take advantage of quotes before they were suspended or prices rose. Thank you again!
