Accessible and Efficient Service

Dealing with Daniel Stockport and other members of the team was easy, individual and hassle-free. Daniel helped to smooth out various queries on our existing energy accounts, especially securing a significant refund in relation to an incorrect rate of VAT. Excellent

Louis at Utility Alliance has helped me out since January after having problems with SSE. He now deals with all my energy needs and is excellent. Contacts me monthly just to check Im happy with things, and if I do have an issue he sorts it. Also I send all energy calls we get at work through to Louis to deal with as it was getting to the point of 6-7 a day that all seems to of stopped now. I cannot recommend this company enough they have really helped me out.

Who do they act for?

Not clever. I am the only director of my small company and have an email from Connor Cronin at Utility Alliance confirming any contract had to be made with me. I am also a solicitor so staff know that's the case. He then managed to get some very dodgy e-signature document from a junior employee, the details of this document shows there is a problem with the signature - because no such contract - wrong IP address for us etc. An employee of Utility Alliance, describing herself as our Operations Manager, signed us up in August 2018 to March 2024 at an absurdly high tariff with Total from whom I presume they get huge commission - telling Total we will spend £180,000 on electricity in that period. Total has now realised the issue with Utility Alliance and released us to go to EDF on a much lower tariff. Thank you Total and EDF for rescuing us. I have now received a threatening letter from Lisa Winter who is the in-house solicitor for Utility Alliance threatening us with a court action for defamation over my Trust Pilot listing. Trouble with some energy agents is that they pretend to work for customers as your agent but there is a serious conflict of interest when they are actually working for the commission from the energy company. So they aren't likely to have customers interest at heart. Utility Alliance wouldn't do that sort of thing I am sure.

A Great company to work with

A Great company to work with, Samantha Childs has been amazing, she got the best deal for us, and helped with a query whereby the meter reader had read the wrong meter for over 3 years, Sam took the stress away from me and sorted everything out and we received a fantastic refund. Thanks Sam.

Sam is professional, helpful and friendly and an asset to the company, she made me feel confident that we she was getting the best deal for us and that they were not just another cold calling company that just want the sales and don't care about their clients.

After initially leaving a good review…

After initially leaving a good review for Utility Alliance, I have since had nothing but trouble! I was pushed to make a review by the company when our relationship was at it's best and they were promising the world. Since then, they have got all my accounts into such a mess, and have been less than helpful sorting it all out. They have also sold me what I was lead to believe were competitive prices, but on reflection, they are really expensive! And now I have no way of getting out of them! I have made a formal complaint but they don't seem interested in what my issues are. Avoid at all cost!!!

This is a genuine experience with…

This is a genuine experience with Utility Alliance, therefore a genuine review. As the company's Office Manager I have always had so many phone calls about electricity, gas & water bills, all claiming they can save the cost. I never agreed to any companies/agents because of the hassle of changing utilities. But finally I took Utility Alliance on as a trial for our electricity bill, what a disaster! Steven Dane who initially emailed me all the new rates, which looked very enticing and in b&w he said in the email: 'you will not be liable for any non-commodity charges as these are included in the above rates'. So I took the 'bait'. Then at point of signing contract, he said we needed to do telephone recording, knowing that I've never done such things before, he added a daily standing charge of £10.39 (which equals to nearly £3.8k a year!!) and the way he said it over the phone was so vague and unclear, I didn't quite catch that. Only when I saw the paperwork after the contract gone live, I then noticed the shocking daily standing charge, I queried with them immediately. That was in April. Until middle of July I still have not had the phone recording sent over to me, even though it was promised to me so many time. It was eventually the new electricity provider who helped me and forwarded the voice recording to me now. I am now going to raise a formal complaint with Utility Alliance, then further to Ofgem or Ombudsman about their unprofessional and fraudulence way of tricking customers into new contract.
I would therefore recommend everyone to be very cautious and DO NOT do telephone contract, always do over emails and in writing!

Marc Young at Utility Alliance

Marc Young at Utility Alliance has managed to get us fantastic savings for both our Electricity and Gas contracts this year. He was able to show me yearly and monthly figures for many different companies for comparison and made the whole process much easier for me. I will be going to him for our water as well and highly recommend him.

Our organisation has been using Utility for over 3 years

Our organisation has been using Utility Alliance for over 3 years now to negotiate the gas and electric contracts across our multi-site business. Harley Ferguson has been great, always easy to get in touch with and makes sure that nothing falls between the cracks. I can recommend their services highly.

Absolutely shocking service

Absolutely shocking service! They sent me 36months contract for electricity, with standing fee of £9. I checked it and signed it, then I got sent another one and was asked to sign again, i didnt check it, they told me it's the same contract I thought ther was a problem with a signature. How wrong was I, they tried to lock me in for shocking £55 every month. Now I argue with both companies, nobody wants to know, its very stressful and time consuming. Angela who organised this, ignores me, so does the entire company! We are taking this to ombudsman and prepared to give even to court. Nice work guys! Highly recommend to stay away from this company!

Excellent Service from Mathew Harland at UA

During a very problematic 'switch' from Bulb Energy, these guys were excellent, full on the case trying to get it sorted, Mathew Harland was my saving grace when Bulb were stressing me out so much, phone call after phone call he made to them and always kept me in touch with the latest updates.

Can't thank him enough for getting this sorted, I pity anyone trying to leave Bulb without having these guys on your case.
