Excellent introduction to UX Design

I recently completed the UX Design Institute’s Diploma in UX Design and thought it was fantastic. The content is clear, practical, and easy to follow, with short videos and quizzes that really help reinforce the concepts. The projects build nicely on one another and give you confidence in applying what you’ve learned.

It’s a self-paced course, so time management is key—I left most of mine until the last 4 months of my 12-month access (not recommended if you’re working full-time!). My biggest tip is to complete the projects close together so the themes stay fresh.

The team were always responsive and supportive, and while collaboration with peers is limited, the Slack community and email support are great. Don’t be intimidated by the Figma element either—it’s easier to pick up than you think, and there are plenty of tutorials to help.

If you’re looking for a flexible, well-structured, and practical introduction to UX, I’d highly recommend this course.

Very complete course

Although quite expensive for the information provided. It's a very clear and well structured course. The exam also very accurately measures your knowledge in the subject.

Insightful and Highly-Recommended

I signed up for their Product Design Programme and I've completed the first leg which is the UX Design Professional Diploma. I found the course information well structured and insightful. And the projects progression useful. Although some content examples are a little dated now, the overall principles are effective no matter the time. Highly recommend for both new to product design and professionals who need to legitimise their self-taught journey.

5 Star Courses, Highly Recommend

Just completed my second course (UX Design Diploma) with the UXDI and had an amazing experience. The learning material was very clear, well-presented and accompanied by some really helpful tools. Lifetime access to the Slack channel is extremely useful, where there is always someone available to answer questions. I'd recommend anyone to complete a course here.

A huge lead forward for my content design career

The Professional Certificate in Content Design program helped me further my understanding of UX design and further my content career. Watching the videos and completing projects ensured I absorbed the material. I walked away with actionable steps to improve the user experience on my company's website and different ways to test page content and user flow. Taking this course was a big step forward in my content design career. Thank you!

A must for those considering a career in UX/UI design

The UX and UI courses I took with the UX Design Institute were incredibly structured and informative. They are well worth the investment if you're seriously considering a career in UX/UI design. A highly underrated value-add is the career coaching and support you get from UXDI after graduating. Most courses and bootcamps will take your money and forget about you, but not UXDI! I've been fortunate to have some of Eoghain's time recently to help me navigate the job market and he has been super helpful. I highly recommend UXDI!

Great student support

Not only is the content well organised and easy to follow but also the support we had as students is very good. It is a course not just to learn more about the discipline, but it is also about how to design your own career and take the first steps on the business

Great supportive course for someone new to UX

As someone coming from a completely different background and hoping to transition into Product Design, I found the UXDI's Professional Diploma really valuable. Lots of information, really helpful and friendly staff, practical examples and projects to really learn and put theory into practice from the start. The course is well-structured with clear, engaging content (videos, written materials, and optional readings to dive deeper). I personally found the recommended schedule really helpful to avoid procrastination! The practical projects helped me apply what I was learning from the start, and the supportive staff made a big difference. I successfully completed my UX Design course in 6 months (as recommended) and I am really happy with my experience. Now currently working on putting my portfolio and CV together - great post-certificate career advice too!

Good if you want to put your career goals in order

I recommend the course if you are looking to put your career goals in order and if you want to have an structured overview of your learning.
It is easy to follow the learning path but very disconnected for a personal learning experience. If you are not a motivated self-learning person you should not take it. otherwise you will end tired, confused and overwhelmed.

A Game-Changer for My UX Journey

I’m genuinely very satisfied with the UX Design Institute course. Over the last few years, I’ve taken several UX and web design courses on platforms like Udemy — covering UX design, HTML, CSS, Sass, and Bootstrap. While those courses were informative and gave me solid theoretical knowledge, they didn’t provide a clear structure or help me build a portfolio. I felt like I had the theory, but lacked the practical experience and direction needed to apply it in real-world work.

This course, recommended by a friend, was exactly what I needed. It gave me a clear working process — from research to prototyping — and helped me understand how UX is applied professionally. It’s hands-on, structured, and focused on real deliverables, which makes a huge difference.

If you already have some knowledge and want to solidify it, or if you're starting out and want a clear path into UX design, I’d say this course is 100% worth it. It helped me connect the dots and build confidence in my skills. Highly recommended!

Self-paced, university-credit rated course, professional education

I recently completed the UX Design course from the UX Design Institute (accredited by Glasgow Caledonian University), and I can honestly say it was one of the most valuable learning experiences I've had.

The course gives you a strong user-centred mindset. It teaches how to plan and run solid user research and analyse customer experiences. You will learn to design friction-free key workflows like onboarding or payments for both desktop and mobile. There's a great balance between theory and practice – by the end of the course, you'll create a high-fidelity prototyping based on your research findings and proper developer handovers using industry-standard tools.

The course also gave me a clear and structured understanding of UX as a discipline. One thing I found especially valuable was realizing how transferable UX skills are – not just in product design, but also in any field where the user or client experience is key, such as service design or communication.

Throughout the course, the support from tutors on Slack was excellent – anytime something wasn’t clear, they responded quickly with helpful advice and guidance. The live webinars were another big plus: they offered the chance to discuss our own project work, ask questions, and get feedback directly from experienced professionals.

What I really loved were the recommended readings. Each module includes carefully curated resources that go beyond the basics and truly inspire deeper thinking and learning. My library grows with new books about UX now :)

If you're serious about getting into UX design or levelling up your skills with a solid, structured foundation, I highly recommend this course.

It was an amazing experience

I have 6 years of UI/UX design experience in Japan. I took this UX design course to deepen my knowledge and adapt my experience for relocating to Ireland. The course provided real-world resources and exercises, which made me confident that the experience I gained in Japan is both valuable and transferable to a UX design career in Europe. Although the job market has been tough in 2024 and it's still unclear how much the certification will impact my job search, I feel satisfied that the experience I gained through the course has made me even stronger as a designer.

Fantastic course

Fantastic course, really detailed and the staff were incredibly helpful after I finished the course too, constantly helping me with my portfolio and job interviews. I got a job as a UX Designer 4 months after graduating and I've now been in that job for 3 and a half years. I've met a lot of other designers in my career who did similar courses but they never went into the same level of detail this course did. Honestly, if you want to change your career, this is the one to do.

Good course, can recommend

This was a good course and I learnt a lot. The UX advisers were helpful and supportive. I did find some of the Figma projects a challenge as I've not used the platform before and the step by step instructions were not as clear as they could have been for a newbie to Figma. The problem now of course is how long before all my new skills will be out of date!

13 year research veteran

As a 13 year research industry veteran making the switch to UX from market research, this class was immensely helpful. The support, training, and guidance received is well worth the admission fee! Highly recommend.

Meh and pricey

Meh, Not really worth the $$$. You can ask chat gpt for UX fundamentals and learn figma from YouTube tutorials. As a newbie I felt the courses were underwhelming and didn’t prepare me for the design portion of the class. When I asked for assistance, they guided me to a tutorial page but I’m wondering why these were not presented weekly with the lecture courses? I made it all the way towards the final but felt completely lost when it came to prototyping and interactive designing in figma. It’s probably super easy for someone who’s used figma before otherwise it’s just a headache and wasted money.
