Meh and pricey
Meh, Not really worth the $$$. You can ask chat gpt for UX fundamentals and learn figma from YouTube tutorials. As a newbie I felt the courses were underwhelming and didn’t prepare me for the design portion of the class. When I asked for assistance, they guided me to a tutorial page but I’m wondering why these were not presented weekly with the lecture courses? I made it all the way towards the final but felt completely lost when it came to prototyping and interactive designing in figma. It’s probably super easy for someone who’s used figma before otherwise it’s just a headache and wasted money.
Really enjoyable course with all the…
Really enjoyable course with all the online support and tools to complete in your own time. Would definitely recommend!
Bridging theory and practice for a self-taught UX designer
As a seasoned designer and developer without much formal education, I wanted to strengthen my skills in UX process and methods. While I found the research and analysis modules especially rewarding, I was also greatly inspired by everything I learned throughout the course. The modules encompass many aspects of our jobs as designers and researchers, creating a solid knowledge base and practical skills for becoming better at what we do and understanding how everything interconnects.
I'd also like to highlight the recurring webinars for each content block. Watching experts demonstrate and review real-world examples was affirming and inspiring when I was uncertain about solving tasks. This support, combined with the student success team's availability for questions and the collaborative Slack community of fellow students sharing progress, was incredibly valuable for my success.
I've already applied much of the theory and practical skills I learned from this course in my job, and I frequently reference my notes and project portfolio.
Warmly recommended.
The best UX online program
Probably the best online program out there.
Every word of the lecturer is a treasure
An exciting adventure into the world of UX! The first thing I enjoyed was the structure of the training and what the design process consists of! These guys definitely know their stuff!
Secondly, a bunch of examples: from usability test scenarios, and key points of communication with stakeholders to how to make friends with AI
Thirdly, valuable feedback on webinars and the opportunity to work in a team, creating an Affinity Map☺️
In fact, I could talk about it nonstop for half a year while this training lasted! I advise everyone who wants to pursue UX design. It is multi-layered, but with the UX Design Institute, it is exciting!
Excellent hands-on experience and support
The UX Design Institute provides you with the tools you need to learn concepts and skills through hands-on experience and a team of supportive professionals. I really enjoyed each lesson. I am also grateful for the flexibility I was given. I was supported through each step of the way and will continue to reap the benefits of this program long after completing it. Thank you all so much!
Invaluable course experience
Following a comparison of another institution and seeking the opinions of alumni, I decided to take the Professional Certificate in User Research. This course provided me with an opportunity to learn more about user research on an in-depth level. Having this essential skill set will enhance the value I provide to my clients as a Product Designer.
Comprehensive and practical, the course offers a wide range of topics. Moreover, the content is well-organised. It was a great experience working on those projects and getting feedback from the webinar. I appreciated the opportunity to get my work reviewed by industry experts.
Furthermore, the Slack channel staff is helpful and responsive.
However, improvements are still needed. An example of improvement would be to arrange a live discussion with the hiring team and a live workshop on certain topics that require more interaction, such as how to apply triangulation knowledge to research questions.
UX Design Fundamentals + Professional Diploma in UX
I started my journey in UX back in January, 2024 doing a short course in UX Design Fundamentals as a first step. The way learning materials were presented and an opportunity to go through them at my own pace worked just great for me. After successful completion I made a decision to dive deeper and took Professional Diploma in UX - this course combined all the best features of the previous one with an extended curriculum, hands on practical experience, live webinars where I received feedback for my project work. I am job hunting for my first role in UX at the moment and the support I'm getting at 1:1 career coaching sessions has been incredible. Massive thanks to everyone in UX Design Insititute who has been supporting me in this journey
Good course
I recently completed the UX/UI and Product Design course with the UX Design Institute, and it was a positive experience that gave me an understanding of both user experience and interface design. Overall, I would recommend the course.
Pros:
Comprehensive: The course covers essential topics such as user research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing if you want to do it. I tested it with my design work colleagues and found it very useful.
Practical: The assignments are project-based and mirror real-world scenarios. I particularly enjoyed working on a full end-to-end case study.
Flexible Learning: The course is self-paced, which allowed me to balance my learning with work commitments. As I work full-time and wasn’t able to dedicate 5 hours per week during work hours, I decided to take a few weeks off and complete it. I’m so grateful for the flexibility provided.
Cons:
No feedback for individual projects (or apologies if I missed it): While there were assignment grades and feedback at the end of the course, I had no visibility—apart from a ‘pass’ or a ‘redo’—of how I was performing on each project. However, when I asked for feedback, I received it - it just wasn’t part of the standard process.
Not necessarily a con, but something to consider: It would be great to have webinars with potential (global) employers presenting on what they expect from candidates. And any recruitment processes. This would provide students with a sense of real-world expectations across different industries.
Not worth the money
I purchased the Professional Diploma in UX Design in 2024, and completed it in 2025. TLDR: the experience isn't any better than Skillshare or similar, so don't pay the premium for the certificate.
Pros:
- the learning management system is pretty good.
- the student support team are prompt and helpful in replying to comments and emails.
- some of the UX professionals that hosted the module webinars were very interesting and helpful.
- the course is largely comprised of video content, which is clear and easy to follow.
Cons:
- there was little to no engagement from the cohort and members of the Slack community. Part of the reason I chose this course was to have a collaborative experience, which didn't materialise.
- the only feedback mechanism for most modules is to submit coursework to a webinar, where it may or may not be reviewed live. I didn't think for the cost of the course that was acceptable.
- the course is pricey considering there's no live teaching, no instructor feedback (except the final coursework), I wouldn't say it was good value for money.
- I was expecting some acknowledgement from the accrediting institution that I was a student on the course, but there was none.
- there was big gap in the learning materials provided in relation to completing the final module coursework in Figma. I had to seek several alternative resources to fill this gap in my learning.
It was a very enjoyable journey
It was a very enjoyable journey. The program is very well structured, clear, and insightful. You can also complete the course modules and assignments at your own pace. They were even willing to extend my completion timeline at no extra cost because of my hectic work schedule. The assignments were substantive, which gave me the chance to bring forth my passion for content design. Very thankful for this opportunity.
Really enjoyed the self-paced learning
Really enjoyed the self-paced learning. The student success team were quick to reply to any questions I had and were so helpful. I learned a lot and hope to complete another course with UXDI soon!
This was a lovely experience
This was a lovely experience. I love the ease of communication from the team.
It was an incredible journey
It was an incredible journey. The program is very well structured, and I didn't feel alone in the process, which is hard to achieve considering it is a fully remote course. I enjoyed every step, the webinars were productive and insightful. The projects were challenging enough to motivate me, and there was enough time to complete everything even if I had my own pace.
Comprehensive, Transformative Course
I thoroughly enjoyed taking the Professional UX Diploma course and gaining a comprehensive understanding of User Experience (UX). It reinforced my existing knowledge about UX and has elevated my skills as a holistic UX Professional and Practitioner. I highly recommend this course to both individuals entering the field and those with 1-5 years of experience. It will set you apart as a standout UX professional in the industry.
Well structured course, well organised
Well structured course which would suit a busy student lifestyle as is distance learning. The tutors are nice and helpful, they are able to assist you when you have any questions or help.
Great team, great course.
The UXDI team are great and incredibly responsive, the course is set out to give you a strong UX portfolio for both people new to the industry, or those looking to add strings to their bows. Would recommend!
This course is very elaborately made…
This course is very elaborately made with lots of examples and good information. The most important is the slack community where I found my project partners from around the World.
Very good course
Very good course. Gives you the bare essentials for doing UX Design, and explains it in a way that even a someone who's not very experienced with digital design can understand. Also the post course support has been very good - with constant career advice and advisors at hand for your job seeking needs.
A fantastic course
The course was really comprehensive and the practical experience from completing the projects really helped to supplement the learning. The Slack channel and seminars are a great help with getting some feedback or just seeing what other people have done. The tutors and UXDI team are also really friendly and super helpful whenever you ask any questions.
Don't be put off by the exam. I was a little worried about the exam when I signed up but there was no need to be as I found I had a good working knowledge of all of the concepts covered by the time I reached that end point.
