Out tutor is great. The billing is confusing and they're very easy to get ahold of when you're signing up, the response is a wait when resolution is requested. I am very pleased with the lessons and... See more

I spoke with a representative of the company, but decided that I did not have a need for their services. I said I was going to recommend them to a family member but I could not commit for another person. Since then I've been hounded with phone calls. The first was it 7:03am on a Saturday. I texted them and asked them never to call me again. They have continued to call me and even called me again at 7:30 a.m. on a Saturday.
Secondly, over $100 an hour for tutoring seems excessive.

The tutors are great and so is customer service!
very fluent, experienced teacher who adjudted her teaching method to my level of French.
I had a very hard time using this website. At one point he had some free programming classes and I could not figure out how to cancel them since they were on the wrong day.
It sent WAY WAY to many spammy text messages
I had this set up to for reading, reading comprehension and writing. The tutor originally was giving half math classes. That was not what I asked for and not what was she was supposed to be teaching. I also said the material was not grade level - it was two years off. She promised to have an evaluation and teach stuff at a fifth grade level. The recent classes were still 2nd or 3rd grade level. It was a complete waste of time and money. I can't figure out how to cancel it so I killed the credit card.

Varsity tutors are helping my kids tremendously, their tutors are amazing and knowledgeable. Their customer service is always available and understanding, they help with any and all issues.
The site is well organized, Jon Knight is very through and teachs how to understand the coding descriptions, and how to read for key words in the documentation to find the correct code.
A great learning experience, due to the teacher dedication. Thank you!
The patience, knowledge of the subject and how he breaks it down to easier to understand pieces. Great Job
I appreciate that when I call I get "straight up" answers. I am VERY satisfied with my Tutor Anais.
This has been a very good experience
My son is learning and is confidence level is up
We love our tutor, but the billing plans at Varsity Tutors seem setup to take advantage of you. They only do X sessions per month plans and they don't roll over for missed sessions. So if you or your tutor is sick a week or go on vacation, then there's no refund and your only recourse is to reschedule an extra session. You can change plans in advance but the only way to do that is to call them on the phone and then you have to do that again to change it back.

I subscribed to Varsity Tutors after talking to one of its marketing agents, a very convincing guy.
-He never told me this service was a monthly subscription.
-If I hadn't changed credit cards, I never would have noticed the payments, because they didn't send me receipts by email.
-I realised I was charged 4 months without knowing, for a total of 1600$ CAD.
-Luckily I was reimbursed, but THEY WANTED ME TO SIGN AN NDA IN EXCHANGE FOR MY MONEY!!! Which I never did, because since I live in Canada, the NDA wasn't valid here. Did you ever heard of an enterprise that made you sign an NDA in exchange from your own money?!? Do you imagine how many bad reviews you would have of them not telling it's a monthly subscription, if it wasn't for the NDAs they make people sign?!?
-I don't know if the hiding of the information of the subscription is only from the agent or it's a company policy, but they sure look used to doing it or letting the agent do it by the looks of how many people comment about it, this is not an isolated incident.
- By the way, 100$ CAD an hour is absolutely ridiculous for a class you can find half the price for the same quality.
- One last thing: they don't tell you you lose the credits you don't use. So imagine they charged me 1200$ for classes I couldn't even do anymore. Never seen any business do that.
- Looks to me this is a marketing scheme pretending to be a reputable business.

My tutor is very patient and understanding, she knows how to explain even the most difficult Algebra problems, I really appreciate Mariam , I feel really at ease when attending my Algebra class knowing I have a really good support system, again thank you
This experience was horrible, and I’m not saying this because of the tutors especially my tutor Rosa who did an excellent job at teaching me. I’m saying this because of the company and the people who are in charge of this. Before the membership they don’t explain how the packet really works and how you are being charged. And after that they don’t give you a refund unless you actually want to make a complaint. So because of this horrible experience I would not recommend this company programming to anybody.

Sandra was great. But I’ve cancelled my classes. Please refund what you just charged me.
