Customer service is non-existent

They love to get you to sign up but make it near impossible and costly to cancel with dreadful customer service. So buyer beware. I will never give them any more money and always tell people to avoid them. Terrible company!!!

I see why other gyms cost more

Glendale Heights,Illinois location

"$25 cancellation fee" on top of your gym membership + group training fee for a total cancellation of $62. (Screenshot your confirmation that your membership has been cancelled because they do not notify you by email that you have done so)

The classes are constantly booked throughout the day and upcoming days. It's hard to get a workout in because for once, a gym is OVERLY crowded. Because the basic membership is $10, a lot of people and kids use this place as a hangout. This makes it extremely difficult to get a workout in when 3-4 people are at one machine.

Might be strange to think how this can really matter, but the lack of social awareness from their employees is eminent. I've been greeted once in the six months of my membership. The other times, the employees just sit together behind the desk on their phones.

Compared to other gyms, employees are constantly on the move to clean up the gym. Not at this place. The bathrooms are disgusting (dirty and smelly)

I feel bad sounding so negative but this has been my experience at Vasa. It seems nice that a membership can be so cheap for what you get, but your employees, organization and cleanliness it what matters too.

They are dishonest

They are dishonest. Their customer service is a joke. Once they have your information, they will charge you and make discontinuing membership, expensive and difficult.

Horrible place to work at and workout…

Horrible place to work at and workout at. They only care about profits. I get that it’s a business but they sacrifice caring about their members to earn a profit. Vasa Fitness claims their membership is month to month but they make you jump through so many hoops to get out of your membership, good luck. Their personal training department started as “Help them move better, feel better, get stronger and they will not only stay but bring others”. After a new CEO came in 5 years or so ago, it became more about “just get them to sweat so they think they are getting a good workout in.” No care about if they got injured or better.

Horrible Run Around Customer Service

Everyone, check your charges on your checking account. We got a charge of $3.76 on ACH withdraw at VASA here in Littleton, CO. It was for some protein chips and we weren't even there to purchase it. The gym staff and the call center verified this. So I was told to call Corporate to get the refund. The number given was (801) 426-8644. Well it's not corporate member services. It's a call center, so they said they couldn't do anything. I have to email them. So I know $3.76 does not seem like a big deal, but what if they did that to a 1000 clients? That's stealing. That tells me the staff is not quality and they think it's okay to steal from customers. They can't refund money except through email. That means they probably don't answer emails either. This is completely ridiculous. It's best not to join VASA. Terrible customer service and they steal.

horrible customer service

It is extremely difficult to get ahold of customer service. It should be just as easy to cancel the account as it is to set up the account. The call back option does not work so dont trust it, it will either not call you back, hang up on you when it does or it will get stuck in a loop and not connect you to an agent. Your just going to have to sit on hold for 20-30 minutes. also make sure the email you a confirmation because if they dont have notes that yiou called they will assume your lieing about trying to cancel before. I will never use this gym again. it was crowded they dont work with you or do refunds. reguardless of how long you have been a customer. for me its not even about the money its the way they have puposely made it so difficult to cancel. my customer service agent was also a supervisor, she had no empathy, she didnt care about what i had to say. I know she could have done more but she chose not to. id rather pay more money just to have more control over my own account through an app that works then have to deal with this level of customer service.

Beware

My fiancé committed suicide last year and he and I owned a business but after he did that the business was shut down which meant no work for me and no paycheck. I tried to shut down my vasa membership but the company and employees would not let me do so. The charges just keep adding up and a year and a half later that have still charged me and still won’t let me shut it off. I finally had to change my bank card and send emails but they continue to try to charge, even after I told them they do not have my permission to do so. The people that I have spoken to have been a nightmare, they said they will continue to charge my card for services never received.

Poor customer service

I have very few positive things to say about vasa fitness. I had called 3 times and been on hold for over 20 minutes every time. Each time I have called it has been at different times of the day so I have a hard time believing that there is never anyone to talk to.
I had canceled my account months ago only to find that I was still being charged. So I blocked the charges on my banks end. After some investigation turns out I was being charged for my husbands account that was attached to mine. One of the not so helpful workers at our “home” gym told me that when I canceled my plan any attached accounts, such as my husbands, would be canceled as well. Obviously that was a lie. So last week I opened the link that had been sent to me from the paramount collection services to just give them “their” money because I am sick of fighting this, it said my payment of about 70$ was accepted. So I hoped to be able to now finally get my husbands account canceled as well. We went into our, oh so helpful, “home” gym yet again only for them to tell us “they don’t know how to cancel a plan and can’t help us”. They gave us a sticky note with numbers on it and told us we’d need them to cancel the account and to go online and there should be a button. So do they really not know how or is it yet another scheme to keep getting more money?
Anyways, I am now angry and frustrated and feel very lied to. If you have money to spare go ahead and enjoy VASA but know it will be more money than you’re told upfront.
The equipment and gyms themselves are fine, just always packed and hard to find a space to workout.

If I could I would leave zero stars

If I could I would leave zero stars! I have been a member for a few years at least and my kids also. And have seen so many time people walking in to check in they would be never checked for name, or home location gym and etc. But happened that I took my daughter with me to workout for the first time in many months to a different location as she under 16, but her home location was different. And Vasa stuff with their manager Lisa in Saratoga Springs would kick her out of the gym, without a human understanding that this kid cannot just seat in the car while I’m in the gym. After talking for a long time to let her in, it was not successful. We left gym with a very bad and heavy feelings of crappy service and I have decided to cancel all the Vasa membership. Ridiculous! Not professional!

You're about to get taken to the cleaners!

When you sign up for a $9.99 per month deal that will never change... and you then get charged $50+ a couple months later as a "rate guarantee fee" (after I got charged I asked what it was for)--and they won't let you cancel your membership unless that fee is paid (even though it would be for service in the future, right?!) along with the next two month's charges. They follow the worst customer service practices you'll ever come across. Save yourself the cost and anger and go somewhere that has morals, let alone good customer service.

Random Higher Membership Rate + Hidden Fees

They charged me 28.87 for the basic membership which is 9.99, and randomly $81 on the third month!!!! There are hidden fees, like a fixed rate fee of $25 that kicks in the second month, a cancellation fee of $25 if you cancel before 6 months, and a $3 no-show fee for classes!! The pool reeks of chlorine so that your skin will smell for days afterward. They don't actively clean the equipment or the pool area. The sauna is a sweatbox. No towels and no basketballs on site but they have a court. There's no schedule for the court, so it's always full and unusable.

It is one of the worst gyms I been too. They literally force you into signing an offer that’s happening. You can’t cancel a membership till you pay in full no matter what your circumstances is which is ridiculously !!!! Their customer service sucks and they’re so rude and not helpful at all.

Its not worth your time money or health

So to use just he weights to work out it's 9.99 a month cool, actually it's almost $13 a month after they add on 30% in extra fees.

Heres my issue, I just go there to play basketball and nothing else. Recently my membership which is a basic membership didn't work to get inside the basketball court even though when I initially signed up in agent told me this will be fine to just play basketball. The customer service there told me I need to pay an additional 15 plus dollars to play basketball. I voice my opinion that they should come up with a membership that includes only basketball play since there's a membership that includes only using the weights, I tell one of the agents that and he keeps telling me they don't have that and I was telling him I know you don't I'm making a suggestion and he just wanted to fight me about it.

I then said I need to cancel my membership immediately he then told me I have to do it through the app and in that process he gives me two ID numbers that I was unaware that I had with this company, then to cancel the membership I need to know exactly which debit or credit card I used the 3-digit security code and expiration date all of the above just to cancel the the membership, I advised to him who carries that information on them while they're in the gym, this company makes it very hard to cancel your membership. I then told him how about you cancel it for me, he proceeds to do so and then tells me I'm going to get an email and I have to click on the email and if I don't click on the email then the membership won't be canceled, I tell him I have not received an email yet he says wait one or two days, I'm guessing this company wants me to forget that I canceled the membership and maybe missed the email so that they can keep charging me money, this is underhanded tactic and buyers should be aware. Show the email finally came in and I click on it and it's basically the same thing that I did while I was there just a link to go through the whole process to confirm what card number and these special ID numbers that I need to cancel the membership. Essentially that guy didn't do anything but send me a link he didn't cancel anything , this is terrible.
Unless you want bad service and higher than advertised prices go to Vasa.

Predatory

Predatory. Very hard to cancel. They say it is easy to do on the app but not easy at all! I cancelled three times on the phone, through the app and email. They continued to charge and sent me to collections!

Vasa is a very shady company

Vasa is a very shady company. They make it look easy and like good pricing up front, but once they have your card and info they make it very hard for you to make payments and very easy for you to miss them! Once they get you to miss a payment they lock on EXTENSIVE late fees!

What started as a $10/month membership quickly ended up costing me $100 in two months!!

As soon as there is a competitor in the area I will be switching!

VASA Fitness sent me to collections for…

VASA Fitness sent me to collections for an account that was canceled in 2023 and of which I was not notified. Additionally, when I tried to communicate with the collections agency Aldous & Associates P.L.L.C, they refused to explain the charge to me and did not provide details of my contract or the nearly $500 they are charging. So, I contacted VASA directly to access the electronic contract that I was supposed to have signed but never received a copy of to review. I also informed them that if the debt is legitimate, I am willing to pay it, but I need to verify everything because we went through a cancellation process over the phone, and I was never notified that I needed to send a letter by mail. Therefore, I believe that not only does the company have poor in-person service, lack hygiene in the changing rooms, and have a disorganized system, but it also engages in fraudulent contracts, making charges that it cannot explain and denying its customers the right to defend themselves or know the details of each contract. At this point, due to the lack of accessibility from both companies, I doubt the validity of this charge, which until I have access to review for its accuracy, is not mine.

TERRIBLE Customer service!!

I am absolutely outraged and feel it's my duty to call out this gym for their atrocious service. Two years ago, they falsely assured me that my account was cancelled, yet, shockingly, they continued to charge $9.99 from my account every single month for two years! When my family finally discovered this unacceptable error, the gym had the audacity to demand an additional $90 to "cancel" my account again—a process I was led to believe had already been completed. What's more, attempting to reach any form of management, whether directly at the gym or via phone, turned out to be a complete waste of time. Their customer service is a joke. My frustration is through the roof, and I pledge to make sure everyone I know is aware of this nightmare. I strongly advise you to avoid this place at all costs unless you want to be their next target. This gym is unequivocally the absolute worst.

I was forced…

I went in to clear my head I was forced to sign a negligible contract agreement with no formal understanding I haven't even used the gym and I can't cancel in under 30 days without having to pay 54.00 dollars they are crooks they don't care even if they have a great looking facility its because they steal money thru manipulation. Less than 2 weeks
