Faulty Ostris AI template and fraudulent internet bandwitdh claims
Their Ostris AI template is constantly faulty, Stuck at photo upload, never starting jobs, extremely slow/unresponsive UI. I have been using Ostris AI toolkit locally, and never faced these issues. Bandwidths stated on machine descriptions are totally fake. A claimed 1500Mbps is barely 100Mbps. I will never use this service again. Waste of money and time.

Best price, sometimes a bit wonky, stellar customer support
Sometimes my instances just stop but that can be ameliorated by aggressive checkpointing. Customer Service is fast and just all around nice.
4/5 for rare infra issues which at this price point is a 5/5 really :)

My experience with Vast.ai has been extremely disappointing and far below any acceptable standard for a cloud computing provider.
I rented a GPU instance for an important project, but the server was suddenly disconnected without warning. After that, I was completely unable to reconnect to the instance — even when the host clearly showed it was back online.
What makes the situation even worse is that I repeatedly contacted support, and they either gave contradictory information or made promises they never fulfilled. I was told that I would be reconnected as soon as the host came online, yet nothing happened. No action, no solution, and no real support.
Meanwhile, Vast.ai continued to charge my account, even though I had zero access to the server. This is unacceptable for a service that claims to be reliable and user-friendly.
My data was stuck on a machine I couldn’t access, my time was wasted for more than 24 hours, and the overall stress caused by their unresponsive support was simply terrible. For a company operating in the cloud computing and AI training space, this level of service is shocking.
At this point, I cannot recommend Vast.ai to anyone who needs a stable, trustworthy GPU provider.
If you care about your time, your data, and your money, be very cautious with this platform.

Severe Downtime, Misleading Support, and Zero Accountability
I honestly don’t even know where to begin. I’ve been dealing with weeks of downtime on my server, and the worst part isn’t even the outage itself it’s how completely abandoned I felt throughout the entire experience. My work, my data, everything I was running… all of it was just suddenly out of reach with no real explanation and no meaningful help.
I kept reaching out to customer support hoping someone would finally give me a straight answer, and instead I got responses that felt dismissive and completely out of touch with what was actually happening. I was told stories about “power outages” and issues that simply didn’t match reality, especially when the host clearly had other machines running just fine. Seeing that and having screenshots to prove it made it feel like I wasn’t being told the truth at all.
It’s incredibly frustrating to trust a platform with important work only to be met with silence, mixed messages, and what felt like excuses. Being without my data for this long genuinely impacted my project, and the lack of transparency made it even worse. You start to wonder if anyone is actually looking into your issue or if you’re just supposed to wait indefinitely and hope your work magically comes back.
I’m writing this because no one should have to go through this level of stress and uncertainty with a service they’re paying for. This whole experience left me feeling disappointed, angry, and honestly a bit betrayed. I really hope the company realizes how damaging this kind of communication and downtime can be for real customers with real work depending on them.

Enticed by the very cheap prices and it was fast to get set up. But they have the worst UI/UX team on the planet. I ultimately could not get their server to accept my SSH keys in due time and had to move onto another provider. Too many hoops in the console to jump through to actually figure out how to connect to your server with Root access, and it just feels really hard to focus on the product.
Maybe they don't have a UI/UX team and they just asked AI to build a half baked MUI dashboard.
