Love my new upgrades!!

Got myself a android screen with reverse camera and ambient light installed by Ray from VMS. The Android system works great and the company were great to deal with. The boys really know their stuff and are highly experienced. Love the upgrades to my car. Thanks boys!

🤠Proceed with extreme caution.🤠

Proceed with extreme caution.

I booked VMS to install a CarPlay box on my Audi A6. I purchased this box elsewhere. I was informed before that sometimes these boxes do not work and that they can’t be installed.

The installer attempted to fit the box I have, and in the process has damaged my vehicle. My original MMI system no longer functions, meaning I have no audio, car system control or satnav. The screen no longer comes on and I cannot adjust any settings on my car whatsoever.

The installer didn’t have a code reader, didn’t know how to fix the issue or even attempted to. They clearly were out of their depth with the issue and had another appointment to get to so just left me with a broken car. They said that leaving it a while to “rest” would fix it and over 24 hours later I went to use the car and the problem remains.

They took the box out of the vehicle to attempt to return it to stock and that clearly hasn’t worked. My car was error free before this.

After he had attempted to install the box he repeatedly said that this is what happens if you order from china and that you run the risk of it breaking your car and that it has happened before. He did not warn me of this, he didn’t mention anything like before going ahead with the work. I obviously wouldn’t have agreed to go ahead with the work if I knew there was a risk it would damage the vehicle. His response was that “who am I to tell customers what to do to their car”.

The installer did not act with reasonable skill and care. They try to use their own policies to avoid their legal obligations.

Edit in response to reply: engineer did share previous bad experiences with me. But only did this after my car was broken. I am surprised to learn that the CarPlay boxes that VMS installed aren’t from China. I’d love to know where they’re made if that’s the case.

There was no suggestion before installation that there would be any damage to my car. I would not have proceeded if I was made aware of this. Installer then told me after car was broken that this can happen. Clearly knowledge they had that didn’t feel was necessary to share.

The “engineer” didn’t diagnose anything on the day. He didn’t have a code reader. I had to use mine.

The most baffling part of the response is this: “ Additionally, our engineer shared their past experience with similar products to provide you with guidance, even though they were not obligated to do so. It was advise, not factual. Their role was simply to install the product you supplied, not to endorse or guarantee its performance.”

They offered no such “advise”.

First, you mentioned that our engineer did not warn you about potential risks associated with third-party CarPlay boxes from China. However, at the beginning of your review, you acknowledged that you were informed beforehand that these boxes sometimes do not work and cannot be installed. It is ultimately the responsibility of the customer to research the reliability of a product before purchasing it, and it is not our obligation to verify or guarantee the quality of third-party products from China. You were aware before the installation that there are several UK branded options such as ourselves however you chose to purchase a product from China.

The issues you are experiencing—such as loss of audio, system control, and navigation—are directly related to the functionality of the CarPlay box you provided, rather than the workmanship of our engineer. Our team members have years of experience and are highly skilled in their field. Such extensive system malfunctions would not be caused by our installation process but rather by a faulty or incompatible product. As diagnoised by the engineer on the day, there seems to be a fault/glitch with the system you asked the engineer to install.

Additionally, our engineer shared their past experience with similar products to provide you with guidance, even though they were not obligated to do so. It was advise, not factual. Their role was simply to install the product you supplied, not to endorse or guarantee its performance.

As for the suggestion to let the system “rest” this was provided as a possible troubleshooting step to assist you. However, resolving issues related to the product itself would be the responsibility of the supplier from whom you purchased it. If the product is defective, we recommend addressing your concerns with them directly. However we do understand that it is not exactly possible to review a company based in China, please do not use us as a scapegoat.

We strive to provide high-quality service and transparency in our work, and we regret that you feel dissatisfied with your experience. However, we stand by the professionalism and expertise of our engineers and maintain that the issues you encountered stem from the product itself rather than our installation service.

I can't recommend them highly enough

The buying experience was easy, with the VMS team answering questions quickly to help me make the right decision about which Android Auto head unit to buy. The installation was also a breeze, although the component to link the unit to the steering wheel controls was faulty on install, and I had to wait for a replacement coming. It arrived in about a week, and has been perfect ever since. This is nobody's fault, of course.

All in all I have no complaints and recommend VMS highly

Excellent customer service

The service I received was excellent. I purchased a sync 3 upgrade kit. Sent the photo of my system as instructed and they informed me that it was already a sync 3 system! They refunded my order without fuss for which I am extremely grateful. A top service!

Good but not perfect or transparent

Good experience and the product is a great enhancement and update to my Jaguar F type 2014. Ray who did the installation for me was excellent, polite and professional. There were though a few surprises the quoted installation cost on the web site and confirmed by sales is £110 however what was quoted for fitting by Ray the fitter and I believe director was £160, not great professionalism. The initial looks great however it’s not a seamless replacement phone and navigation audio are compromised so be aware it’s not perfect.

If I could give 6 stars I would!

If I could give 6 stars I would! Ray has been such a pleasure to deal with over the past week trying to fix my very temperamental system (a new car play blox in an old Merc). He has the patience of a saint! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and VMS to anyone needing new multimedia equipment fitted. Thank you so much Ray!

Car Play for Mercedes c220d

When I made inquiries about the Apple car play to choose for my car, I got a very good response and advice and Ray the engineer communicated well with me since the day I paid for the box until the day of installation which made me happy . I will recommend this company for your go too car play, lighting and other car extras . They are the best

Great Screen, Excellent Customer Service.

I recently purchased a 350z android screen from
Vehicle Multimedia Systems and I'm happy with my purchase! Some pros and cons.

PROS:

1. Fast Delivery:
Compared with other competitors (Such as Nifty City or AliExpress), my unit arrived much faster than others were able to dispatch. I received my screen just under a week after purchase, having read the other stores listed above were making people wait 3+ months.

2. Excellent customer support:
I chose not to go for the engineer installation, as i felt I would be capable of doing the install myself, however during the process I did run into some issues with the wiring, however they were all too happy to help, the unit itself doesn't come with instructions, but when you contact them, the advice is clear, and they leave no stone unturned to get your device working, very impressed.

3. The device itself is really good, I was half expecting it to be laggy after reading reviews from competitors, however I was really happy with the unit, its fast, smooth and really modernises the car.

4. UK Based -
Makes liaising with the seller so much easier than rivals.

CONS:

1. More expensive than others:
The unit I purchased with Apple Carplay, was £1k. Significantly more than AliExpress or Nifty City for example. However the pros of the outweighed the cons for me.

2. Compatibility:
Just double check when making a purchase they have all the information available to send you the correct product, my unit was meant for a slightly earlier model 350z, however this wasn't a problem in my eyes and a little modification to the climate control dash sorted the fitment.

Overall I'm really happy, my experience wasn't a perfect one, however I still feel these guys are a really solid option to go to if your wanting a newer looking head unit.

Disappointing follow up support

Sold me a multimedia system for my bmw. Waited a couple of weeks for the installer to get in touch and after a few cancellations by the installer we got it in. Initially the support online was good but then it completely dried up. Emails not responded to. They kind of just leave you to work it out for yourself with a next to useless user guide. These guys clearly know their product but more support needs to be given to assist in what the product can and cant do. Disappointing.
