Great service from first enquiry to purchase.
Susan was great at understanding exactly what we wanted from our ‘new’ car.
Test drive length and variety of roads was instrumental in enabling us to make informed purchase decision. Not just round the block test drive as in other partnerships.
All staff I spoke to regarding a change of time for our collection were polite, understanding and a pleasure to deal with.
Only regret is that we had a 2 hour drive to Chesterfield and so are unlikely to use Chesterfield Škoda again but will definitely recommend partnership and in particular Susan

Avoid this dealership they have no care for customers after they have sold you a car! This has been the WORST customer service experience I have ever had. My car completely cut out at 50mph with my children in the back, it was 1 month out of warranty, 39,000 miles and I had to go back and forth battling the seriousness of what had happened to get it recovered. It went into dealership at start of February. I went to the dealership on 5th March having been told it was ready to collect. I arrived spent an hour and half in there because they hadn't washed it. I went out to it and it was still filthy as pictured, had scratches on it and had an engine light on which said "DRIVE WITH CAUTION" "EMERGENCY BRAKING NOT AVAILABLE". I could not believe that they told me my car was fixed and I got in the car which is the main transport for my kids and it said drive with caution and the brake assistance did not work! I left the dealership without my car again having travelled 45 minutes to collect it. I finally got the car back on 18th March after very little update or communication. I received a call from landrover customer relations to apologise for my experience and say that I would be offered an extended warranty of 1 year as a gesture of goodwill. On 29th March the engine management light came on so again the car had to go in to dealership which happened on 2nd April. I heard absolutely nothing from them. On wednesday 15th April I had a text to say my car was booked in on 28th April, but no communication which wasn't new I thought they were just onto it. Then this morning 17th April I receive an email with a £4000 quote for repair on the car and the Parts Manager asking me to do his job for him, and advise on what warranty I had so he could "see what level of cover it would provide"
This service is a disgrace. I have been without my car most of the year, the dealership does not communicate or care about customers. I was offered a gesture of goodwill of warranty and then sent an email quoting me £4000 for a repair on a car that should not have a fault in the first place! I have a finance agreement in place, under the consumer rights act cars should be durable, after 3 years and 39,000 mile my car has failed 3 times now. Once the car is sold you may as well forget about customer service because they don't provide any service at all. For a premium brand this dealership should be embarassed for how they have treated me as a customer. Go somewhere else if you want to be looked after.

Super clear communication about vehicle. Once car agreed upon a simple discussion to close the transaction. After terms agreed sales person who handled the car handover was first class and handled all the paperwork and process very efficiently. Anthony and Isla deserve a special mention as both were excellent.

We weren’t even looking for a new car tbh 😅 however we did end up looking and we were helped by David Wood, he was very patient with us as we looked through different options. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful during our visits, from branch Manager to the ladies/ gents on reception, they couldn’t do enough.
We found a car and spent way more than we intended to, money to us has been earned over many years not easy to part with, however we are delighted with our choice. David showed great patience as we waited for the car to be delivered from down South, we had lots of questions, and he kept us up to date each day. On arrival to pick up the presentation was lovely, we were welcomed in, a separate area was prepared where the car was stored for viewing. The car was all prepped, and looking stunning, a plaque with my partners name on it was there, and a beautiful box of fresh flowers for her, avery nice touch - nothing has been too much and we definitely pushed that envelope! So thank you for making this a truly special occasion for us, and having bought Landrovers for years we can say this is the Landrover experience we remember, great service and being made to feel very special, and to leave with a beautiful car which is such a treat
Many thanks
Paul and Sue

I bought my Range Rover Evoque in March 2024 from Vertu Land Rover Chesterfield. I was a very smug Land Rover owner, having previously owned three — all fantastic cars. Sadly, this time I rolled the dice and bought a lemon. A very expensive, very heavy paperweight.
On the day of collection, I was asked to re-sign a paper contract, despite having signed electronically the weekend before. “We just need your signature here, Mrs S.” I trusted the salesperson and signed after checking the monthly figure. What I later discovered was that it was a different contract. I had made a payment on my part-ex vehicle, yet the dealership contribution had been reduced without my knowledge. When I challenged this, I was told nothing had changed — but strangely, no one could produce the original electronic contract. A sea of red flags.
Then came the key situation. I was told there was only one key but the other would “arrive within a week.” In reality, it didn’t exist and had to be ordered on back order. I waited around 12–13 weeks.
The grand reveal was equally disappointing. Instead of a showroom handover, I was taken to a side entrance near the repair bays because it was a “used approved” vehicle. The car was covered in stone chips, the parcel shelf was broken, there was rust internally, and water trapped inside the lights. I said I didn’t feel like driving it away. I should have trusted my instincts and walked away — but I didn’t. I was reassured it would all be sorted.
Within days, I noticed a knocking noise going over a tiny dropped curb — in a 4x4. The spoiler rattled when closing the boot. The car went back in to address paint, the parcel shelf, headrest, key and other issues. I was told it would be about a week.
It was 12 weeks.
Yes, I had a courtesy car — but that is not the same as your own vehicle. Communication was poor and often condescending. Eventually, mid-June, I was told to collect it — still without the key.
The bonnet respray was shocking. The stone chips looked like they’d been filled with black nail polish, and white wax residue sat in every dent. After quoting Land Rover’s own paint standards (visible defects within 2 metres should be rectified), they agreed to respray it properly. Back to another courtesy car.
By the end of June, after escalating to management, I was offered an extended warranty and £500 as a goodwill gesture for the finance “mishap.”
Then autumn arrived. Heated seats didn’t work. The display intermittently failed. I waited a month for diagnosis — only to be told parts would need ordering. Meanwhile, the “health check” advised it needed two litres of oil. Odd, considering it had sat in their workshop for months.
January came, the seat was fixed — and shortly after, the orange service light appeared. A sensor fault meant it wouldn’t pass its MOT. It was repaired — and yes, another two litres of oil were added. Four litres in under four months.
In August, it worsened. Loss of power. Grinding noises. Warning lights. Roadside assistance advised taking it in. My selling dealer refused recovery there so it went to another Land Rover dealership on a low loader.
The next day: “We need authorisation to add oil.” Six litres since November. I’m no mechanic, but that doesn’t sound normal. I was assured there were no leaks and it wasn’t burning oil. Yet by December it was back to minimum. A technical ticket was finally logged, and I was told to check oil weekly. The Evoque doesn’t even have a low-oil warning light.
In January 2026, I returned to discuss everything — only to be told the vehicle did not have a full service history. There was a 30,000-mile gap. Had I known that, I would never have purchased it.
Now, February again, oil at minimum. More top-ups. Excessive oil consumption confirmed. And when I try to call to discuss the ever-growing list of issues? No returned calls.
Owning this Evoque has been like rowing a wooden boat through a storm — except the boat wouldn’t require gallons of oil to survive.
If you’re going to roll the dice on a Land Rover, my advice would be: don’t.
And if Vertu Land Rover Chesterfield happen to read this — perhaps the Used Cars Sales Manager could finally return my call.
EDIT
My review is factual. Everything in there is the truth. The initial concerns were raised on the day of purchase yet Vertu fail to acknowledge that the car is a lemon. I will now be contacting LandRover, the Car Ombundsman, Vertu head office and the tv Show Rip Off Britain.
UPDATE 2: phone call received from Paul. The car is hopefully being looked at by Vertu this week. I will post a further update.
UPDATE 3: The car is booked in on Thursday to be looked at
