I've waited a couple of weeks after my rental as I didn't want to get bitten on the nose writing a positive review then receiving a bill afterwards like I've read has happened to others.

I must say my experience with Viaggiare Rent at Bergamo Airport has been a positive one. I booked my car thorough Discovery Cars and completed the online check in with Viaggiare as prompted by Discovery Cars. I followed all the rules regarding credit card / documentation so didn't have any unexpected issues there. The deposit was 500€ which again was what I expected.
I was not pestered or pressured into purchasing any additional cover and I was also given a choice of vehicles, either a Fiat Panda or a Mahindra.

The vehicle itself was new with only 9000km on the clock. There was however, more damage to the vehicle on collection than was documented on the handover sheet. I conducted in-depth videos and photos before driving away with the car and sent these to the WhatsApp number provided. I did not receive any response from Viaggiare.

Drop off was easy enough, the office was closed so the keys were dropped through the letterbox as instructed.

My deposit was cleared within 3 days of returning to the UK.

Overall a positive experience and would use again.

Such an easy experience, collection was a breeze, drop off easy, the car was a great new and clean car. Very happy with overall experience.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

as per most of the other 1* ratings- this company is a scam.

We returned our vehicle to Bergamo Milan Airport to have it inspected by a member of staff who immediately located two minuscule scratches on the windscreen ( 1mm each, surface marks. Located behind the rear view mirror mount so would not obstruct view of driver. Too minimal to require any repair let alone windscreen replacement)
He located them instantly, we could barely see them when he pointed them out- they were that small. You would not see they were there unless you knew they were there already.

We had no incident that could have caused damage but can’t prove it was there before.

This is a total set-up scam that they were well practiced at.

We tried to object to the claim that we’d caused the damage to be reminded that they had our £900 deposit. They helpfully advised us to pay up for damage as we could not prove we hadn’t done it and to then claim back through the insurance. We were backed into a corner where we had to pay €870.01.

Total scam. Fortunately, we used an independent insurer when we booked this not the Viaggiare one they offer on vehicle collection (from other reviews- their ins is a scam too!) so hopefully we will get our money back.

Ironically, the damage that we pointed out on collecting the car was barely even acknowledged by the staff. Within 20 miles of leaving the airport after collection the car had an SOS warning come up. After an hour of trying to speak with someone at Bergamo Milan office we were told to just ignore it and the car had a slow puncture. So they don’t take that much pride in their fleet.

Please don’t ignore the negative reviews.

We received great service from Viaggiare office at Bergamo Airport. The pickup process was very quick, the car was new, we received a better car than we have reserved and at a lower cost, the delivery was very quick as well.
We would definitely recommend Viaggiare.

Unacceptable Driving Experience
The gearbox operated poorly, with gears grinding and hesitant shifts throughout the drive.

The vehicle exhibited severely unbalanced handling; steering felt vague and unstable, rendering the ride uncomfortable and unsafe.

Persistent unusual noises were present while driving, suggesting possible mechanical faults or poor maintenance.

Safety Concerns & Model Reputation

This model has been discontinued in India because it failed to meet contemporary crash and safety standards . That alone raises concerns about its continued rental without clear disclosure.

The car is commonly criticized online for suspension deficiencies, noisy cabin, poor mileage, and unreliable performance after initial months of use....

Good service

Great time and driving.

Due to our plane leaving the UK an hour late, passport control at Bergamo airport being ridiculously slow and the sales person at the Viaggiare desk being stupidly slow with the one single client in front of us, (30 minutes waiting), we were then told that our car hire was cancelled due to us being 2 hours late and had to pay a "late fee" of 50 euros each. We had paid for the car at the point of booking in the UK and they had our flight details on the booking so could have checked. After arguing our case, the fee was reduced to 25 euros each but not waivered.
Once given our car keys, we were told to get on a bus to a car park, we had been led to believe the car was actually in the terminal, not 10 minutes drive away.
The bus was dangerously hot and overcrowded with nowhere to put luggage, one guy got so angry about there being no room and threatened my son, it was very upsetting.
Getting off the bus, we had no idea where the car was, we had not been given any instructions at all and spent 30 minutes wandering around until we phoned the supplier. We were then directed to an actual car hire booth at the opposite end of the car park. There was no baby seat in the car which we had paid for, and there was rubbish left by the previous customer. This was by far the worst car hire I have ever experienced and I regularly hire cars in many countries.

No issues except the car had a flat tyre on pickup. They exchanged for another vehicle right away so I could get away immediately. They did not push me for expensive insurance or try to claim damage deposit on my return. Staff quite pleasant

Staff member at car pick up was great, but initial car allocated was very poor, missing bumper section, much damage and flat tyre.

Its was one of best car rent in my life. Tooooo easy guys. Bravo

Very friend, helpful and funny staff at the desk made the whole experience of car hire so much better, they were concerned about my insurance policy without trying to sell me extra insurance, they just wanted to make sure I was legal on the road before they handed the keys over. Excellent service.
