Booking the rental online was quick and easy – no issues there.
However, one downside was that the credit card had to be in the name of the driver/renter. If this was mentioned on the online portal, it certainly wasn’t obvious. Changing the name on-site cost us a €30 penalty, which was quite frustrating.

Apart from that, the staff (a girl named Noemi) was very friendly and helpful, and the car itself drove very well.

One suggestion for improvement:
The car emitted constant alert sounds whenever the GPS registered a new speed limit – and also when the car was going slightly above or below that limit. This meant we were hearing 5 to 10 beeps per minute during the entire drive. It was extremely annoying, and we couldn’t find any way to disable it in the vehicle settings. Please consider changing this feature.

Picked up a car at Catania Airport. Everything worked out well, overall happy with the service. I couldn't finalize the web check-in even if i tried for half an hour, but worked it out at the office.

The best rental company that we rented car from. We got a free upgrade and the car was brand new. Price was very good comparing to other car rentals. There was a zero excess for theft and damage. Thank you!

We rented a car from another rental company but they were closed when we arrived to pick it up. Luckily Noemi from Viaggiare was able to rent us a last minute car with a very reasonable price. Thank you for the great service and good car, would definitely recommend!

Really good car and services. Except the price of the full insurance too expensive at your place. We take one on internet site. So otherwise we will take on at your place.

Fast, best value for money!

This is the first time in my life that I have left a negative review.
The company charged me an expensive full cleaning fee because only a part (left back surface) of the car’s exterior was dirty, bird popp. Even though I had full insurance, I was careful to take good care of the car during the rental period, just like my own vehicle. However, bird droppings were beyond my control, and there was no car wash on the way to the airport. I didn’t want to clean it with paper and water because that could scratch the car, but looking back, in that case, I wouldn’t have been charged...
I had a wonderful time in Sicily, but a very disappointing experience with this company.
You can be sure that they will look for ways to take extra money from you

Company has nice cars. I got a Ford Puma, automatic, at a great rate.
The only issue is signage. To find the company is not easy. Use the first entrance and then find the company office first on the left

Really great service (not pushy) and no surprise fees after returning the vehicle. The van was in OK condition -- lots of dents/dings/scratches -- which meant we didn't have to worry too much about its condition during our trip. Everything was perfect!

I booked my car hire with Viaggiare at Catania airport through the Discovery Cars aggregator at the end of October 2024. I was a little apprehensive because I had read reviews of car hire companies in Sicily, many of which were discouraging. I decided to go with Viaggiare because they had quite positive reviews on Trust Pilot. Booking through Discovery Cars was fine, I received detailed instructions from them. I had a bit of trouble finding the Viaggiare office outside the Catania airport, but with the help of Google maps I eventually found it, it is located 5 minutes walk from the arrival terminal. The communication in the office was pleasant, I got a different car to the one I ordered, but it was in the same size category and the same price, so ok. They didn't try to push other products on me. Everything went well according to clear rules and my order. The 700 EUR deposit was refunded to my credit card 2 days after the car was delivered.

Reasonable prices, nice staff, easy access from the airport, car was in excellent condition. I've rented from this company before and had the same experience.

Disappointing. Office NOT in Terminal but 400m away in car park
Abrupt and very slow staff. Car dirty and washer bottle empty.
Car not as booked but much bigger and so harder to park in small Sicilian towns.
We had booked and paid for additional insurance but the hire desk insisted that was with a third party and so we had to have theirs as well. €900 "'deposit" taken which was not expected.
On way back to airport a warning light came on dashboard that Traction control and Antilock braces not working. Office closed at airport despite opening hours saying they were open. Showed the guy who was emptying the key drop point the photo of the dashboard which he waved away as "it's nothing".
There are loads of car hire companies to choose from. I really can't recommend this company.
