Fast and easy booking, pick up and return, super friendly service

Got charged euro 25 at Pescara airport as the car needed a small cleaning inside. Wasn’t told beforehand that car would need to be as clean as collected otherwise would have done so before returning. You sign on a mobile phone for car with no confirming email.
Treated very poorly

I hired a car from Viaggiare at Pescara airport for 8 days and was very happy with the outcome. The collection was quick and easy, and the agent in the office didn't waste time trying to sell me things I didn't need as many car hire companies do. The car itself was the size I ordered and was nearly new and in good condition.
I did have a few minor issues which is why I haven't given 5 stars. The car was dirty on the outside (car wash wasn't working apparently). As an older customer I wasn't that comfortable with having to sort out the rental agreement electronically, rather than signing a piece of paper, however the man in the office was very helpful and sorted it out for me. I also felt the return process was a bit haphazard, as there was no office in the car park.
All of these are just minor quibbles and overall I was very satisfied and would definitely use again.

Avoid these crooks! Picked car paid 800 euro advance for damages and then they tell you a clause stating no money back for over 30 days! Shocking!

I definitely dont recommend!! Took my money when I made a reservation by discover cars, than when we arrived Viaggiare forced me to buy an insurance and finally instead 100 euro I have paid 300 euro for all this service! Lady in office hurry us that she have next clients so we have to leave! Unnacceptable!

I had to pick a car up at Pescara Airport on may 3rd. The car was ordered through an agency, DoYouItaly, and the reservation went quite smooth.

When i arrive at the airport, the lady at the counter refused to give me the car, because "my credit card was not approved". She could, however, get me a car, if I would pay an additional 120 euro.

I asked her why she couldn't approve my card, but was given no answear. I then checked with the other car rental companies at Pescara Airport, and asked if they would have any problem using my credit card. None of them saw any issue in my credit card. I then asked DoYouItaly, if they had any issues with my card, when i made the reservation, and they too didnt understand why Viaggiare wouldn't approve my card.

When i confronted the employee at the airport with the new information, she got pissed at me and refused to fulfill the reservation, that I had already payed for.

So now I was left with no car at the airport, and I had already payed it. Costumer service was non existing and i called the head quarters several times, but they just hang up the phone, once they hear that you're a tourist.

I have made a claim through DoYouItaly for a full refund. I have not heard anything yet.

This has overall been a very bad experience, and I will not recommend Viaggiare to anyone.

I rent cars all over Europe on a weekly basis to run my business. In 22 years of being in business I must of rented from every car hire company. This is my first time using this company and I can assure you my last. They are absolute cowboys. Trying to rip the general public off! When I returned the car, there was numerous holiday makers arguing with the staff over very small minute marks, that you would class as fair wear and tear. They even charge you €25 to wash the car! Be aware, DO NOT HIRE FROM THESE THIEVES!!!!!

Waited for 1,5 hours to finally get another car (not the same category) than reserved.

Tank wasn't full. Car was dirty.

When I dropped it off at the end of rental, the counter was closed (although it should have been open as it was during their office hours), afterwards they clamed that the car has been damaged (covered by pictures). Must have happened on their parking after drop off! But well, there was no one to reception the car ... so bad for me, I have to pay.

Answer to Viaggiare:
You had your chance to do it right when handling the claim. Easy for a company to do as you did (horrible) and after pretend that it‘s the client who tries to harm. Just ads to showing how bad you really are.

Very bad rent! They have no existing customer service, and they robbed my account for unjustified 34€. And don't answer to emails right now...

I hired a car at Pescara Airport on 20th June for 4 weeks. They were aware of my flight number and arrival time however when I arrived the office was closed and nobody was there to handover the car. I called Antonio several times and it was very stressful and difficult as he speaks little English and I speak little Italian. Eventually I asked the man at Locauto Car Hire to help me with the phone call, he was great! He said Antonio would be there in 10 minutes and I should wait. I waited 40 minutes, feeling extremely anxious. Eventually Antonio arrived and then it took 45 minutes to actually book the car out to me. He was extremely slow and it seemed as if he didn't really know what he was doing. I arrived at the office at 1.45pm and finally drove out of the car park at 3.20pm. This took far too long!
I drove the car away but within a few miles the red petrol light came on to indicate low fuel. The agreement was 'full to full'. This caused me huge stress and anxiety as I had to find petrol when on the busy Autostrada whilst driving a strange car in a different country.
The whole experience left me feeling very anxious and hence the review.
I cannot see myself using Viaggiare again in the future, and as I have a home in Italy then that is a shame, because I hire cars a few times each year. I hope this experience does not happen to anyone else in future.

To clarify, my booking had not been cancelled by me and I was in possession of my printed voucher ready for collection, clearly an error internally which caused a sole lady traveller much stress.
