This is a pretty good software, it gets the job done and does it pretty well. I have had some issues with it but nothing that would make me not want to use it. It's good for beginners, and it's good for me.

It's plain bad, just a waist of time

Definitely the next step from movie maker and iMovie. I LOVE this video to death and even when I can afford it I won't switch to Adobe Premiere or any other software. Granted it is an unorthodox software but all the tutorials are on all on YouTube and they're made by VSDC THEMSELVES! WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST FREE EDITOR AVAILABLE because it doesn't put a watermark or limit the time limit of your video. It doesn't restrict essential editing tools either and only leaves the stuff necessary for the Pros in the full version. EVERYONE should use this. They are really generous with the features and support for the software!

Here we go again. 1 short video recorded on a bridge camera. 1 small section removed. Cannot export in usable format as "you have used hardware acceleration" (I have no idea what that means) & need to buy the PRO version. I downloaded VSDC FREE video editor to do this simple video edit & am absolutely not encouraged to buy it because of this catch 22 - if it had worked, that might well have been different.

It's a very good piece of software and it's also very affordable!

Maybe doesn't do as much as the big brands, but you can get a nice, legal piece of software that you can use for creating youtube videos!

I edit videos from time to time, so VSDC is the best option for me, as it doesn't add a watermark and that's more important - no trials! Free features such as Instagram filters, gradient, plenty of transitions go above and beyond :) Tutorials on their YouTube channel are really helpful and inspire to create awesome videos :)

Being able to cut and redact a video is so easy! Supports video from my GoPro without probs. Maybe a bit tricky for a newbie, but video tutorials are comprehensive even for dummies. I will spread the word. I work for the county prosecutors office and we redact video all the time.

I've been using VSDC for a couple of months already. It's the only non-linear video editor that doesn't constantly freeze my old and I-should-get-a-more-powerful-one PC. I'm still on Windows 7 with memory running low, and feel like VSDC is the only free option where I can perform advanced tricks like split screen and Chroma Key.

I just discovered your software and I had no installation problems. I am already blown away by what you can do with it, the number of clear video tutorials on YouTube and the simpler UI compared to the rest of the free video editors I had seen so far. Yes, I mean the "fully professional-top-notch" ones such as Lightworks, Blender, HitFilm, DaVinci... you name it. They are great but almost any editing feels like you have to be a guru to achieve it. And, obviously, as an amateur, I was not even considering the other one that keeps bleeding you bank account on a monthly base.
Thank you for your product which already allows you quite a few tricks in video editing!

Don't buy this software, because you don't get a refund if it doens't work on your pc or laptop; I sent several messages to the support team but they didn't solve my problem and they didn't provide a refund;

According to their terms of use, section 3, the refund is provided in the following cases:

- Incidental purchase of the Product’s license twice. In this case one payment shall be refunded

- The Product has serious technical problems, and no solution has been found within 30 days.”

As you see, the second line is what I've experienced; they should give me a full refund within 30 days but they didn't, in fact, they didn't reply to any of my mails after this message with their terms of use. I will take legal action and make a complaint to the local police office!

I don't suggest you to buy this software because the after sales is crap!

Seriously, if you want to avoid a headache then steer clear of this. Installing the free version was simple but like all free versions they dangle you the carrot and then push you to upgrade to access the full program.

However, upgrading is anything but straightforward. I purchased it on a Friday and instead of getting an immediate download I have to wait for them to send an email with their acceptance and download instructions. Why?

With the Activation key I now go to the simple add in registration box and put in the registration key. It doesn't work. I get file activation error. I download again, uninstall, download etc and it does not work.

Finally support get back to my email sent over the weekend at 14:04 pm on Monday with instructions to turn off my firewall, re-install as administrator and follow their link for the new download. The link they sent returns a 404 Error.

Pretty frustrated now and sticking with this re-install, with the firewall off I manage to get Activation and my new screen now shows Pro version installed. I close it down and re open it only to find it has reverted to the free version and the activation code does not work again.

Support now ask me to go through the process of re-installation again at 15:29 and I reply explaining that their activation does not work. Suffice to say I get no further reply that day. So 4 days after purchase here I am with no VSDC up and running.

VSDC need to smarten up their act if they want to sell this software. Life is too short for lousy systems and poor support. People move on. With this software you will lose the will to live.

I have moved on and bought splashed out on a well known brand name. It installed immediately and I was up and running in no time. It is worth spending the extra money rather than waste time messing around with software like this.
