Village Gym Swindon

Village Gym Swindon
Disgusting and dirty poole and sauna floors. Loads of signs saying “ wet floor” as if cleaning but frankly nobody cleans the floors. Changing rooms are clean however! Rude staff who frankly are clueless and never get booked onto classes. All instructors are good except Sunday Aqua with a dance instructor not an Aqua so pointless really. Clean your facilities. I’ve cancelled and won’t be going back. Nuffield is so much better

DO NOT join this gym

DO NOT join this gym! They will tell you they will cancel your membership then keep charging you so when you cancel the direct debit they then threaten to take you to court. Multiple people have had the same problem. I went into the gym to speak to people multiple times and rang them multiple times they keep saying they will sort it and get back to me then nobody ever rings me back or emails me back. SCAMMERS

Bracknell gym is a complete mess

Bracknell gym is a complete mess. The pool area is not maintained and the staff on duty ignore the rules but rather socialise. When you address a concern with staff member you are told by the staff member to "be an adult " and sort it out yourself. When you try cancel the your contract you simply told we can't help we are only admin. There are shower leaks in the change room and the pool area shower .

gym and staff are great, membership isnt

The Bournemouth gym I can't fault or the staff, gym full of decent equipment and staff are friendly and helpful, my issue is not being able to bring the family swimming, partly my fault for not paying more attention while signing up, but to take my partner swimming I can't pay for a swim only so I would have to get a day pass for £19 just so I could bring her swimming, instead all 4 of us went to the littledown center for a swim that cost £17.80 for all 4 of us. I don't think the £58 a month membership is worth it at all, as soon as my membership is up I will be leaving for another gym that lets people come for a swim for an acceptable price. Also im still waiting for a £19 refund !

Please don't sign up for any membership…

Please don't sign up for any membership of this gym is like making a deal with the devil specially when it comes to cancelation no body replies back and then you get letters and emails and calls pretty much telling you that you owe more money that you should and I don't understand this memberships your supposed to pay if you're using the facilites... And for the cancellation you have to wait 3 months to be approved and on that time you already owe 3 months! I just can't believe how they just want to take your money! Be careful with this gym but I can see I'm not the only one that thinks the same way they have really bad reviews!

If you want to push yourself get PT

Been a member of the gym for years. The buildings and facilities are not great (showers have long needed knocking down and rebuilding) but the team do make it a 5 star place.

Great set of classes which are easy to book on the app

After doing his classes I took out some PT with Mike Wheelan in Farnborough and would recommend him for anyone who wants to see results down the gym. He has taught me proper form, different ways to push different parts of your muscles and how to really push yourself. The results I have seen have been huge which makes it worth coming back and you get so much more from the gym!

I'm registered disabled and thought…

I'm registered disabled and thought when I signed up at village gym bristol if be able to use the service. After coming a couple of times found it too much and tried to cancel my contract. No body to talk too just an email address. After sending my email stating I wanted to cancel I was told via email I was tied into a twelve month contract despite believing I singed into a 3 month release clause. Visited the gym and the sales advisor pretty much called me liar. Really shocking customer service

Gym staff can be very rude in the gym , not counter staff they are polite ,I’ve tried contacting them 3 or 4 times without response , they are trying to be like David Lyods hiking the price up but they don’t deliver,

Be Careful !

When they want to sell memberships , they will adopt all the trios of the trade .. but once you are member , it’s a different experience .. Rude, untrained staff who has no clues and my wife were promised a £20 vouchers each almost six months back , and follow ups with them had resulted in unprofessional replies
Last was 2 months back and they said it will be mailed to you and it is due to a technical glitch .
Still nothing
Don’t trust them

This company are terrible

This company are terrible, I cancelled both accounts on a direct debit due to village making mistakes with the names in the contract and cancelled the direct debit as this was no longer legally binding. HOWEVER, they have decided themselves that them making the mistakes doesn’t mean they’ve done anything wrong and are now trying to threatening and harassing us with debt collectors for money we apparently “owe” them when we haven’t stepped foot near the gym since and even though the contract isn’t legally binding … APPALLING

Bournemouth Village Gym

They selectively charge you for a forgotten membership card. It depends who is on the desk and which one of their mates has forgotten their's that will be let through without any charge... for us non-friends you get charged.
Also, whilst calling up to try and cancel a class, because of Flu/Covid they inform you that this will go against you and have a strike on your name for not turning up to a class.. they would rather you come to the class and spread your germs..
honestly, for the price you pay, it's a poor poor gym to belong too..

Terrible Customer Experience

This company makes it incredibly difficult to cancel a membership. I’ve tried multiple times—both in person at the gym and over the phone—and no one takes any real action. The whole process is a complete mess and feels deliberately obstructive.

Also, you have no way to make complaint regarding to the services and the staff

Don't waste your money!

So I have one month left of my membership, however I have just had to have surgery on my wrist so I can't attend for 6 - 8 weeks. Despite ringing and explaining I'm am financially unstable as I'm out of work due to surgery, and that I can't attend on doctors orders, I am being told that I still have to pay for my last months membership! Even if I bring in proof of surgery. Is this a joke? I can't afford it, or attend and this is literally taking what little funds I have left from my sick pay. I'm a singe Mum to 3 children so there is only my income!
They had the audacity to let me 'pay in instalments' over 1 month. That's right 1 month. 1 payday for me. So no payment plan at all!
I looked past the fact that the pool was cold and the Hot Tub, always having a weird layer of foam ontop. Such a shame because the instructors were lovely!
If someone can point me in the right direction to how I can dispute this I will be very greatful!

Faked online reviews and dangerous environment

The Village gym in Warrington is of a low standard on every single level. The facilities are substandard and the building is crumbling and dropping to bits. The studios and exercise areas aren’t fit for purpose, floors are hazardous and slippery in the main exercise studio. The spin room is overcrowded with broken bikes, the air conditioning doesn’t work so people sweat all over each other. The yoga room is noisy as there is noise bleed through from the other areas including the HIIT room. The HIIT room is an old squash court and it stinks, I’m not sure if there is any aircon at all, there are no windows and it’s underground - so no ventilation. The skill mills in this room regularly malfunction and so do the screens demonstrating exercises.
The weights and gym machines in the main gym are inadequate and the gym weights machines are old and often broken.
They have too many members for the amount of space and equipment in the gym.
Conditions overall are dangerous and two hospital admissions have followed recent incidents in supervised classes.
The management approach is to ignore these incidents for years and not resolve the causes of accidents.
Gym managers coerce/bully and otherwise bribe members to give 5 star online reviews and in cases take members phones off them and write their own reviews.
Senior managers are aware of all of these issues but ignore them. They know as a business it will change hands again soon. They are mainly trying to maximize the value for resale by adding rooms to the hotel and increasing gym membership without investing in the gym.

The village gym at walsall the sauna…

The village gym at walsall the sauna and steam room are always out of use this year, even though they have completed maintenance work. They are quick to put the membership price up but the standards have dropped this year. If they don’t improve the services I will be joining another gym.

Appalling Customer Experience

This company makes it impossible to cancel membership and wont take reasonable action over the phone, either at the gym location or centrally. I've tried to raise complaints about being overcharged for child day passes with zero satisfactory action taken. I've subsequently tried multiple times to cancel my membership and found that I dont have and am unable to get credentials to log into any account to cancel. An absolute shambles.

Village gym Cheadle, disability discrimination

Nice underground facilities,
Unfortunately I had to cancel my membership and
LOSE MONEY!
The village gym Cheadle feels like a money grab, once they've got your money do not expect customer service.
And maybe give this place a miss if you have a disability!
I thought I'd paused my membership because of a disability flare up, couldn't attend for over 3 months, then had to phone several times for help.
Nice people refunded 2 months, but NOT 3?
I guess that was because they just could...thanks for the understanding?
