After almost a year we received our 1.200 euro deposit back

In June 2023 we rented a car from SurPrice in Dubrovnik via StressFreeCarRental.com. This company was in the same office as Vintax. We paid SurPrice a deposit of 1.200 euro which they did not return within 30 days after returning the car (they made a payment of 1.200 euro to themselves instead of blocking our credit card for that amount). In the months thereafter we communicated with SurPrice/Vintax and they promised to return the deposit back, but they did not pay back and stopped communicating. In December 2023 we were in Dubrovnik again, but the SurPrice/Vintax office was empty. We understood that a lot of other SurPrice/Vintax customers faced the same issue of SurPrice/Vintax not returning deposits. By involving StressFreeCarRental.com, after a period of almost one year, we finally received our 1.200 euro deposit from SurPrice back last week. We should have involved StressFreeCarRental.com much earlier...

They are thieves! AVOID THIS COMPANY!

They are thieves!! Taking the deposit of 1040 euro's as a payment instead of reserving it. It took months and many emails before we got it back. The sad thing is they did not refund the whole amount, but only 1009 euro's, this means they stole 31 euro's from us. We were so releaved that we got most of the money back, that we did not start a procedure for the remaining amount. I think this is there policy, to make more money. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

Deposit not refunded, stay away from this "company"

I am utterly disappointed by the lack of action and accountability from Vintax (GreenMotion) regarding my deposit refund. Despite their repeated assurances that my case has been escalated to their financial department, it's been over a month since the promised refund date of October 20, 2023, and I'm yet to see any progress.

This prolonged delay, coupled with false reassurances of escalation, reflects a blatant disregard for customer concerns and a lack of integrity in their commitment to resolving issues. As a customer, I fulfilled my obligations by returning the vehicle as agreed upon, yet Vintax (GreenMotion) has failed to fulfill their end of the agreement.

The complete lack of transparency and failure to provide a clear timeline for the refund is unacceptable. I've patiently waited, but this continued delay and the disregard for resolving this matter are extremely frustrating and disappointing.

I sincerely hope this review sheds light on the poor handling of customer issues and prompts Vintax (GreenMotion) to take immediate and genuine steps to rectify this situation.

To add onto the bad experience, this all started when we were to get our car. After calling 5-6 times and being reassured that someone would come/call us back, they managed to let us wait for 1,5 hours until.

Warning - Negative Experience with Vintax

I recently had a challenging experience with Vintax that I feel compelled to share. I booked a rental car through Check24, and unfortunately, encountered significant issues with the deposit refund process.

Despite returning the car in the same condition I received it and adhering to all terms of the agreement, Vintax failed to refund my €800 deposit within the promised 30-day period. Numerous attempts to contact them went unanswered, leaving me frustrated and concerned about the legitimacy of their business practices.

I caution potential users to thoroughly research and consider alternative options before choosing Vintax for their car rental needs. My experience suggests a lack of transparency and responsiveness, which could potentially lead to complications for other users.

I'm yet another customer that wasn't…

I'm yet another customer that wasn't refunded for the deposition payed at Split airport, Croatia.
I had to involve DiscoverCars, whom I made the booking through.
Finally, after three months, I got a refund through them (DiscoverCars).
Sad to see that I'm not the only one being maltreated by these scamers.
Avoid them at all cost!

Please avoid this company

Please avoid this company. They advertise themselves on Booking.com as Greenmotion. They are stealing the money from their customers. First of all in the advert they don't mention that they charge deposit. I found it at the time of arrival to Split. I have paid deposit of 1.200,00 EUR that was not returned to me after 30 days as per their contract. Tried to call them but no answer. Emailed them but don't think I will receive any response.

Under no circumstances should you rent a car via Vintax-rent.eu - KEEP YOUR MONEY SAFE - rent from another Company.

Do not rent a car at vintax-rent.ru

We rented a car for our vacation in Croatia. First of the ca was not ready when arrival, second they offered another car in return, smaller then booked, but for the same price.
They withdrawed 1.000,00 euro from our card in deposit. We rented in july, and we haven´t got our deposit back yet. We have contacted them severel times.
Under no circumstances should you rent a car via Vintax-rent.eu - Its a total scam.

To avoid at all cost !!!!

Terrible experience with Vintax ! Unpleasent vendor, almost forcing to buy additional inssurance. 1000 euro Warranty was withdraw from bank account ! Car rented in may, refund warranty was transfered back in october after contacting Vintax/Abbycar/Discovercars every 2 days ! To avoid at all cost !!!!

We have also been scammed by Vintax

You are probably reading this review because like us, you are a victim of the Vintax Car hire scam.

The 1st step you need to take is to immediately submit a chargeback request with your bank as there is a 90 day limit to when your bank can request this money back through Visa.

Then advise your bank to notify their fraud team of this scam so they can commence their investigation.

The bank Vintax use in Croatia is Erste Club. While ERSTE Club advise they can't do anything unless you are also a customer of ERSTE Club, if enough people email/call them to let them know they have also been a victim of this scam then hopefully they will eventually do something.

We have also notified the Banking regulator if this scam.

Our experience:
We rented a car from Vintax via Discover Cars.
When we collected the car instead of processing our deposit as a "pre-authorisation" (like every other car hire company do), Vintax processed our transaction as a "transaction".
When I queried why it had been processed as a transaction & not preauthorisation I was assured our deposit would be returned within 7 days after we returned the car with no damage.

We returned the car with no damage, we REQUESTED a copy of the form to show that we returned the car with no damage. They don't automatically give this form (like every other hire car company do). We were again advised our deposit would be returned within 7 days.

After 7 days no deposit was returned & so I called Vintax who referred me to terms I had signed - saying deposit would be returned after 30 days.

On day 31, I followed up with Vintax by phone & email & Valentina the Vintax representative advised they were having problems with their bank.

I continued to contact & this delay tactic dragged on.

Eventually Valentina advised to get our deposit back we would need to provide our IBAN.

I contacted ERSTE Club who is the bank Vintax use & they advised under NO circumstances should we give Vintax our IBAN & the deposit must be refunded to the original source the deposit was made (visa card).

I also contacted my bank who advised under no circumstances to give our IBAN & they initiated a charge back as the 90 day time limit was fast approaching.

I hope the class action & police investigation other victims have launched is successful.

If you are a victim, I hope you are reading this before 90 days to be able to initiate a charge back.

If you have not yet picked up a car with Vintax I hope the experience of 600+ people who have taken the time to leave reviews across multiple review sites encourage you not to get sucked into this scam.

Warning! Scam don't book car

Warning! Don't book with this company they deducted the deposit and never refunded! Case will be open against this company. Waiting since 3 month to receive my 800eur back! They don't deserve even 1star!

DO NOT USE

Company doubled the deposit to €2000 when we arrived, leaving us with no option but to pay it. It wasn’t processed as a hold it was processed as a charge, incurring local fees of another €60. Been back since July and still not returned it doesn’t look likely. Like everyone else says do not use under any circumstances!!!!

They also for me refused to return deposit in Split airport. The same old trick - found little dent on windshield and said that car is not possible to use because windshield may crack and it's illegal to drive like that. So you have to pay for damage and business loss for 15 days. So that they don't have to return deposit. Terrible scam!!! I reported in local police. I hope that they will do something after all this.

Vintax-rent SCAM!!!

Dear all,

I've been requesting for my refund of 1000 euros since the April 2023.

I'd propose to initiate a criminal prosecution against all the parties involved.

Obviously, this is a scam and i'm worried that we won't see our money regardless what Abby car/ Rentcar/ Vintax-rent are saying.

I have already reached a few law firms in Croatia and they are all happy to bring this case to the court.

Let me know what you all think.

I'd also advice all the future customers to avoid any bookings via this company!!

Vintax is not reachable via any phone…

Vintax is not reachable via any phone number available. No one pick the phone. For me also Eur 1000 has been deducted claiming there are scratches in car.
Even though I have full insurance, now they are not giving a repair invoice.

Its poor service. Don't recommend Vintax for anyone.
