Vintax do not return your 1000 euro deposit. I saw the reviews too late so it has happened to me. The car was returned over 2 months ago. I have messaged, emailed, called, posted on social media, posted on the CEO's LinkedIn, reported it to the local authorities and the bank - still no deposit. Booked via Rentalcars.com who are rude, patronising and not helpful at all. Please avoid as 1000 euro is a shocking amount of money to lose.

** Scammers **We echo all the other people saying they took €1000 credit card deposit and it took more than 9 weeks for us to get it back. It was very stressful. We were even sent incorrect/unsigned bank transfer statements when we threatened to expose them. We had to involve the bank in Croatia and our own credit card company. Avoid at all costs.

Do not use this company. They take the deposit and doesn't want to give it back. My insurance company had to step in to even get the money back. When we dropped off the car they said there was new damages that we have not made and we had to pay 600€ for nothing. They refuse to give any receipts etc. Do not answer on e-mail so I have now called them 10+ times in two weeks.

Flee this car rental company. They are fraudsters and thieves. They never gave my deposit back since june 11. They don’t answer e-mails anymore. Shame on you!
DO NOT USE ABBYCAR/VINTAX
It is obvious that the whole business model is to keep your security deposit, irrespective of whether you damage the car or not. Please see all the other reviews for this. Our experience was slightly different because we did damage the car. Here's what you need to know
1. We hired car in Split, Croatia.
2. Received call 24hrs before collection that they didn't have a car for us - we booked a 9 seater, so making alternate arrangements was impossible. After many phone calls -and Valentina always saying give me 1 hr - they managed to find a car for us. I suspect it wasn't Valentina who made this happen.
3. when you collect the car, they actually take the security deposit/excess amount from your card - not a pre-authorisation, a real payment. Your money is gone - 1000EUR in our case. DO NOT USE CHIP AND PIN FOR THIS TRANSACTION IF YOU DECIDE TO STILL TAKE THE CAR, USE CONTACTLESS. Otherwise getting your credit card company to charge back is harder
4. They will try and get you to sign a statement that waives your right to request any type of charge back from your credit card company. DO NOT SIGN THIS. Combining this and the excess payment taken from card, I knew these guys would be less than straight
5. Unfortunately we did scrape the car, no argument. However, they just make up the damage cost - and magically it is your excess + 100 EUR. ALWAYS HAVE EXCESS COVER WITH A THIRD PARTY INSURANCE FIRM. These insurance companies sometimes ask for proof as to how the damage cost was calculated - either a damage matrix (Vintax don't have one), a repair bill ("this is a business secret between VINTAX and the garage" per Valentina, or a simple email that breaks out the various costs - labour, parts etc. Despite multiple phone calls and Valentina saying, every time, "I understand, I will do it in an hour/a few minutes/...", it never comes. ANY REPUTABLE CAR HIRE COMPANY WOULD BE ABLE TO PROVIDE THIS AS STANDARD BUSINESS PRACTICE
6. Looking at the other reviews, it would seem that even if you don't damage the car, they keep your deposit. Valentina seems to feature quite heavily in this again
So, do yourself a favour and do not use this company, unless you are happy to give up your security deposit

If affected complain to your card company and.ask them to ban Vintax from accepting that card and freeze any money destined to Vintax or Abbycar.

Deposit not refunded at all
We returned our car with no damage and it was signed off at Dubrovnik airport confirming this. I subsequently have contacted Vintax many times, sending copies of the Deposit Receipt and requesting a refund. I have had no success and now I have sent another email which has bounced back saying the recipient's email box is full. Outrageous, unprofessional and tantamount to theft. What else could it be called!!

i was charged for Eur1,800 and yet to be refunded since 30th of May 2023. After I have sent out 40 emails to Vintax and I got no refund from them until now. Terrible!
Car Rental at Split Airport
Car Rental at Split Airport. Abbycar was Contractor, local station Vintax. Car had ~ 140k mileage.
Deposit 1000 Eur was not blocked but charged on credit card. Several phone calls unsuccessful. Our agency billiger-mietwagen.de was not supportive at all.
I luckily finally got the money back via the credit card organisation.
Unauthorized charges to credit card
Instead of pre-authorizing my credit card for insurance purposes, they actually charged it in amount of 1,000 EUR. Upon return of the car, they said that the money would be returned 30 days from the end of the rental period. 30 days passed, interest on my credit card accrued, but money was not repaid. Had to call them again, only to be told to provide IBAN bank details so they can return the deposit. I get to pay the additional charges on the card. Never had this happen with another rental agency.

Euro 1,000 taken as a transaction (not a block) on my credit card 16 june 2023 at Pula Airport by ABBY cars, car returned 23 june 2023. Still not returned 11 august 2023 despite many emails and promises etc
