The car itself was great and I used it all over Croatia. I didn't get the extra insurance for the boat or to drive across borders, but those options are available.
When we arrived there was an hour-long wait outside the airport for the attendant to arrive - the office is in a booth outside on the car park, if you need to know. The price was very affordable.
The issue however came from the damage deposit.
As I'm sure we all know, this is a necessary thing when renting a car. I gave my credit card and expected to have a "hold" on my credit card, as is standard whenever I have rented in the past. However, the damage deposit was charged - as in, it was as if I PAID 1000 Euro to them. Now we were told, upon the return of the car, that it would take 30 days to get my damage deposit back. I waited the 30 days and then called Valentina when it wasn't refunded. There were excuses aplenty, lots of dodging paying it back. and I was persistent, never getting angry, just making a nuisance of myself. Calling ALOT.
I then spent the next three weeks calling Valentina periodically, eventually calling twice a day to ask where my deposit money was. I eventually had to fill in an email form with my account number and IBAN number for my DEBIT account (not my credit card). Meanwhile, I had incurred interest fees on my credit card.
The money did eventually come back after 50 days and I have it in my account now, but not without an awful lot of phone calls, emails, admin and lots of stress. If, like me, you can't afford to incur interest on your credit card and want to not be racked with stress (as i'm sure we all have enough stress at the moment), then think VERY CAREFULLY about hiring with Vintax.
It is an affordable option and the car was a very nice car and worked. However, if you want to save yourself the time and admin and headaches after enjoying a holiday, I'd suggest paying a bit more and going with Hertz.
Terrible company
Terrible company, they have charged me 1000 euro deposit, which was taken not freezed from my credit card.After nearly two months later money is still not transffered back into my account. Support team is a joke- they are not responding for e-mails, not answering their phones. And even if you are Lucky enough to speak woth them l, they are lying you striaght into your face. They are even making up bank transfer confirmation proving that money was transffered but its not. Avoid them if possible.

Rather than locking the €1000 deposit (as normally happens literally every single time I've rented a card elsewhere) they took the money out of my account - I phoned to enquire about this when I noticed it had not been returned to my account and the women on the phone was HORRIFICLY rude - I told her I would be taking this up with the fraud department of my bank and she pretty much laughed at me.
I did raise this through the fraud department of my bank who are now investigating.
DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!

we have booked a vehicle with Vintax Dubrovnik via CARJET from 27/06 to 4/07.
We have paid CARJET 18.53€ and the rest to be paid 123.53€ upon receipt of the car .
Once there VINTAX forced us to take out insurance of €200 and a security deposit of €500.
Usually the guarantee deposit is just a credit card imprint. To our surprise, the €500 were debited the same day, and to date, have not been refunded to us.
To date, no news from CARJET (ticket: 2579957), the same from VINTAX and even less from the 500 €.

I've had to change my review of abbycar (also known locally as vintax) in Pula airport in Croatia because even though the car passed inspection upon return and we were told we'd get our deposit back within 24 hours we still haven't received our deposit back and it's been a month now. We saw they didnt just block the deposit (as car rental companies normally do) but have actually charged the card which I've never seen a car rental do before. we've tried to chase and still no money back, their staff member called valentina is being very slow and unhelpful I think on purpose to delay the refund, very disappointed in this company, will not use again, we're raising dispute with the card company now.

Complete disaster
No, they will not pick you up at the airport.
The address they provide is not the address of their office, but of the airport building.
If you send them an SMS and ask for details about picking up a booked car, they will not answer.
You have to call them 10 times from the airport at your car pick-up time for your call to be answered.
Then they promise to pick you up from the airport in one hour, you just relax and drink coffee.
If you decide to rather walk to their place, then they will send you coordinates of their office in 1 hour.
If you are booked by the "Abbycar rental" office, you will not find such an office. They operate under some other company named "Vintax car rental".
If you ask some residents on the way, they will tell you the right company name to search for ;-)
Finally I found their office after a 45 min walk around 37 celsius at noon.
The office place looks scary. There was a robbed Car-Keys storage machine near their office.
After a 45 min walk to find their office on a hot day, I found out that they have fresh water at the office, but no glasses at all.
Finally, they will not give you any car if you have a Debit-VISA-Credit card regardless of your card being accepted world wide at any car rental office. They explain, this is a Debit card :-) regardless of what your bank says about it. So I did not get any car from them.
After 2 hours they called me from their office in Zagreb (?!?!) to ask me to come back to their office in Kaštel Štafilić because they mean I accidentally took the keys of their office :-)
This company is a complete disaster. This is also confirmed by most of the reviews.
Also their stuff at the office is very unprofessional.

Like other reviewers, Vintax have not returned my deposit. It's now six weeks since I returned the car. Total scam - avoid this company!
