One star is too much for these. We bought a national lottery ticket for their offer to recieve a voucher code, eventually got the code to find it wouldn't work. They say you have to use it in 7 days, yet aftwremailing and calling it took them 10 days to reply and won't offer a new code. Appalling customer service and do not call you back.
Complete rubbish!
Ordered travel tickets at the start of the week, they dispatched them to DPD depot however have not put my house number on it. I've tried to contact them numerous times today but keep getting voice mail and I have sent them messages asking for a call back and had no luck. I go to London tomorrow and now it looks like I have to repurchase these tickets tomorrow on the day. With that they also don't do refunds which means £37 down the drain.
I have attempted to access the National Lottery Days Out promotion multiple times just to try and get organise a family day out in London later this year.
The promotion has been heavily advertised with "£25 off" claims across Visit Britain and the Lotto website. Unfortunately, every single lottery ticket voucher I have tried has resulted in an error at checkout and I am now significantly out of pocket due to money taken erroneously and Lotto tickets wasted. The vouchers are not reusable once an order is falsely taken or an error results at checkout.
After such an extensive promotion, it should not be possible to have such poor IT systems backing up an offer. I strongly suggest that Visit Britain invest heavily decent systems before taking on any more offers of this size. They simply cannot cope with the most simple of problems.
Got my code to then have error on checkout twice!! took money off 2 cards but keeps giving me error. Why have a promotion if its not going to work anyways??? It's so stupid and honestly people should avoid at all costs because it will just take your money and leave you with nothing. Also customer service is terrible too!!! Why have a website which sells E-tickets but not have a live chat or even a phone number to contact?? It makes no sense in this day and age! The only way we can contact them is to send an enquiry which, most likely, will take them 10 years to reply to! Do not purchase anything from here and even with the £25 off it isn't worth the hassle that you have to go through! I'd give it this company minus stars if I could.
Useless! Take your money with zero aftersales/ customer service, impossible to contact them. Due to visit Blackpool Circus tomorrow, doesn't look like that will be happening now, very upset children. DO NOT purchase tickets via Lottery Days Out
I have a code for £25 off for the Lottery day out and when trying to book an activity, the voucher says it’s only valid for UK customers, I live in the Uk and booking on my home iPad. Why wouldn’t I be at home not like we can go too far these days! Seem like a con!
No answer or reply when I have sent them a “contact us” form. Bloody useless!
I ordered 3 tickets for Blackpool zoo, lotto code excepted, proceeded to checkout, error occurred with payment however the payment was taken from my bank so advise you check. I never received my e-tickets or even confirmation of my order I have tried to call, however the phone lines have been switched off, have raised 4 response email requests- no reply response from lotto itself via Facebook is "they're busy and we can't help you" so basically scamming you to buy a lotto ticket for a £25 voucher that doesn't exist. I've asked my bank to do a card charge back. Message to lotto/Camelot: I understand it's a third party website but the is it's YOUR promotion, congratulations you ruined half term for a lot of people!
A poorly prepared campaign resulting in lack of fulfillment and disappointment.
Here's the Visit Britain response:
This campaign is very popular and we are receiving a lots of emails and our response times are longer than usual unfortunately.
There has also been issues with voucher codes who are unfortunately very sensitive and stop working when they are entered in the voucher field even when a payment did not go through. We are working on this issue as well and hope it will be fixed in the close future. Our aim is to re-activate those codes, however we realise it will be too late for your visit.
We are very sorry about this whole situation and that we cannot help to fix the issue now that it is too late.
Lottery disaster
I have tried several times to speak to someone about the failure to receive my ticket as per the current promotion with the Lottery. You cannot speak directly to someone, you have to email/complete a form and they will contact you “within 48 hours”.
I am furious and beginning to doubt I will receive my ticket. Will somebody take up this cause?
I so wish I'd checked here before ordering from them. Shame they're the official supplier for London's visitor Oyster cards - there isn't actually anywhere else to buy them. Hmm.
Like others, impossible to get hold of them. Don't respond to their own support form (three attempts in several days have seen zero response, not even an acknowledgment that they'd had my request). No way to call them - you can "request a call back" but that's via the same form they seem to just ignore.
Even tried going through their Twitter handle - but that's clearly just an automated service since they don't reply on their either.
For the "official supplier" this is absolutely woeful service. Sort it out.
Should have read these reviews before. National lottery vouchers DO NOT WORK - yet they took money out of my pocket - I now need to log a complaint with them formally and dispute the card transaction.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME PLAYING LOTTO VOUCHERS!!!
My order for the Oyster Visitor Card, #000000520, placed on 30 Sep 2021, has not arrived yet. I visited London without it and used my debit card to pay for TfL tickets, which means I have spent twice as much. I have raised this with TfL, as I do not think, based on the reviews below and my own experience, VisitBritain is a great distributor...
Two stars out of five for VisitBritain's reply to my email. I have contacted their customer service who offered a refund if I return the unused card to them after my trip. Unfortunately, my card has not turned up.
Bought London Zoo tickets from them but have not received vouchers . Our trip is tomorrow, I have contacted them over 4 days ago by filling the contacts form and no reply . There isn’t any reply to my voice messages either. It is impossible to speak to someone. They have ruined our family day out , rare to those that work hard to pay the bills and mortgage , errors happen but sell a product and offer not after sales support is appalling. Shame on you Visit Britain !
Don’t use them and book directly via the place you want to visit. I have a problem with a booking and it is impossible to contact them. They don’t reply emails snd the telephone number is a recorded message.
Horrific do not use this company!! No customer service, have even turned off their phone line! Awaiting refunds.
I booked 2 tickets for our local zoo on the 10th October, one using the national lottery vouchers and one at full price but never received the tickets. The money was taken out of my bank account instantly but I never even got the confirmation emails for the bookings. Due to not receiving the tickets I have paid for I had to then buy another at the venue, I am now out of pocket £57. I need to be refunded the tickets that I purchased off your website plus the additional one I then needed to buy at the zoo on the day at £30.
I have phoned twice only to be told the switchboard is off and left voicemails, used the contact form on the visit Britain site three times with no response and even direct messaged on Facebook with no response, I have tried every day multiple times to get this sorted and no response.
Got voucher code from national Lottery days out however when trying to place Oder tried 4 different cards to pay kept getting error message card doesn’t exist in this entity so order would not go through so I thought I would try again today but now says voucher has already been redeemed obviously a big con have ordered tickets at full price elsewhere
Had a £25 off voucher, however there was a constant error message when trying to book an event.
I was given a time by which this would be fixed, but it never was and I did not receive a response to further emails.
Feels like a complete scam offering a £25 off voucher but making it impossible to book! I ended up having to pay full price directly through the activity’s website.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY !!!!!
I am 85 years old living on a pension of only £660 per month. I ordered 2 oyster cards costing me £53 a lot of money from my pension. I have heard nothing, emails are completely ignored. They are just a bunch of thieves. I will be taking County Court action to get my money refunded. DO NOT USE THESE THIEVES
Still waiting for full refunds for cancelled trip. They seem like a bunch of cowboys.
I visited London in June. Bought Oystercards in advance, but they did'nt turn up before we left Denmark. When we came home after a week, I followed the instructions on the webside and returned the Oystercards. Now, two months later, I am still waiting for my refund (900 Danish kroner). Several mails to VisitBritain have resulted in: NOTHING. So, if tou are going to London, don't deal with VisitBritain but buy your Oystercards on the underground stations when you get there.
