Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 150 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the company's subscription practices, particularly regarding the cancellation of "lifetime" memberships without prior notice or explanation. Customers also reported issues with the service itself, finding it unreliable and often not working as expected, especially with streaming services. The customer service was frequently described as unresponsive and unhelpful, leaving many feeling ignored and frustrated. The primary concern for many customers revolved around the company's decision to revoke lifetime subscriptions after an acquisition, with people feeling that the company failed to honor previous agreements. This led to a strong sense of betrayal and a lack of trust in the company's commitment to its customers.

Unbelievable

Unbelievable. I sent email after email, submitted ticket after ticket asking for help—only to finally get a response offering me a discount for three years of service. I get that things can change after a company gets bought out, but six months later, you expect me to pay for a service you haven't supported, haven't responded to, and even closed my account? No thanos!

Do not trust the new owners.

I am also a lifetime subscriber and as many others have already stated my account was de-activated without warning. The excuses provided by VPN Secure are a joke. Do not trust this company.

New company is just milking the infra.

Previous VPNSecure company doesn't exist anymore and:
-that was never communicated until after the bomb exploded in an attempt to keep paying customers
- lifetime deals had been terminated, and that was not communicated as well
- support just does not answer

Probably the previous company failed exactly because of lifetime deals, and I get that the new company would not do the same mistake.
Anyway the new company cannot be trusted, judging from their behaviour they are probably just milking out what's left of what they bought.
Just move along.

Same as everyone else

Same as everyone else. Bought lifetime subscription and found out via an Email that they won't be honouring it. It does matter who owns a company, the company is the brand and the brand promised something and charged money for it. If they can't provide the service they are liable to provide, they should declare bankruptcy.

We understand — and we know many others feel the same.

The original Lifetime subscriptions were sold by BoostNetwork Pty Ltd, which no longer exists. In 2023, we acquired only the infrastructure and brand through a distressed asset sale — no contracts, no payment data, and no legal continuity transferred. Even existing paid subscribers had to re-subscribe, as we had no access to the old merchant systems.

We kept Lifetime accounts active for two extra years, entirely at our own cost — not because we were liable, but because we believed it was better than cutting access immediately.

That may not change your mind, and we respect that — but it’s the full truth of what happened.

Terrible company you can’t trust

Terrible company with an unreliable service. Given the treatment of the lifetime members (I was not one), I don’t see any way in which you can trust this company with your information security. Stay way far away from this one. What once was a great service has been ruined by InfiniteQuant Ltd.

We understand your concern — and we know that trust, once lost, is hard to regain.

We didn’t handle the Lifetime transition perfectly, and we’ve openly admitted that. But to clarify: VPN Secure has always maintained a zero-logs policy, and we’ve never sold or shared user data — not under previous ownership, and not under InfiniteQuant Ltd.

We’re working to rebuild the service, but we respect your decision to stay away if that trust is gone.

Thank you for the honest feedback — and for being a happy user while it lasted.

You’re right: the service took a hit during the transition. We inherited an outdated platform with limited infrastructure, and it’s taken time to stabilize things — clearly too late for many.

We’re glad you found a provider that works for you now. We appreciate the time you spent with us — even if it ended on a low note.

Sketchy business (DO NOT buy expensive and year long subscriptions)

Buying this company includes honoring and keeping the legal obligations. What if your vendors of hardware said "we know you have prepaid servers for next 5 years but we just got bought and therefore can just take your money without anything in return"...

AT LEAST let everyone get a refund OR provide with X years free license.

We understand your frustration — and we get the analogy. If a vendor took your money and disappeared, you’d feel cheated. That’s exactly how many Lifetime users feel now.

To clarify: we didn’t buy the company — we acquired only the infrastructure and brand. We received no contracts, no payment records, and no legal continuity from the previous entity. Even non-LTD paid users had to resubscribe, because we didn’t have access to the old billing systems.

That said, you're right — we could have communicated earlier, and we could have handled the transition differently. While full refunds weren’t possible (since we never received the original funds), we’ve offered a heavily discounted path forward, and we’re still exploring additional ways to make things right for those affected.

We respect your criticism — and we’re listening, even when it’s tough to read.

Lifetime License Cancelled Without Notice – Serious Data and Trust Concerns license from…

I purchased a lifetime license from VPNSecure.me on September 26, 2020, expecting a long-term, reliable service as promised. Today, I was shocked to discover that my account had been silently deactivated, with all services removed and no explanation provided. Now, I'm being asked to pay again to reactivate my account — despite having already paid for a lifetime plan.

The new owner claims, "In 2023, we acquired VPNSecure through an asset-only deal." However, customers were never informed about this ownership change, and certainly not about any impact it would have on our accounts or rights as lifetime users.

To make things worse, they still retain all of my personal information — including full name, address, phone number, email, and password — even though they’ve terminated the service. That raises major privacy concerns, especially considering how they’re now handling former customers who are simply asking questions.

I contacted their support team multiple times over the past three months, and never received a single response. It feels like they’ve completely abandoned customer service while still holding onto user data — which brings up the question: Is our data being kept for resale or other questionable purposes?

Looking at the many similar reviews here, I know I’m not alone. This isn’t just poor service — it’s a pattern of deception and disrespect. Customers deserve transparency, not silence, data retention, and a demand for more money.

Avoid VPNSecure at all costs.

Update: ---- You say it's easy to delete an account well, tell us where, because there's clearly no option for that in the panel. I can provide a screenshot if needed. So that's yet another lie from VPNSecure."

We hear your frustration — and you're not alone in feeling let down. But we’d like to clarify a few important points:

Yes, VPN Secure was acquired through an asset-only sale in 2023, and unfortunately, Lifetime subscriptions were not disclosed in that process. We received no contracts, no payment data, and no legal obligation to continue them — and even existing paid (non-LTD) users had to re-subscribe, since we had no access to the old payment systems.

That said, we did not deactivate accounts silently — we sent two rounds of emails to all legacy users. But we also acknowledge our contact list was outdated, and many messages likely didn’t reach their destination. That’s on us, and we’ve owned that openly.

Regarding your personal information: VPN Secure is and has always been a zero-logs provider. We do not sell, share, or monetize user data — not then, not now. While we retain basic account info (like email and username) required for authentication and support, we’ve never harvested or sold personal information, and our entire infrastructure is built to protect privacy, not exploit it.

We understand if you don’t want to hear from us again — and we’ve made account deletion easy for anyone who prefers to walk away completely. But we don’t take accusations of data abuse lightly, and we’re doing everything we can to handle this transparently — even when the feedback is brutal.

Lifetime membership cancelled without warning

I paid for a lifetime subscription February 2017, this subscription was supposed to last for 20 years, so my membership should still have 11.5 years remaining. Today I tried to log into my account and it turns out that my membership has expired, I did not receive any emails or information telling me about this until it blew up on internet. VPNSecure is a dishonest company, I will not be purchasing any products from them in the future.

We understand why this feels dishonest — and we’re sorry you had to find out this way.

Your Lifetime subscription was sold by the previous owner of VPN Secure. When we acquired only the assets of the company in 2023, we didn’t receive any payment records, contract data, or legal obligations. Still, we chose to keep Lifetime accounts active for two additional years at our own cost, rather than cutting access immediately.

Unfortunately, many users didn’t receive our initial notice due to outdated email lists and delivery issues. That failure is on us — and we take responsibility for it.

We respect your decision not to return, and we truly appreciate the years you spent with the service.

Mediocre to bad

It was always a mediocre VPN, didn't do the Netflix thing, limited servers and the speeds weren't great at all. But then to find out that my lifetime subscription was just cancelled? Sorry no, I'm out. I regretted purchasing the subscription it was so bad and eventually went to Surfshark. When that expired I went back to my 'lifetime' sub only to find out it's dead. So back to Surfshark I go. At least they actually work.

Stay away!!

How can you purchase a company without looking into what you are buying?
I had hordes of technical issues with VPN secure before the purchase, with essentially nonexistent tech support. The new owners canceled my lifetime subscription without telling me for ever and, all the sudden, after myriads of negative reviews came out, they make a PR move with a "generous" offer as king for more money???
I understand they need to make a living, but then increase your (paid) user base by offering a stellar service to compensate. Don't offer a subpar service, asking past customers to simply pay more because you omitted to look into the assets you purchased…
I moved on a while back after they cut off my subscription and ignored my emails asking them to let me know why.

We fully understand your frustration — and we agree that the transition could have been handled much better.

To clarify: we didn’t purchase the original company, only its infrastructure and brand in an asset-only deal. That means we had no access to the prior owner’s contracts, payment systems (like PayPal or PinPayments), or support records. Even existing paid (non-LTD) users had to resubscribe under our new billing system, because we couldn't charge anyone from the old one.

You're right — we should have dug deeper before taking this on. We’ve admitted that publicly, and we’ve chosen to respond openly to every concern since, even when it hasn't helped our reputation.

We know our offer won’t win everyone back, and that’s okay. We're not trying to pressure anyone — just offering an option, while continuing to rebuild the service itself.

Thank you for giving the platform a shot in the past. We respect your decision to move on.

another former lifetime subscriber

As mentioned by countless others, I purchased the Lifetime subscription license. The current owners are not honoring the commitment claiming they only purchased the assets, monthly subscriptions, IP and such, but never the lifetime subscriptions, and have cancelled mine and every other lifetime subscription user. If this new ownership group doesn't honor what they have purchased, there's no telling what else they will not honor. VPN services are built on trust, and VPNSecure cannot be trusted if they cannot fulfill their commitment on what built them in the first place, regardless of who owns the name.

The emails they have sent to Lifetime Subscribers have been in poor form. They have been blaming us for their poor service, inability to keep their service "stable" and began deactivating accounts which haven't been used in 6 months because it was "technically fair". No, these subscriptions were purchased and the only "technically fair" thing to do is to honor the original deal.

Here's a quote from the email sent to us:
"In 2023, we acquired VPN Secure through an asset-only deal."
Then they follow it up claiming they did purchase the existing subscriptions:
"What was presented — and what we bought — was a monthly subscription business and the technology behind it."
Their own words indicate they purchased the existing subscribers but have chosen to cancel the lifetime just because they are not earning an income.
"We kept those accounts running for 2 extra years, entirely at our own cost — even though we never received a single cent from those subscriptions."

This is a brand everyone should stay away from. stick with a reliable and reputable VPN service. Leave this one out to die.

We understand why you're upset — and we’re not here to argue with that.

To clarify the quote you referenced: when we said we purchased “a monthly subscription business,” we meant the infrastructure and active recurring billing system — not actual customer payment data or legal contracts. In fact, we had no access to the previous company’s PinPayments or PayPal accounts, which were registered under BoostNetwork Pty Ltd. That’s why even existing paid (non-LTD) subscribers had to resubscribe through our new company and billing system.

You're absolutely right that VPN services are built on trust. That’s why, despite not being obligated to, we kept Lifetime accounts active for two additional years, entirely at our own cost — not to excuse the situation, but to avoid cutting access immediately.

We understand that this still feels unfair. And we genuinely regret that our transparency came across as deflection — that was never our intent.

We respect your decision to move on, and thank you for the time you spent with the service.
