At the time of my original request, I specified that the depreciation report was required under the company name. However, the schedule was prepared as if it were for an individual taxpayer and all second‑hand plant and equipment items were removed, even though these assets are eligible for depreciation in a company structure under current ATO rules.
I subsequently had to obtain and provide supporting ATO documentation to have this rectified. As a specialist depreciation report provider, Washington Brown should reasonably be expected to identify and apply the correct treatment from the outset, rather than relying on the client to discover and escalate such errors.

Thank you for your feedback, and I’m sorry for the inconvenience this caused, especially having to chase this up and provide extra documentation. That’s not the experience we aim to deliver.
In your case, the details that were submitted through our portal indicated the report was to be prepared under your individual name, while the invoice was requested in a company name. The report was therefore completed under the individual rules, which exclude second-hand plant and equipment. We acknowledge that we should have flagged this inconsistency and asked further questions at the outset.
Once you raised the issue with us, we updated and re-issued the schedule within two business days.
Since this report was completed in 2024, we’ve strengthened our online form and QA review systems to help prevent this kind of mismatch in future.

A Smooth, Human and Truly Exceptional Experience
I just want to say a huge thank you to Washington Brown. Honestly, one of the best service experiences I’ve ever had. They guided me from the very first moment, step by step, in such a patient and calm way.
