I've been using Washington Deluxe for the last 13+ years. They are a prompt company most of the bus drivers/operators are friendly and take great care to have us arrive to our destination safe and sound. The buses are always clean and comfortable. Most of my trips the wifi has worked great sometimes it doesn't but I'm not really bothered by that too much. The driver will usually try to find an alternative route in the case of traffic which I greatly appreciate. Nothing is worse than being stuck in traffic with an 8year old impatient child or a 75 year old impatient grandmother.

The bus was waiting when I arrived; it left on time and arrived on time. It was full to capacity but still comfortable. and the other passengers were good--no screaming babies or loud conversations.

outlets did not work, but it was late, late so I did not care but others did.
First drivers was great..sleep through #2 most of the time.

The quality of the bus is as expected . Wifi was way to slow to be useful but thats acceptable. Power Outlets worked and were at all seats.
BUT what I found really annoying is that the arrival time will be only revealed after the purchase and that the bus will stop at Union Station and Penn Station no matter what.
I booked at this company because they had buses leaving from Dupont Circle in DC and from Brooklyn in NYC which was both times closer to where I am staying. This is actually not a real benefit because the bus will go through all the downtown traffic in both cities to get to Union/Penn-Station. I would have been faster to go directly to these station than taking this stupid bus.
Thanks to this great travel route it took me 6 hours from Brooklyn to DC.

Internet was the only issue - Going access was great, returning could not link to wifi

My honest experience since I've been traveling between DC and NY for years is that is the best option to travel, affordable, new, clean, good driver (very important), punctual, respect the clients, rewards (Yeah), go directly no stops in another cities, it's very well located in DC and NY I dont need to take metro or taxi just arrive and walk to Times Square. I just liked to have more hours options, specially early like 7:00am.
I would ever recommend!

Bus was late no outlets but the driver did get us back as fast as he could.

Both ways, the buses arrived late and/or left late. The trips took 5+ hours each way, including stopping for gas. The internet didn't work. I may return to taking the train instead.

The tire burst shortly after thr bus left new york. After a 2 hr wait, the tyre was replaced but the bus was still not in shape and was bumpy throughout the long journey. Wont be buying again.

Great ride, traffic can't be helped. Wifi useless

I took this bus on a roundtrip. The bus to DC was really, really uncomfortable. I'm 5'10", and the headrest was too short and at a weird angle. And the chargers on the left side of the bus weren't working. That ride took 6 hours, when the website advertised 4.5. I know Friday afternoon has a lot of traffic, but on the way back Sunday morning, it took the same amount of time. So, the website should advertise that weekend travel is 6 hours, not the 4 to 4.5. Being stuck on a bus 90 minutes longer than expected was difficult! Fortunately, the bus back to NYC was much more comfortable. Though I feel bad for the driver. 6 hours is a long time to go without a break or a chance to stretch your legs!

Bus that picked me up in DC was 15 minutes late. Since we're told to get there 15 minutes in advance, stood there for 30 wondering why I didn't leave work later. Bus driver picked up every person who was running late, and we didn't leave until close to 4 (it was a 3:30 bus). Wifi sucked on both trips. Used a ton of my data on my phone because wifi was too slow to load anything. My return trip involved me being a speck late due to the friend I was staying with underestimating the distance from her apartment to the pick up location, and the bus driver was trying to leave without me as I stood right next to the bus freaking out and begging him to stop. Luckily another guy who worked for the company made him pull over.

Easy online reservation experience. Bus arrived early so we could load. Smooth ride the entire trip. Bus arrived at the destination on time. I rated it four stars because we had to load and unload our luggage ourselves and the power outlets did not work at the seats where my kids were sitting and WiFi internet was too slow to be useful.

I understand that traffic causes trips to be longer than expected, but even on the way back with little to no traffic, I arrived over an hour later than I planned when booking my trip. If you are choosing a bus based on what time it will arrive at your destination, plan to add at least an hour after the arrival time it lists online. They should update the site with a more accurate travel time.

The Washington Deluxe bus service arrived on time in both New York and DC. The trip was efficient with quick boarding and no stops.

My husband and I enjoyed the ride, we reclined our seats, read and took naps and the price was right. Our only complaint was on the way to DC the bus was not totally cleared of snack wrappers from the previous trip but the bus was otherwise clean.

If you are looking for a no frills, direct trip at a good rate this is the route for you. Please be aware that weekend trips have more traffic in general so you may arrive a bit late, but that is not the fault of the bus service.

Driver was nice and safe, price was good and easy to reserve. Unfortunately not one outlet worked on the bus and the bathroom was a bit stinky. And free wifi and better climate control would be a great addition. But overall would ride again.

I have very few issues with Washington Deluxe. The bus is generally on time (considering that they operate in super high traffic areas, NY and DC) and things are pretty much in order. I started using them because they drop off in Brooklyn, as opposed to in the city. However, I would appreciate if there were more buses to and from Brooklyn, since most drop offs and pick ups are still in Manhattan.

I booked with Washington Deluxe because I wanted a transfer which offered WIFI but the connection cut out for the entire trip.

The bus was overcrowded. Seats were too close. Had to sit with my feet in the aisle.
