This is a must do trip

This trip was fantastic- I felt like I saw the real Vietnam, from meeting the locals and helping on a 3 day volunteer project for a family, to seeing all the important sites. Plus other adventures that you just would not know about on a ‘regular tour’. Our guide Mr T was lovely and gave us a real insight to the love of his country and his people.
We were a group of 16 and mainly women, which most were solo travellers, it wasn’t long before friendships were made.
I would throughly recommend this tour, you will have a great time.

A trip to treasure and remember

What can I say. This trip was just what I needed. Connection with my fellow travellers and a tour and tour guide that had a passion for their country and people. Do not doubt whether you should go - just book it. You will not be disappointed. The family you might support with the volunteering project will remain in your heart and Vietnam in your soul forever Perfect way to connect with the real Vietnam

Xin Chao,

Ahhh this makes me so happy to read! 🧡 It sounds like Vietnam worked its magic on you — the people, the purpose, the connections... all the good stuff. And you're so right, the families we meet through the volunteer projects stay with us long after the trip ends. Thank you for jumping in with an open heart — we’re so glad you came along. Come back anytime... Vietnam (and we!) will be waiting! 🇻🇳✨

Enriching Vietnam February 2025

Our Way To Travel tour in Vietnam, February 2, 2025 was enormously interesting, fascinating and life-changing. Mr. T our guide was excellent at explaining, describing and organizing our days around Vietnam history and culture. Our group worked together to help a family in need. For me this was the most worthwhile and meaningful part of the tour. I have learned so much about Vietnam and learned so much about myself during these enriching two weeks.Thank you to Jane for organizing such a wonderful tour. Thank you to Mr. T for your wisdom and humor.

Brilliant tour with an even more brilliant guide!

There are so many fabulous experiences on this busy tour that you really get to see a lot of varied aspects of Vietnam. The country and the people are amazing but the absolute highlights are the most fabulous guide and having the opportunity to do the volunteer project in the middle of this trip that makes such an amazing difference, transforming lives for a family facing challenge. Just great all round!

Must Try Experience

Way to Travel is one of the best ways to travel to Vietnam. After already going to Vietnam twice in back-to-back years, going with Way to Travel was a completely different experience from the two times I went. In Way to Travel's philosophy of traveling is rather than just being a tourist doing tourist, you get to see the real side of Vietnam and how the people here actually live while being able to give back. Being a Vietnamese American and being able to give back to my parents' mother country is something that I will forever be grateful for and is an experience ineffable to explain. For the service we did truly was something that touched my heart, knowing the impact we were going to have building a chicken coop for families in need. Meeting the family that we worked with and seeing how happy they were despite struggling with poverty made me ask myself the question of what is happiness? Does happiness only come from money? Just being able to spend time eating the delicious food with the family and hanging out with them, made me find the true meaning of human connection. Through Way to Travel, I found my true purpose and life and understood how I should live my life without regret. I can not forget to mention our tour guide Anh Harry who is the GOAT. Without Anh Harry's guidance and wisdom, I could not come out a better person exploring the beauty of my motherland. I cannot thank Jane enough the founder of Way to Travel for giving me such a one-of-a-kind experience that I will always remember.

The experience that Way To Travel…

The experience that Way To Travel presence is probably unlike any other going into Asia as we are able to truly step into the shoes of culture. The service aspect definitely helps experiencing life of locals more than you would ever feel on any trip. In all it is an eye opening view on life of the culture and yourself.

Amazing and transformative experience

If you are looking for a tour group for Vietnam, choose way to travel. My trip to Vietnam was the most eye opening, spiritually fulfilling, and transformative experiences of my life so far. The service work that we did felt like we were actually making a difference in someone’s life. The cultural immersion of wandering through the streets of Hanoi, Ninh Binh, and Hue felt very significant. I would recommend to anyone and everyone to use way to travel as their tour group

Way to Travel Vietnam on…

Travelled with Way to Travel Vietnam on the February 17-day trip from North to South. From the day of booking to the day I got home was a fantastic experience. Jane and T always there for everyone. The trip is so well organized, and the accommodation was always the best. It's a great way to see Vietnam and with T's knowledge of the history of his country we were informed of every place we visited. The 3-day giving back project was the highlight, what our team did in those 3 days was outstanding and changed the life of the family forever. Also, the visit to the school was a highlight. I have already booked my next trip in November and looking forward to doing it all again. Thank you Way to Travel Vietnam Jane and T.

Way to Travel operates this trip as Discover Vietnam (and the South as an add on) with Volunteering as pay back travel

Way to Travel operates this trip as a 'Pay back' trip, volunteering to help a local family transform their lives with 3 days for us to volunteer to work to achieve this, which is totally and completely rewarding. However, during the rest of the trip we visited Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh, Hue for the volunteering, Hoi An and Saigon. Uniquely travelling by Overnight river cruise, Overnight railway sleeper train, internal flights and private Bus travel. I would highly recommend this trip which was perfected by our Guide Mr T. Mr T is highly intelligent & knowledgeable, courteous, kind, and razor focussed on ensuring that everyone in the group is catered for, included and cared for 24 hours a day for the entire duration of the trip. The accommodation provided was excellent whilst varied. I have no hesitation in recommending this trip. Thank you Mr T, for making it such an unforgettable experience.

Wonderful

Wonderful trip with varied activities and a fantastic guide. Mr T is knowledgeable about his country, calm in a crisis and always willing to go the extra mile for his group. Markets, boat trips, bike rides, the overnight train, cooking lessons - this tour had it all. However the highlight was our three day community project assisting local builders to construct a bathroom and chicken coop for a local family. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting not only to see the usual tourist sights of Vietnam but to see a little more of the country and its people.

Amazing Experience

Way to Travel was amazing to work with from start to finish! Jane’s attention to detail, passion for sharing her culture, and mission to make a difference made our experience more than we ever could have imagined. Harry was the perfect tour leader for our group and was someone we all trusted and relied on. As they got to know us, they came up with new wonderful ideas to make the trip even more special and meaningful. We are so grateful for them, and would recommend them to anyone thinking about visiting Vietnam!

A truly authentic Vietnamese adventure!

A quick Google search will offer so many holiday options promising the opportunity to see the ‘real’ Vietnam. Having just come back from this 17-day trip with Way to Travel, I can’t recommend travelling with them highly enough. This was my first visit to Vietnam and, thanks to them, I wasn’t disappointed. The itinerary looked really interesting, starting in the North, travelling through the centre and then on to the South (I opted for the bolt on to Saigon and the Mekong) but the trip itself is so much more than the itinerary suggests. Yes, it includes time in the usual tourist hotspots that you’d expect to visit (Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh city) but the number of additional activities, squeezed in wherever possible, really allow you to get under the skin of this beautiful country. Jane Hanoi and Tuan (the indefatigable Mr T) have clearly put an enormous amount of thought into this trip to help guests really understand the history, culture, cuisine and a way of life that would undoubtedly be missed on a regular package-type tour. Mr T is one of the best guides I’ve ever met – enthusiastic, patient, calm, knowledgeable, kind, good humoured, organised, generous and so passionate about the history of Vietnam. From having to juggle the itinerary following unexpected weather challenges (a storm warning in Ha Long which sadly resulted in the cancellation of our overnight cruise and severe flooding in Hue which caused us to be stranded on the overnight train for six hours!), to recommending restaurants and activities for our free time and helping us through any issues or challenges that arose, Mr T was just incredible, going above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible time. The highlight of the trip for me was the ‘Do Something Small, Change Something Big’ community giving project in Hue. The flooding impacted this too but once again, Mr T came up with a solution to maximise our time on the project so that we were able to achieve what had been planned. Thanks again Mr T and Jane for this wonderfully authentic experience – it was all I hoped it would be and more. I have no doubt that Way to Travel will go from strength to strength.

The most amazing trip!

I recently had the most amazing trip in Vietnam with Way To Travel and would not hesitate to highly recommend it. From the start, it was obvious that a lot of thought and time had gone into the preparation before we even arrived. Everything ran so smoothly and it was evident that every aspect of the trip had been considered carefully. Nothing is too much trouble, there were numerous occasions when our guide Tuan went out of his way for a member of the group. I thought I had met the best tour guide in the world in Arii when we did the Tahiti trip, but Tuan really is something special. He has a wealth of knowledge having taken a degree in history; but he is also kind, compassionate, thoughtful, calm, extremely well organized, and is able to read the group well – essential with a group of varying ages and nationalities. I know my fellow travellers agree that he is an extraordinary guy. Jane and Tuan are clearly very passionate about their country and helping the people in their local communities. I was particularly impressed with the way the Community Project was organised. The family had been very carefully chosen by Tuan himself and we were able to see that all our money went directly to the family – everything we had put money towards was there for the family on our last day. It was great to see the fruits of our labour – and our donations. The trip was extremely good value for money, and I don’t say that very often! They have cut out middlemen as far as possible and so are able to ensure control and quality. Our accommodations were much better than I expected. The activities were all excellent. There were many additional experiences not mentioned in the original itinerary. There was a good balance of busyness, fun and free time. I feel Way to Travel have integrity and a good moral compass. If your geographical compass takes you on their tour, I’m sure you will not be disappointed!

I recently took the “Secret Handicraft…

I recently took the “Secret Handicraft Villages of Hanoi - A Day Off The Beaten Track” tour, and it was an unforgettable experience. The tour was extremely well-organized and professional. Jane and her team were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, showing me unique aspects of Hanoi’s culture that I would have missed if I were traveling alone.

From intricate crafts to the vibrant local life, every moment was filled with fascinating insights and beautiful sights. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore Hanoi beyond the usual tourist spots. It truly offers a glimpse into the heart of Vietnam’s rich heritage.

Thank you, Jane and team, for an amazing day!

Highly recommend this Way To Travel Vietnam tour!

What a fantastic trip! We experienced so many different things on our journey, travelling by plane, night train, boats, bicycles, rickshaws and buses. We learnt so much about the Vietnamese people, their history, culture, lifestyle and country! Our tour guides were all amazing! Especially Mr T! The people are friendly, kind, generous and peaceful! The accommodation was great and the food out of this world! Finally, but not least, the volunteer project was incredibly rewarding, and a real feature of the trip! I would definitely return to Vietnam and highly recommend Way To Travel!

Way to travel review

Travelling Vietnam and learning about the culture, the people, the language and the history while making new friends was already amazing. The give back project made it super special. To work hands on to improve the lifes of a family that you meet and connect to is very special. Tourguide Tuan is the best! And Mat and Jane from Way to travel are just lovely and ever so helpful.

An amazing experience

I cannot praise this trip highly enough. From start to finish it was packed full of wonderful new experiences. There is so much included - not just many meals and some excellent accommodation (much better than I expected!), but also a huge variety of activities, many of which you would not get to experience on a package tour, or even if travelling independently. Our Guide Tuan was exceptional; nothing was too much trouble for him, and he worked tirelessly to ensure that we all had an enjoyable time, whilst feeling safe and looked after. His knowledge of history greatly enhanced our enjoyment of the many places we visited, and his good humour had us constantly laughing. City walking tours, swimming at a waterfall, a mini cruise, cookery lessons, mud fishing, cycling, many boat trips and an overnight train were just some of our adventures. The volunteer project, where we carried out house improvements for a disadvantaged family, left us tired but humbled, and we were able to see that every penny of our money went direct to the family we were helping. It was a real privilege to be part of the project, and helped our little group bond even more. I made new friends, had new experiences, learned new things about myself and about this wonderful country.
