I just finished my 4th trip with Way To…
I just finished my 4th trip with Way To Travel, and wow, what a special one it was! It’s such a joy to have been part of this journey and to know that, in some way, I helped the lovely family we worked with. In just three days, we built a chicken coop, a new bathroom, and tiled the entire floor of their home. It was incredibly rewarding, but it also felt like a real holiday, experiencing the heart of Vietnam.
We started in Hanoi, visiting temples, churches, and bustling markets where we got to sample local fruits. One of the highlights was sitting in a narrow street, sipping coffee as the train passed right by us! Afterward, we took a rickshaw ride back to the beautiful lake.
Next, we headed to Halong Bay for an overnight cruise, which included swimming, kayaking, and exploring caves. Then it was on to Ninh Binh, another stunning destination where we cycled and took boat rides with local men and women rowing with their feet. After lunch, and maybe a quick massage, we climbed Dragon Mountain (for those who felt up to it!).
Our adventure continued with an overnight train to Hue, staying in VIP cabins. After a delicious breakfast in a lovely hotel, we enjoyed a trip down the Perfume River, taking in the breathtaking views of the pagoda.
But the highlight for me was the volunteering—working alongside that wonderful family was a humbling experience. They were so grateful and happy, and I’ll always cherish the memories of the families I’ve had the privilege to help.
After volunteering, we headed to the beautiful town of Hoi An for even more fun and surprises. I can’t recommend this trip enough, and I’m already hoping to return next year.
Thank you, Way To Travel!
Unforgettable Experience
I had an amazing time on this trip. Met some wonderful people from around the world and the itinerary was perfect. Highlight for me was our giving back project, such a memorable and rewarding experience. Well done Jane & Mr T, the trip was more than I expected. Kerry xx
Wonderful Way to Travel
Activity packed trip. When the weather disagreed with the original plans, the organizers came up with other plans which were equally valuable. Accommodations were comfortable and very clean and surpassed y expectations. The food was delicious! And our guide… Mr. T. is an extremely knowledgeable person who willingly and enthusiastically shares his knowledge about his country. He is a kind hearted, generous person who is an amazingly ambassador for Way to Travel! Loved this trip, love the principles and goals of this company. Jane and T are absolutely wonderful hosts.
Trip of a lifetime with Way to Travel in Vietnam!
This trip for me was supposed to be a trip of a life time and it did not disappoint at all. It was truly filled with wonderful experiences from start to finish. Even the flood we experienced in Hue didn’t put a damper on the trip, it became part of the adventure. Our Tour leader Ngo “Mr T” was simply amazing. He shared his country with us and shared the love he has for it! I highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in Vietnam. There is a giving back component to the tour and we able to help a local family in Hue with improvements to their home that certainly changed their lives. It was an honour to be part of this service project if only for a few days. Thank you Jane and T!
Amazing !!
I could not have dreamt of a better way to experience Vietnam. The jam packed itinerary, the giving back project and the expert guidance from Mr T made this trip a one of a kind. From beginning to end the waytotravel team looked after every detail and constantly looked for ways to add value, provide an authentic experience and pass on their passion for their country and for helping their people. Thank you Jane and Mr T for this amazing experience!!
WAY TO TRAVEL What an amazing adventure…
WAY TO TRAVEL What an amazing adventure from the first day to the last everything was so well organised! Before travel Jane was always very quick to respond to any query snd give advice on travel! Our guide ‘cheeky Charlie’ was a true 5*guide so much fun but a true professional extremely passionate about his country was determined to show us so much of his beautiful country! He was available 24/7 and nothing was too much trouble going out of his way to help with any little issue! The ‘give back’ project was again very well organised and along with hard work was so much fun resulting in a great improvement in a lovely families way of life! We saw and did so much - the trip far exceeded my expectations - accommodation in all places was excellent and always in a great location (the pools were an added bonus). Anyone looking for an amazing adventure with a company who give 100% to making it a safe, fun filled amazing adventure then ‘Way to Travel’ is 100%the one to choose! Thank you Jane and Charlie for a wonderful tour!
I booked with Way to Travel
I booked with Way to Travel, give back holidays seeking adventure, and an insight into Vietnams culture I was excited, it’s a country that had always interested me. From day one, this country captivated my soul, with its rich history, diverse culture, from bustling city streets to serene countryside, it’s been an incredible experience. Our guide Charlie Khan was kind, funny, helpful, and very well informed as he proudly walked us through each new destination, feeding our curiosty with historical facts and insights into Vietnamese life. There were so many highlights, from working in harmony with the group, on our give back project, to eating in private homes, experiencing the culture and hospitality of beautiful, friendly people, it would take far too long to detail them all. I jhighly recommend that you book with Way to Travel and enjoy an adventure which will leave an indelible mark in your soul, yourself. Janes organisational skills from behind the scenes, the work that she put in to create such an expansive itinerary was exceptional, as we navigated from Hanoi to Saigon, enjoying a very smooth travel path, with no hiccups, quite an acheivment. This trip far exceeded my expectations. Thank you Charlie and Jane...........looking forward to travelling with you again in the future.

This admirably crafted and organized introduction to Vietnam’s culture and people is a not-to-be missed experience that combines cultural events and activities with one-on-one interactions with local people. For me, the personal contact was especially interesting and gratifying. I enjoyed events like visits to a primary school and disabled persons workshop, but the highlight of the whole experience was the three days we laboured with local workers to improve the living conditions of a three-children poor family. Among other things, we added a concrete chicken coop and an indoor bathroom and toilet to their home. It was hard work, but it was also an exhilarating experience that left everyone in the group with a profound sense of achievement and satisfaction. I enjoyed this trip immensely and have no reservation in recommending it to others.

The owner /operator is a very compassionate , caring and fun loving lady . Way To Travel! A small tour company that brings it on Big!!!
This was our first trip to Vietnam as well as our first volunteering experience and Way To Travel did not disappoint, in fact they surpassed our expectations! Jane, owner of Way To Travel replied to our questions and concerns before the trip within hours (sometimes minutes!). She accompanied us on parts of the tour and was such a pleasure to get to know. She treated us all like family! Our guide “T” was a gem! He was so knowledgeable, kind, caring, read our group well and went above and beyond what we would expect as our guide. The trip’s itinerary was well thought out and our accommodations were great! We especially enjoyed the Homestays, The highlight of the trip for us was the 3 day Volunteer Project in Hue, which gave us an opportunity to help a struggling family by modernizing their home in the countryside. 10% of the cost of this tour is used to tackle this project! A little goes a long way in Vietnam! From beginning to end, this tour was incredible!
Secret Handcraft Villages of Hanoi
Secret Handcraft Villages of Hanoi
A day trip you don’t want to miss!
This was an amazing day trip from Hanoi with amazing guides. We toured three villages. The first village is known for its lacquer art using egg shells. We got ro try our hand at making an art piece! The second village is known for making traditional conical hats, which we got to participate in making. After this we had lunch at a local family’s home. The meal was full of different foods and absolutely delicious! The third village is known for making incense sticks which are used daily in Vietnamese life and necessary at temples and shrines. We toured an incense factory and concluded our trip at a family’s incense shop where different colored incense sticks look like flowering bushes. This trip is not only fun, it is informative and helps describe and show the Vietnamese life and culture.
Myself and my husband Jason
Myself and my husband Jason. Are just back from the 13 day trip.
5 star treatment from Jane and Mr T.
This was our vist time doing an organised tour and volunteer work.
So much jammed into 13 days.
It's great this company gives back to less fortunate families.
We also were very lucky to tour with like minded people who loved to enjoy themselves as well.
If you want to vist Vietnam 🇻🇳 contact Jane on @waytotravel.
You won't regret it.
Ps. Still on a high 😃
More than 5 star!!
It's hard for me to put into words the life changing, amazing experience that I had in Vietnam with Way To Travel!! Jane and T do a phenomenal job of making you feel like you're part of an extended family. You will not need or want for anything!! We got an intimate, unique experience of Vietnam north to south and everything is thought out, planned and executed PERFECTLY. Not one single flaw the entire time. Awesome itinerary, nice, clean hotels rooms, cultural experiences in remote villages, amazing excursions and some of the most delicious food I've ever had!! My 75 year old mother joined me on this small group tour and she said it was one of the best experiences of her life. Very accommodating to people's limitations and Jane and T go out of their way to make sure you have a blast and are there with you every step of the way. The volunteer portion is too big for words- absolutely life changing. I still find myself emotional when I think about it. All I can say is if you're thinking of traveling to Vietnam there's no other way I can think of besides Way to Travel.
Love Way To Travel ❤️…
I have just returned from my trip with Way To Travel. Such a magical trip to do the first time as a solo woman. The Volunteer project was for me a truly humbling experience and the highlight of the trip along with a visit to the Hope centre in Hue. I feel so privileged to have been apart of such a wonderful group of people helping others as well as having an amazing journey travelling through Vietnam with new friends. Both Jane and T take care of everything and make you feel apart of their family from the time you are picked up at the Aiport, they cater for everyone’s needs and seek out the most amazing restaurant and places to visit that are truly hidden gems. I highly recommend this trip to anyone thinking about travelling through Vietnam as no other tour will come close to what you experience with Way To Travel.
Memories for life made in Vietnam looked after the entire…
Brilliantly looked after the entire trip from start to finish.
I’m just back from the amazing 17 day trip. From start to finish I was looked after. I completely forgot by day 2 , I had gone on this adventure alone. It was such a lovely inclusive group! The group were all like minded so we all shared our travel experiences & tips!
The trip was packed full of fun things to do, I did everything because I live life to the full! But u don’t have to!
The ‘give back’ was a fantastic opportunity to appreciate how lucky I am. The Hope Centre trip made you appreciate what a lovely company Way to Travel is. We also had such a fun time at the school with the beautiful students.
I would not hesitate to recommend this trip! Mr T & Jane have made my trip to Vietnam so special!
I would say, don’t hesitate, just book it & if you are going alone don’t worry & share a room! I’ve made a friend for life!
What an amazing trip
What an amazing trip! So much was packed into each day, it was so well organised with great food, volunteering experiences, activities including cooking, cycling, kayaking and hiking. We went from Hanoi, Halong Bay, Nimh Binh, Hue, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh and the Mekong Delta. Making a difference to a family in helping to build a chicken coop and upgrade their living conditions made the trip so worthwhile, while teaching me new skills. Thoroughly recommend Jane and T in making the trip so special.
Vietnam- vacation with purpose
I returned yesterday from life changing tour with #WayToTravel Vietnam.
The attached picture before and after of the family we helped speaks loud. We built chicken coop and provided 50 chicks, renovated bathroom and installed shower and poured concrete in front of house with fixing steps for easy access.
These were only 3 days of our work but but big change for family. We collected extra money to buy bike and desk for boys and some food and bathroom accessories for family.
All 17 days of this trip are filled with visiting beautiful places, eating delicious food, spending time with old friends and making new ones.
All that perfectly organized and our guide Mr. T went way above his responsibilities - providing suggestions and even organizing food tour in his hometown Hue in his free time.
If you go try egg coffee, salty coffee (my favourite), coconut coffee.
Favourite place is hard to choose - water puppet show was something I’ve never seen before.
I liked crowded cities but also quiet times at homestay.
And people, people, people - so friendly.😍
I recommend 100%
