Steven was great and fast

Steven was great and fast. I will definitely try we buy any the next time I buy a new car. The car I sold I didn’t need anymore since I retired . Especially because I hang on to my vehicles more than 5 yrs. Dealers low ball you when your car is a little older.

Highly recommend

I got a call the night before my appointment telling me exactly what to expect, what to bring and how long it would take. Everything was exactly as described. I sold my car for $300 more than what I would have gotten on trading it in. I’m a happy customer.

Stephen was polite

Stephen was polite, friendly and businesslike, all of which we expected in this interaction and were not disappointed. While we would have liked a better offer on the car (and who wouldn't) it was for us the convenience of selling this car thru this company and not trying to negotiate and navigate the system with a private buyer one-on-one. Neither of us were there to make a new friend but we would consider WBAC in the future if we'd a car (again) with these miles and this much use.

Terry

Terry, the agent I dealt with was efficient, knowledgeable and congenial. He is an asset to your business. His was the best customer service experience I have had in years. The offer, which I accepted, was fair. The process was extremely quick and easy. I helped my daughter sell her car to the same location 2 years ago and was very pleased then, so I had no hesitation using your service again.

Satisfied customer

Manager was pleasant and explained the entire process very clearly. The physical evaluation of my vehicle at their location was a transparent process and the final price I was paid was fair and competitive with other similar type buyers. Payment was same day at completion of the transaction. Satisfied customer.

This is a great place to sell a car!!

Stephan was very helpful and honest about everything that he was doing. Told me everything that was going to happen and made it all quick and easy. I would recommend WBAC to anyone looking to sell their car. My car was in pretty rough shape and I was given more than I thought I would. I would definitely go back to them if I was to sell a car again in the future!

Low-Balled, Bait and Switch

Only sell here to for a quick exit from a car, you'll get significantly less than you'd get in a private sale. Looking back on the experience, I would have been better off donating the car or selling it privately, or even giving it to someone who needed an inexpensive car to get by for a while.

I accurately entered a 2005 Chrysler on the website, received an estimated value, made an appointment, and was offered about half of the value. Stephan didn't ask any questions about the car or its history, took it for a short test drive, and made what I thought was an insulting offer. He told me "what did you think, it's a 2005 Chrysler". I expected the website to not produce a bait and switch price for the car, it wasn't like I claimed the car was newer than it was. Although the car had some rust and other minor issues including a check engine light (EGR valve needed to be replaced, I didn't want to "cheat" them by clearing it), I told him that the car was worth more than their offer for parts, had a good engine, many other good parts, I was the original owner and that it was in overall good condition. He then told me that the car was a one or a low two on a scale of one to five and that they'd just take it to the auction to be rid of it.

Stephan just "shrugged his shoulders" and wouldn't do better, but he did say they'd honor the offer for a week if I wanted to sell it myself instead. I should have walked out, but at that point I wanted to move on as I'd already bought another car, so I took the insulting low ball offer, felt like I had been baited and cheated, and left.

Hi JL,

We’re sorry to hear you feel cheated, certainly that’s not how we want to treat our customers. We wouldn’t have a 5-star rating from hundreds of reviews if that were the case. To start bait and switch is an illegal and immoral business practice and does not occur at webuyanycar.com. Like any reputable buyer we need to perform a physical appraisal to check the vehicle’s condition. If we find damage we were previously unaware of, we need to take that into consideration when pricing a vehicle. Our promise to our customers is that if we find issues, we’re open and transparent about them. We want all our customers to be comfortable with why we arrived at the price we did.

We keep detailed records of every online valuation, phone call and in-branch inspection and our leadership team will be happy to review the detailed notes, photos, and videos to ensure everything was completed correctly and you were treated fairly. If we made a mistake, we’ll gladly make it right.

As you mentioned in your review, the vehicle had rust. This rust wasn’t declared during the online valuation process, so we supplied a valuation inline with a vehicle that was in better shape than the vehicle’s actual condition. We’re not worried about normal wear and tear; dings and dents are part of any used vehicle’s history. Rust, on the other hand, is outside the scope of normal, and depending on its placement and severity, it can be a sign of bigger problems. Reviewing the notes, the rust as well as structural damage to the rocker panel assembly played a part in negatively impacting what we could pay for the vehicle.

We will be the first to admit that selling a vehicle privately is always the best way to maximize resale value. Doing that comes with time and risk, having to take pictures of the vehicle, post them online, meet with strangers, and complete the paperwork. Our customers are weary or selling online and value their time. They want to turn to a trusted source to sell their car hassle-free. We’re not in the business of parting out cars and selling parts and pieces, again a process that is quite tedious and niche to recycling centers.

Regardless of the damage, we’re glad we could make you an offer you were happy to accept. We want our customers to have a positive experience and if we didn’t communicate clearly or provide excellent customer service, we want to address that. Our leadership team will be reviewing your inspection and reaching out to you directly. We value your business and value the opportunity to listen to your feedback, address your concerns, and try to give you the 5-star experience we’re known for. Please be on the lookout for our calls.

Thank you for alerting us to your experience and for giving us the opportunity to connect and restore your faith in webuyanycar.com.

Kind Regards,
Kevin, on behalf of webuyanycar.com
