Best food and customer service

We ordered veggie paninis with cheese and onion patties from Reading Woodley branch. They were delicious and cooked very well. The staff was very helpful. I highly recommend it and will visit again soon. Thank you!

Going down hill

Going down hill, ordered 2 baguettes, firstly no seeded option anymore and secondly, filling was so thin it's no longer worth even buying. Usually buy as a treat but will avoid going forward.

Stop will all the new fancy stuff and go back to basics to what people actually buy, a decent sarnie

Wonderful service - above and beyond

Had to give feedback on wonderful service from Ritu and Salma in the St Anns Harrow store... We ordered a sandwich platter for a church meeting, and it had attached a friendly message that the food was made "with love and excitement so it should taste yummy". It was indeed delicious, and I went to the store to say thank you - the ladies were so pleased that we had enjoyed our lunch - and seemed surprised that I had bothered to say thank you. Such lovely staff deserve huge praise indeed! I normally enjoy Wenzels food anyway, but this was certainly "above and beyond".

Wenzels Ilford high road Manager Lee

Wenzels Ilford high road Manager Lee. I have been their twice via GoodtoGo. As soon as he saw me between the slot of 17:15 to 17:30. He cancelled the order. It feels like he does it on purpose. Always gives weird looks to PoC. Blatantly lied that there was nothing left when I could clealry see there was lots left. I went in at 17:20pm Slot end at 17:30pm. I reserved and paid for it. He saw me and did the same thing to the till to cancel it like last time. If you don't like PoC maybe you shouldn't be working there!!

Cake ordered for 35 portions. Barely enough for 22

I ordered the Oreo cake 8 inches which as per the suggestion on the website should be sufficient for 35 portions. It was barely enough for 22. It was for a kids birthday party and I had to cut very small portions as it would not have been sufficient even for 25.

I had a very unpleasant experience…

I had a very unpleasant experience bournemouth square at Wenzel’s Bakery on 16 January 2026 at around 12:55 PM. The sales executive who served me was extremely rude.

I was purchasing a sandwich and politely mentioned that I had received a discount the previous day using my bus driver’s pass. Instead of explaining the policy properly, she spoke to me in a rude and disrespectful manner.

No customer deserves to be treated like this, especially for asking a simple question. Staff should be polite and professional at all times. Please be aware of this behaviour.

If you want it shorter, stronger, or more polite, tell me and I’ll adjust it.

Long wait for just a drink

I was in your Watford store in Watford High Street.
I'd ordered a hot chocolate and the assistant vanished to the back and I was thinking he was making me my drink. After 5 minutes or more he returned and just looked at me. I asked him for my drink and said something about he'd made a coffee but now was going to make my hot chocolate like he was doing me a favour. I think he'd forgotten about my order. Didn't even apologise😕

Just back from Wenzels in Reading town…

Just back from Wenzels in Reading town centre (opposite John Lewis). Will be my last visit.

Asked for a tuna salad bagette (baguette of the day @£2.50). Picked up a Tango and a packet of crisps. Went to the counter, and was asked by the staff member "do you want the meal deal". I said yes, and they then said the total was £7.00. I asked how much for the crisps (£1.25) and the drink (£1.75), so I challenge "why is it £7.00". Was told that I had asked for the meal deal, and that is £7.00! I politely challenged and said that I wanted "the cheapest way to buy the three items". Was told again that I had asked for a meal deal. Wow. Incredible.
