I was in your Watford store in Watford High Street. I'd ordered a hot chocolate and the assistant vanished to the back and I was thinking he was making me my drink. After 5 minutes or more he returne... See more

Out of date food and bully their employees
The staff here are awful! The management treat their employees like crap especially the new one L... The nastiest person I've ever met! They ignore when food is out of date, do not throw stuff out the night before . Bully their staff, do not give them their legal breaks. This wenzels in hitchin really needs to be shut down!

My past 4 orders got cancelled for no reason, won't bother to order from them again, not that it matters as it just gets cancelled anyway, terrible service

Baguettes used to be £3.75 but over the weekend they’ve shot up to £4.15! A vegan sausage roll was £2.75 (already on the expensive side compared to competitors) and they’ve increased that to £2.90. I cannot believe they’ve inflated their prices like this, what a joke.

Customer service appalling - rude, slow and unprofessional
No Gloves Worn, Dangerous
Was shocked to discover that none of the staff wear gloves, even when making the sandwiches. Reason being is that I caught a bad gastro bug after visiting their local store.
Surely wearing gloves when handling customers' food is ESSENTIAL.
Worst food hygiene. Not sure I will go back now.

Could have done without the tardy service
I occasionally buy a sandwich from the St Albans (Chequer Street) branch, and have always asked for lettuce to be added. Today, the person rolled her eyes and huffed when I asked. Apparently Wenzel's now charge 20p for a few pieces of lettuce, bearing in mind the sandwich is already £3.50. I suggest, Ana, if you're going to roll your eyes, you at least do it facing away from the customer. Also bear in mind we, as customers, ultimately pay your wages. It was order 58, if anyone at Wenzels wants to look into it.
Freezing!
I visited the store in Waterlooville, Hampshire for the first time last week. The coffee was ok but we were freezing as their big doors are left open. Anyone else experience similar?
I think we'll carry on with Costa, which is warm and has loo's!!

This bakery 10 years ago was one of the best things ever and now it’s honestly one of the worst and extremely expensive every time I go i spend a fortune don’t enjoy the highly processed food and feel unwell afterwards.
Online platter orders
DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FOR STORE DELIVERY - these orders vanish into a black hole you will see other reviews similar. Use Simmons instead if you are local.
I ordered online and the order didn't turn up at the store. Manager gave me other items so we had something at least, very nice and professional of him.
Complained to HQ who look the online order - explained the guy in store was great but that there was still an issue (didnt get what i ordered plus waiting 40 mins).
They offer 20% off my next online order - what a joke. Credit card legal team speaking to them to get me a refund.
When you phone their office no one is there in morning - strange that for a bakery!
its ok for a quick coffee
I like the consistency of things. Here in west London. The food is either too salty, the tuna or the egg rolls and I eschew from the cakes... way too sugary.
The coffee... for the price... machined. ok. So I only go here for the coffee now. its quick and cheap.
Nice product, awful team
Southbourne/Bournemouth - great products, well prepared and taste good. Staff ? Oh my goodness. The miserable lady who serves is so rude. I had to show her the order on my phone and she insisted it was printed in large scale font to help me . Who has a large scale printer at home these days ? Bizzarre.
Ordered platters
Ordered platters, sandwiches, bridge rolls and cakes, for my mum's funeral, ordered well in advance, turned up on day of funeral to collect, Feltham store knew nothing about it, even though I had a confirmation email and order number. Had to quickly find alternate. NOT happy!!!!

Food good but pot luck on the staff members, they get hump when don’t ask for a meal deal and even more agitated when you point out you have still been charged for it. I tend to just tell them to leve it but it’s happened before and now I think it’s only fair I let people know.

I frequent the store on Chingford Mount; the staff are so friendly and helpful. I have a serious love for the vegan sausage rolls; you should shout about them from the rooftops as they easily beat competitor's efforts. If you ever need a tester to ensure quality, I'll volunteer!

I go there Fridays and Saturdays I went today the brown seed rolls have got shorter my friend have said the same less fillings for the same price the rolls are at least 3 inches shorter not go I went on Friday asked for brown seeded Ham salad roll and a chicken salad brown seeded roll got home to find both were white I do not eat white bread so paid nearly £8 for rolls I can’t eat
Extremely unpleasant and unprofessional…
Extremely unpleasant and unprofessional gossipping and swearing whilst customers are in store definitely wouldn't take kids near them using language like they do, disgraceful. I refuse to shop anywhere where the staff use that kind of language in front of customers. Women needs to be FIRED ASAP.
Unacceptable behaviour
