The whole process is quite simple
The whole process is quite simple. Like any other auction you choose what you want to bid on, place your bid and chose an upper limit and then wait. You are given daily updates on the auction lots when you have been outbid and gives you the opportunity to bid again. Should you be lucky enough to win you are told exactly what you need to pay, including commission and P&P. The rest is done for you so sit back and wait for your winning bids to arrive.

Do not like the payment system for sold bottles
Did not like having to chase for payment. But also do not like the fact that Whisky.auction makes more money when payments are late from buyers yet passes none of that penalty to the seller.... and probably earns interest on the sellers 'held' payment.
Working on 5% interest it soon adds up on large sums held.
Also a lot of your competitors do not charge sellers a commission.

Could do better
Well packaged bottles, quick delivery. Problem with some older bottles where the cork has perished, to be fair, do not know how this could be checked, but when you purchase bottles you expect better.

Regarding the cork, at auction you aren't buying new products as you would be at retail and old cork (being of course, tree bark) does have its imperfections. After 10-20+ years in situ (as was the case with one or two of the bottles you purchased), these corks do have a habit of breaking off quite regularly as stated in the condition statements on each lot.
When it comes to opening old bottles we know if can be tricky so we recommend referring to our magazine guide on the best ways to open old bottles. You can find it here: https://magazine.whisky.auction/how-to/how-to-open-an-old-bottle-of-whisky/
In terms of the liquid itself, however, you should have no issues, and a tea-strainer should do the trick to help remove any pieces of cork.
