Ended up paying $5000 more than I was…

Ended up paying $5000 more than I was originally quoted. I added items, so I was expecting an increase, but not that significantly. I was told because I booked early “the systems did not work in my favor.” Management was rude, abrasive, and condescending. I literally had to ask if I could speak during the phone call because of how much they were trying to argue with me. Also, as a broker, they assume no legal obligation if items were damaged by the carrier. The carrier completely destroyed a family heirloom and basically told me there’s nothing they can do about it either. This was 2 months ago, and I am still in the claims process. I also know that my belongings were loaded on and off at least 4 different trucks before arriving which was seen in the result of the amount of damage sustained. Management also told me they didn’t care if I wrote a negative review and that I should have booked with someone else. I don’t think I’ve ever been disregarded or disrespected by a company as much as I have experienced with them. Long story short, I’m out an additional $5k, have destroyed furniture, and probably the worst customer service experience of my life.

Not the worst for a broker

I was quoted $9800 but I ended up paying $14000, however that was more on me having WAY more stuff than I realised. The brightside guy was nice on the phone. I did hate that it felt rushed. The two movers who showed up were from Arena Van Lines. They were a little brash and one was still learning English but not horrible. I was miffed the movers left stuff and didn't tell me, but again I had a lot of crap. But they didn't break anything, they basically followed me in the cross country drive and delivered straight away. This experience has made me decide to become a minimalist. Seriously. Haha

Was quoted $3600, paid $6500

Was quoted $3600, the contractor (MAP) they hired them charged me an additional $2200 day off and their subcontractor forced me to leave a generous tip once my items were on the truck. They then have me a 21 day delivery window, showed up hours later than the time they set and charged me an additional long haul walk for an elevator. Could not be more upset.

Our initial estimate is based on the information you provided, including household inventory and specific moving requirements. It seems Quality Assurance reached out to review if there were any changes to inventory and you refused to participate. That step in the process typically allows us to avoid any price changes on pick up.
The estimate serves as a preliminary guide, but the final cost depends on the space used on the truck. It appears that there were more items and space required when the team arrived. Additional space, packing materials, or services incur extra charges as per our contract. Long haul is unfortunately an unavoidable situation at times. That's why it's outlined on the paperwork provided that you signed prior to loading of the belongings. For that we do apologize because it seems they arrived later than expected in the day and might have been avoided.
All of that being said, customer service is a top priority here at Brightside Moving Group.. We are here to assist you in any way we can. We apologize for the issues you've encountered during your move. We are working daily to improve our processes. Your feedback is an important part of that. horrific

horrific, what I witnessed they put my sister through for months on end, with 3 various 'moving' companies bringing items, some damaged, others not accounted for (costly ones) & no one knew where they were until she had to repeatedly call over & over. horrific, inhumane, cruel, not professional, one person in the office even laughing on the phone at her.

Worst companies EVER

I agree with all the prior reviews. They have no direct contact with the movers. My rates also doubled, when Express Mover Services charged me when picking up the load at my home for doubly taping moving boxes which were already secured. They piled furniture and boxes up to the ceiling to provide space for a second load. They changed employees somewhere in the Carolinas and the two guys who became the drop-off crew were incompetent, inefficient, and rude. The one guy who did the actual lifting had serious mental issues, seemed unable to read.the one in charge tripped over the furniture quilting pieces that they couldn’t be bothered to pick up and punched an 8 inch hour in my living room wall. The disabled guy broke the leg off my couch, pushed furniture along the sidewalk, and delivered 5 boxes which apparently intended for the other family’s load. All in all a terrible disaster.

In addition, Brightside denies all responsibility. All they do is the math. Never see you or your stuff.A month later, I’m still awaiting payment for the significant repairs to my furniture. Express Movers inc should be in prison and Brightside should lose all licensing. Appalling

We reviewed the paperwork and your move was estimated at $4997.24 and the final total cost was $6763.00. Based on the paperwork there were costs regarding a little more space needed for your belongings, bulky item fee, and some packing. These are all outlined in the paperwork signed and agreed upon prior to the movers beginning to load.
We are truly sorry for the damage to your furniture during the move. Brightside takes responsibility for ensuring that the moving companies we work with are reputable and handle customers' belongings with care. We will investigate this matter further and work towards a resolution.The good news is there is a claims process in place to reimburse customers with damaged property, please call Customer Service at 5614739753 so we can guide you through it.
We have reviewed and we really wish you woud have contacted us with any of these concerns. We have no calls or emails from you regarding any of these situations and we do encourage you to reach out to our Customer Service Dept. We are tremendously sorry your Moving Experience with the Carrier has been less than satisfactory. Every FMCSA Authorized Carrier we work with must be fully Licensed, Bonded and Insured. We consider reviews and complaints but heavily depend on our Customer's Personal Experience with Carriers.

This company was a nightmare from the…

This company was a nightmare from the beginning. They quoted us a price that was great. Then 2 days before the move it went up $5000. Our furniture was supposed to be delivered on the 26 of july. I kept calling and texting no replies. Finally on August 12 the furniture came. They brokered to a company called arena. Do not go with this company they are horrible.

We deeply regret the inconvenience and distress this situation has caused you. At Brightside Moving Group, we understand the critical importance of timely deliveries. We are saddened to hear you did not fully understand the FADD. When items need to be stored until the FADD they are normally stored in the state of origin. So based on your FADD of July 26th that is when they started to schedule a team to deliver. The DOT provides a 30 day maximum window for delivery and they delivered in 17 days.
Our estimate was generated based on the inventory list supplied to your Logistics Coordinator. During your Quality Assurance call, which was 7 days before the move, you added more items to the inventory and the price increased per your requirements. The estimate serves as a preliminary guide, but the final cost depends on the space used on the truck. According to the paperwork it seems the only additional charge was regarding packing costs outlined in the documents you signed prior to the movers loading your belongings. Loading and packing a moving truck is a complex task that demands time, energy, and expertise to ensure the safety of your belongings.

This was a nightmare from beginning to…

This was a nightmare from beginning to end. Initially I underestimated my inventory. I called them and updated it. The estimate doubled from $3000 to $6000 and I was okay with that because I had more stuff then I had originally estimated. I called weekly and was reassured it would never be more than this amount. When the movers came it was awful. It was Master Movers and they only loaded 1/4 of my stuff and no furniture because they said that I would need to pay $3000 more, they had the inventory and measurements from Brightside but between Brightside and movers they were unable to do the logistics and math to determine the room in the truck. I had no time left which they knew so I had to come up with it. When they delivered I owed even more. It totaled over $9200 which is way more than I can afford and they were deceitful in their dealings. I am 69 and on social security and they were unable to be honest with me. My delivery included other people's belongings and I am missing 4 boxes, 1 of which is my food that I needed. My 4-wheeler was damaged to the point of $3500 because they broke the mirror off, scratched the windshield badly, and stacked so many boxes on it the steering is badly affected. I called today and they said they would send me a complaint form and I only had a little time left to file a complaint and I've never received the form. I have since found out they have scammed many people out of their money and cannot be trusted. I want a refund of $3000 and my missing stuff found.

Regarding the pricing of your move, the preliminary estimate serves as an initial projection and is contingent upon the moving requirements, including the inventory of household goods, additional services, and desired pickup and delivery details provided by the customer during the setup process. At Brightside Moving Group, we utilize a cubic volume-based estimation process rather than focusing on individual articles. How big an individual item is definitely important but the price is finally decided by the amount of space used in the truck. Sometimes there are bulky or strange shaped items (like the four-wheeler) where things cannot be stacked on top of them or require special packaging. I know Quality Assurance Dept reviewed the nature of these situations with you. In your situation I believe we were on the phone with you and the movers to try and save you money regardless of the fact that there was more space and some bulky objects that needed moving.

We are truly sorry for the damage to your furniture during the move. Brightside takes responsibility for ensuring that the moving companies we work with are reputable and handle customers' belongings with care. We will investigate this matter further and work towards a resolution. The good news is there is a claims process in place to reimburse customers with damaged property.
