The cost of the van seems excessive given it smelt like manky feet, the dishes weren’t properly cleaned, not all tyres were roadworthy (and the spare was flat), some doors didn’t close easily so the alarm would randomly go off, there was a big chip in the windscreen, and roadside assistance doesn’t exist after 5pm…however, the freedom to drive around and nap when I pleased was great.
Exmouth is beautiful.

Hired the mystery machine hi-top for a road trip on the great ocean road in Victoria. Compact van which drove great on highways which was super roomy when parked and chilling/sleeping in van. Definitely would hire again! Sad to hand it back!

Love wicked campers! We hired a Mystery Machine - was it brand new? No. Was it 5 star luxury? No. Did I have to remortgage the house to rent it for 5 nights? Also no.
You know what you are getting - a van that was lots of fun to drive, comfy enough, well equipped, scruffy looking but eye catching.
If you want value for money, allowing you to spend on other things - this is the place to come

I recently went from perth to exmouth and the trip was great we have no problems with the car however i paid a $2000 dollar bond and it has being nearly 50 days now i've still not recieved it back. The communication from wicked campers admin has being very poor and next to nothing, they emailed me back once and when i ring the number they just tell me it's for bookings and they cannot assist me. I will never be using this company again and i would suggest if your reading this you don't unless you want to be scammed out of ur money!

Rented the D5 4x4 Adventure Camper. Tidy van, good price and pretty good overall. Bed comfortable. Cooking facilities chairs and table included but had problems with fridge and drinks cooler in front of van not working. Luckily we had a spare chilli bin for food and drinks.

vehicle returned undamaged and even though trip was advised to be to Birdsville paying $400 additional for that destination
upon return was advised that i travelled on a restricted road on map that Birdsville was also noted as a restricted destination i was told i would be charged $799.95 for travelling on a unauthorised road in a 4x4 vehicle
In my opinion i have been totally scammed!

Great time as usual in the mystery machine. 5th time renting a van from Wicked over the years. Pick up and drop offer were easy and vehicle ran great.

We hired the 4x4 desert sands for 3 nights and it was the experience of a lifetime!! The car was brilliant and the tent boxes were easy to use. We took it all around Kakadu NP and Litchfield NP (it was awesome on the 4x4 tracks) and wouldn’t change a thing!! 😍

The company is a good fit for young travelers. The campervan-car was well equipped. It was a bit old and the doors were tricky to open, which was annoying at times. But it overall served us well on our Roadtrip. Over the course of the trip the windshield got two small stone damages. When we informed them about this they replied quickly and were helpful. Another thing which might be nice to know for everyone booking with them is that the insurance doesn’t cover driving a dusk/dawn/night, so you’ll have to plan your trip accordingly. Overall good experience.

The car allowed us to travel where we wanted to go. We were able to use the roof top tents. It had camp chairs and cooking equipment.

We hired the Wicked "Johnny Feelgood" camper from Cairns for our trip to the Boulia Camel Races (Qld) and to have a genuine "outback camping experience" on the way.
This camper had everything we needed, for 2 people wanting to have simple no-fuss camping set-ups while travelling. A very comfy bed (excellent mattress), easy and convenient kitchen in the back with all the necessary items for cooking and loads of storage under the bed!! The van is spacious, great leg room in front, the arm rests on front seats are a treat, and we had a really comfortable ride (specially on those wild outback highways).
Overall, Wicked was great to deal with, the van lived up to all our needs and expectations, great value for money, and we had such a good experience that we will be back again to hire it out for another adventure very soon!!!

Quick and easy pick up, had all the amenities we needed and kept us warm during some chilly nights. Apart from the van being a bit slow everything else was perfect !

What an amazing journey and experience with this van. It was reliable and very comfortable. I loved it so much I'll do it again

We grab the car in darwin to go explore the kakadu and everything went smooth.

We hired a 4x4 camper with 2 rooftop tents for 2 weeks and absolutely loved it! It was stocked with almost everything we needed including cooking equipment, table, chairs, mozzie coils, washing up basin, and dishwashing liquid. We found online instructions for how to put up the tents which made it quite easy to do, and we communicated with Wicked Campers about any technical questions we had and got a prompt response. Very happy overall and would definitely recommend it to anyone to try if you need a 4x4 for some adventuring.

The vehicle we booked was not available so we agreed to a downgrade at time of pick up. The Bluetooth audio and navigation was out of order which made it hard to find our way around remote NT without internet connection.
None of the basics we expected were supplied so we had to buy dishcloths, tea towels, soap, gas cartridges and a lighter just to be able to prepare our food.
Overall it was a very negative experience and would not book Wicked again.

Had a great round trip for a week no issues with the van did everything I wanted. Reliable and safe. Only issues I could bring up would be the gas cooker was not great.

Basic camper , abit slow in acceleration had to go into 5th gear when reaching 55 as revs would reach over 3000 but all in all good experience , kept us warm , and got us there and back without issues . Would rent again

I arrived at Cairns yard for Wicked Campers at 9.30 am on a Tuesday morning...I had no booking and was hoping that I could grab a van then and there as my travel plans in a friend's car had fallen through...the staff were super friendly and helpful and could sense my desperation! Within half an hour I had a van , some free bedding and I was on my way ! I can't express my gratitude in such a small blurb. Thank you!

Great way to go exploring.
Spoke with the service people regarding ants and bugs in van. I advise to take a can of inspect spray incase needed for those pesky ants and roaches.
All in all friendly staff and well priced.
Would use this company again
