Our guide Alistair was awesome
Our guide Alistair was awesome. He is a wealth of knowledge on history, flora and fauna, and culture. He made all the hikes interesting, was aware of the limitations of some and very caring when people needed help. He provided treats and refreshments along the way that fit into the history and culture. He is a good man - give him a raise.
The itinerary covered a lot of interesting and beautiful locales. The accommodation was always first class although we really didn’t have a lot of time to enjoy it-the spa was closed when we returned from hiking at Eriska.
The van was very comfortable although a bigger unit with larger windows would have been nice. If you were stuck in the middle you couldn’t see much. Also with no microphone you couldn’t hear Alistair unless you were in the front seats, which were cramped for 3 people.

WEST HIGHLAND WAY
Wilderness Scotland organized a self-guided hiking holiday for us: the West Highland Way, in early Sept 2024; our accommodations were wonderful; the baggage transfer service was flawless; the guidance they provided was helpful on all fronts. We have booked several holidays with them in the past and have happily had a very positive experience each time!
Wilderness Scotland - Book it! You'll thank yourself!
Wilderness Scotland is all about the people: those who help you make your booking, the guide(s) of your trip and their magical way of bringing the small group together. I often travel on my own and find like minded people who become close companions for the week - friends to enjoy the trip with, to reflect with and simply to dine with. After ten trips with WS I continue to be extremely impressed with the guides. Never a dud, always a well informed, experienced, congenial, person whose company is most appreciated. All elements of the trip are handled smoothly with ease and clients are beautifully taken care of...the trip unfolds and you simply enjoy! I've tried other guided walking companies but none compare.
Boys trip
Had a fantastic trip with my father and brother. The guides, bikes, hotels, bike routes and scenery were great!
The hike itself was great
The hike itself was great, an epic experience especially given very wet and muddy conditions. Luggage transfer was flawless, and we enjoyed having a variety of b&b's, from rustic and simple to luxurious. We had only a few emails with Wilderness Scotland and I realize it might be difficult to book the b&b's ourselves, but other than booking b&b's and contracting with the baggage mover, they didn't appear to add much. There was nothing personalized, and some other hikers who were with a different company had an app that told them where they were and what the historical significance of each site was. We had a booklet WS provided, which had mileage that was off significantly on a few days.

Great cycling tour of Scotland
Myself (age 76), my sons (ages 53 and 44) had a great bicycle tour of Scotland with Wildnerness Scotland. The chosen routes were scenic, and varied; the lodging was first rate, and the pace gave plenty of time to see the sights. The two guides were top notch. Knowledgable with good personalities.

Arran, Islay and Jura

The guides were dedicated and did an excellent job. I felt that the ratings for the hike should be higher. In my opinion, some areas were difficult. Overall it was a beautiful hike.
