Excellent customer service from Wings

Excellent customer service from Wings, Peterborough. Purchased my Karoq new from Wings in 2020 which has only ever needed annual service and MOT which Wings have carried out smoothly and efficiently. During the last service a fault was detected in the steering bushes which was later rectified by Wings under the extended guarantee at no charge to myself. On each of my visits I have always found the staff to be helpful and courteous.

Avoid Avoid

After making a new vehicle purchase and paying a £500 deposit / unfortunately due to a hospital procedure and not being able to drive I had to cancel the order . I was told the £500 was non refundable due to terms and conditions , but that amount would be held for any future purchase within the next 6 months . I returned to the dealership in Peterborough at a later date to discuss a vehicle that would suit my needs , but as it turned out they could not provide me with a vehicle that was suitable to my requirements , so I again asked if that being the case was my £500 refundable , but they point blank refused , therefore I have lost £500 ., so buyer beware do not part with any money to this company ..

A £500 deposit was taken at the time the vehicle order was placed. The non-refundable nature of this deposit is clearly stated in our terms and conditions, which were provided and agreed to before the order was confirmed.

Following cancellation of the order, and without prejudice to our contractual position, we offered to retain the deposit as a credit for use against a future vehicle purchase within six months. No suitable vehicle was identified within that period.

The deposit was therefore retained strictly in accordance with the agreed terms. Deposits are taken to secure vehicles and confirm commitment to an order, and they are applied consistently and transparently.

While we acknowledge your disappointment, we are satisfied the matter was handled fairly and in line with the contractual agreement.

Great service

Leanne was very professional and accommodating keeping me informed of the issues with my car. The service was helpful although it didn't repair the issue it identified it as it was a non warranty job caused by an accident the work was referred back to the insurance company. I was only charged half an hour which is recoverable. Thanks team.

Reliable service with a smile

I recently booked my car into Wings Skoda for its first MOT, and a service.

Making the booking was straightforward and efficient.

On the day of the MOT I dealt with Leigh who had all the paperwork ready for signature. I was offered a courtesy car, but this wasn't necessary on this occasion.

I received a call when the car was ready to collect. I was also sent a video walkaround of my car, via email.

I have been happily using Wings to maintain my vehicles for many years and would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone.

I have looked for car for little while…

I have looked for car for little while and I do find the process very stressful as I do not enjoy change and find it hard, but the costumer service what I have received was amazing in Wings Skoda Peterborough. Sales executive Kieran Slocombe has been fantastic, very approachable and polite and he answer all my questions without any issues. He He made my journey of purchase very smooth. Kieran has got good knowledge and he is very professional and he shown me everything what the car has and really he pick the right car for me and met all my requirements and more and in my price so I was very please. I am very happy with my new Kamiq and I do enjoy the drive now. So thank you for all the hard work and advice.

Miss Sold…

We have been loyal customers of Wings of Peterborough for approximately 15-years, purchasing several Skoda cars over those years. Recently, we bought a plug-in Hybrid Kodiaq based on claims it could achieve 90+ miles on battery alone, but in practice, it only managed about 45-55 miles before needing a recharge, despite our modest daily use of approximately 22miles. Wings tested the charge capacity, and the tests confirmed the car was charging correctly, but our experience did not match their assurances as can be evidenced by bank statements. When we sought to exchange the car for a petrol version, we were advised to drive the hybrid it as petrol only as this would be cheaper, we did not feel this to be an appropriate option given the car is a Hybrid. At one point during the discussions to sort this problem Mr D was confronted by 4 people throwing facts and figures at him; quite rightly he found this to be intimidating. The exchange process was arranged, but our customer loyalty seemed overlooked as our monthly repayments went up. Mr D was approached by the salesman and informed that a bad review could cost him a fine, well he should think on that the fact he miss-sold us the Hybrid Kodiaq and that has cost us money. Disappointed by this experience and poor support, we will not be buying from Wings again.

I did adjust the percentage of the battery charge to 90% but still only managed about 55% which is nowhere near the 70 - 75% you mention. I might add that figure was never mentioned to us. At the point of sale we were told 90/91%.

To clarify, the official stated electric range for the Kodiaq PHEV is approximately 70–75 miles, not 90+ miles. During our checks together, your vehicle was achieving around 5 miles per kWh, which is above the typical figure of 4 miles per kWh. With a usable battery capacity of 19.7 kWh, this equates to a potential maximum range of around 98 miles when fully charged. We understand you were charging to 80%, which would naturally reduce the achievable range to approximately 78 miles. This was explained on multiple occasions, and we made every effort to assist you in understanding how charging habits affect range.

Following collection of your vehicle, our team provided ongoing support, including additional visits, to ensure you felt confident and comfortable with your new car. When you later expressed interest in exchanging the vehicle, we explored a variety of options, some with lower monthly payments and others higher, depending on the model chosen. Any increase in cost was due to the selection of vehicles priced above the Kodiaq PHEV, not a disregard for your loyalty.

Regarding your comment about feeling intimidated, all four team members involved in that discussion have known you personally for many years. We joined the conversation because you were clearly distressed, and our intention was to support you. When we realised you were not in the right frame of mind to make a major financial decision, we made the responsible choice to pause the process and refused to provide figures at that time. We then scheduled a follow-up appointment to ensure decisions could be made calmly and with full understanding.

We are genuinely disappointed that, after knowing us personally for around 15 years, you chose to share your concerns publicly across multiple platforms rather than sit down with us directly to discuss them. Our door has always been open.

Faulty Skoda Scala- Heat Shield Repair

This review relates solely to the service department....
I recently brought a brand new factory order Skoda Scala SE, that from collecting it had and issue with a metallic knocking noise coming from the rear underside. I suspected it maybe an issue with the heat shield. Took the car to Wings and spokevto service manager who was helpful and allowed me the opportunity to go with the mechanic (Dan) in the car to point out first hand where the problem was. He accepted there was an issue , that he quickly identified as being a wronllgly aligned heat shield. On collecting a few hours later it was better but still knocking a bit. Dan was very helpful and more than happy to try tk improve it. Thankfully it was sorted and hopefully no more issues. I found Dan to br very approachable, and positive. 5 stars for him. The only downside was having to wait about 6 weeks to get it looked at.

I purchased a Skoda Kodiaq in early…

I purchased a Skoda Kodiaq in early 2025 and Wing Skoda (WS) P’borough made it an absolute joy.

However, six months on - I got a warning light for breaks. It transpires WS sold me a car with 4mm of break pad and disks needing to be replaced.
I contact WS & I was told 4mm of break pad is perfectly acceptable!
Considering I paid full asking price, didn’t barter on additional extras - in return I expected the car wouldn’t need to be in a garage within a year costing £1600 (Front/Rear disc/pads and front suspension).
Perhaps it’s me - perhaps I expected too much. I leave this review for you to make your own mind up.
I would no longer recommend.

Following your review, we investigated the matter and invited you back to the dealership so the vehicle could be assessed by our technicians. This confirmed that the advice you had received from another Škoda retailer regarding the immediate need for replacement parts was incorrect.

The vehicle had covered approximately 7,000 miles between collection and your enquiry. Under Škoda Approved Used Multi-Point Inspection standards, wear-and-tear components are assessed at point of sale against defined tolerances, with consideration given to a period of six months or 6,000 miles. At the time of supply, the vehicle met all applicable preparation standards.

Where any component did require attention following your return visit, this was covered under the warranty provided at point of sale, and the work was completed free of charge at our dealership.

All Approved Used vehicles are prepared strictly in line with Škoda’s manufacturer-defined Multi-Point Inspection standards, which are objective, consistent across the network, and not subject to individual interpretation.

We appreciate that unexpected warnings can be frustrating and regret that this experience has led to disappointment following what was initially a positive purchase journey.

Disappointed After Years of Loyalty

I’ve been a loyal Wings Škoda customer since 2022, but my recent experience left me no choice but to take my business elsewhere.

I reached out via WhatsApp—where previous deals had been discussed—to confirm an appointment and explore a new vehicle offer. Despite sending three messages, I received no reply until late the night before, by which point I’d already accepted a better deal elsewhere. The dealership later claimed WhatsApp wasn’t an official channel and that the colleague was unavailable due to personal circumstances. Yet the colleague had read and responded to messages during the day, contradicting that explanation.

No effort was made to reallocate the enquiry or maintain continuity. Meanwhile, a new dealership—who’d never dealt with me before—treated me with urgency and respect, securing a competitive deal within hours. That contrast speaks volumes.

To add insult to injury, the manager’s public response felt like an attempt to guilt me for raising a valid concern. I sympathise with staff emergencies, but customers deserve honest communication—not emotional pressure or deflection.

I’ve since moved on, but this experience highlights a serious breakdown in service and accountability. Long-term customers should be treated with consistency and respect—not left chasing responses or made to feel unreasonable for expecting basic professionalism.

Messages sent to a private number don’t enter our systems, which means they can’t be logged, tracked, or reallocated if someone is unavailable. Please use our official channels during opening hours (the main number and email shown on our profile) so we can respond promptly and ensure cover if a team member is away.

On the Friday in question, the colleague you messaged was dealing with a sudden and deeply personal family loss and was not in a position to reply on a private device. Separately, we had a confirmed appointment for Saturday; our colleague arrived early and waited, but our records show the appointment wasn’t kept.

We’re reinforcing with our team that all customer communication must stay on official business channels and within working hours so nothing is missed, and we’re updating our confirmations to make this clearer for customers as well. We are a family business and we stand by our people when life events take precedence over the purchase of a car; we won’t discuss private circumstances further in a public forum.

Welcoming, professional and knowledgeable

My daughter has just picked up her new/used car. Ross was exceptional from the 1st viewing of the car to picking it up.
Ross was welcoming, professional and most importantly knowledgeable.
The car was presented as if it was a new car, in the showroom with a cover over it and a lectern with a lovely message on it.
All agreed work and additional work discovered during their safety inspection was completed with no quibbling.
I cannot fault Wings in anyway

Very helpful knowledgeable staff

Following warranty related hassles with…

Following warranty related hassles with our local Skoda retailer over many months, Peterborough were able to book us in (when this referral should’ve been handled by our local Skoda retailer in Maidstone), and subsequently solve the problems.
Thank you Wings.

Appreciation also to Skoda Customer Care who ensured that Maidstone followed Skoda policy in the end & provided us with a goodwill gesture.
